  1. Thanks @cargol. Good game and excellent turn rate. I think the T72s let us both down Great fun and cant wait for the next @George MCscenario. The desert has never looked better! On that other note, I think players that dont finish their games in tournaments should be banned for a period or something.
  2. Im experiencing a very weird issue with PBEM++ in the current CMFB tournament. I get the email notification as usual for turn 17. I load up the game, and in the In progress tab it says Launch Tournament Round 1, but its no longer the Last man out scenario. Instead its Fortress Grosshau (also turn 17, but otherwise a completely different battle). I try to load it but cant get past the password. Once I exit, I get an auto generated save. And its named Grosshasu-Bluebird-Cargol-051. So It looks like this is a battle between Bluebird and @cargol. How this is even possible is beyond me. I have tried to mail Slitherine support a week ago, no reply yet. I'll tag you as well @BFCElvis, might be of interest.
  3. Thanks Frank! What an amazing achievement. You are a treasure to this community.
  4. I found this very interesting and not really what is portrayed in CMBB or CMRT.
  5. I have used online colorization tools to bring some color to BW photos and put together other colored photos from the CMBN time frame. Credit to Umlaut for original concept. I have also included a music splash file with Eisenhowers D-day speach. https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/cm-mod-warehouse/combat-mission-battle-for-normandy/cmbn-other/cmbn-force-specific-backgrounds/
  6. Ah, thats good to know so It wasnt some weird bug. I saw it happen to my opponent in the mirrored battle as well. But as per the screen on the previous page, my unit was not panicked and ran to the edge of the screen, it was carefully set up by a hedgerow to cover the approaches. Needles to say as with the setups, this is bad scenario design and needs to be conveyed to the player. Otherwise a very nice and fun scenario. I had a couple other oddities, but these might be explained by the exit zones. In the US army minor victory I counted the OK germans to 13, end screen says 39 (I guess many might have exited and this is indeed ok. But I also find it weird in that battle that the US target is acceptable (enemy casualties) while in the other game below its secured even though the casualties are lower?!
  7. I guess. Never seen antyhing like this. A unit is exited without a exit zone. Will be interesting too see what happens in the next turn. I'll report back...
  8. Im a bit surprised that the veteran pak38 crew opts for the 150mm heat round vs the su-76. The ordinary ap round is obvioulsy more than enough to penetrate the su76 and far more accurate at that. Any one else see this? TacAI error or as intended?
  9. Its nice when they alter the setups and do other minor changes to adapt to the mirrored matches format. I hope this will evolve over time so you cant know for sure where the mines are, or that the defender can drop a pre-planned barrage in the attackers small setup zone etc. Without a chat its hard to come to a gentleman's agreement
  10. Can these scenarios be found anywhere? Looks fun
  11. Disregard this. After this I got a new turn, the game was back in the "pbem++ in progress". After the turn i got the end screen. Great!
  12. We ended one of our games with a surrender and it worked as intended as far as I can tell. The other game was just ended via ceasfire and I got an error message when I ended the last "movie", I was then back on the order phase and saved after that as usual. When I look at games in progress the game is no longer there, so I never saw the end game screen. Too bad, I hope this can be fixed. If you play longer battles that more often than not end with a ceasefire, and invest weeks if not months, you really want to see that end screen and tour the battlefield.
  13. No worries if thats the case @ratdeath. But is this something that is being looked into @BFCElvis? As I understand it a regular battle with pbem++ cant be ended with ceasefire if you want to see the end result? I still prefer to run the old fashioned way with pbem helper or some other software because of this. I also wonder what happens in the tournament if the opponent doesn't reply at all. In my first game I didn't get a single turn.
  14. @ratdeath and @BFCElvis, we got a surrender in the end - not sure if that was intentional or the game decided due to no forces left on the map? But if I understand correctly to get the tournament to run properly, we should never ceasefire or surrender? Games have to run to the end?
  15. Granted its a small sample size, but from what I have seen in game, the BMP-2 will favor its ATGM vs BMP-3, even at closer distances, rather than its autocannon. Can the 30 mm APDS defeat BMP-3 from the front? The BMP-3s made short work of my BMP-2s with their autocannons
  16. 27th march confirmed by Slitherine Forward to 37 min
  17. You need to activate the application (I think its called) "Activate new products" or something along those lines. It should be on your desktop along with the usual CM.exe short cut. Thats where you use the activation code.
  18. Thanks for sharing. Very anecdotal on my part but I found the Soviet on map 120 mm mortars in CMCW to be very inaccurate as well (compared to previous experiences with off map 120 mm mortars cross many titels)
  19. Does the Russian 120 mm mortar PGM stand any chance to take out a Ukrainian tank with a direct hit?
  20. I haven't played CMBS a whole lot yet, but I noticed that in one mission with the US it was enough for my FO to have LOS via a UAV to call in fire, incl. precision munitions on whatever the UAV could see. In another mission that Im playing now, as the Russians, the FO can call in fire missions with the exception of precision munition (mortar) on what the UAV can spot. The precision munition still need direct LOS. Is this correct?
  21. Thanks for the replies @DougPhresh, @Ultradave and others. Often amazed by the knowledge in these forums - this time as well. The scenario Im playing is in CMCW as the Americans and I have several FO that are able to use the artillery asset in question but with the FO calling the current mission KO the others are no able to call for these guns - and its much easier to understand that to be a plausible outcome now. Would the situation be any different If there was a team with an FO and a radio operator with only the former being out of action? As it stands now I believe the situation would be the same and the mission could not be interrupted. If Im not mistaken in earlier builds missions could get stuck in the spotting phase forever if the FO was KO. Now I see that after a few - several minutes the mission would end. Which I think is nice at least from a game play perspective.
