  1. Sorry I've been gone, was gone visiting family and leaving technology behind. Thank you for this post, but telling me everything had been renamed and is split up and it's by rank.... yes all good, but how does this relate to the drop down selection when choosing uniforms? What files are universal? What old universal file is now renamed and and changes when you select different uniforms? What files does each uniform select from? Are all German senior officers pulled from the same file, or when you select full camo, does it select a different hat, but keep everything else from the universal files? Could they have made the file structure a little easier to understand for me? Apparently not. I did unpak the data file, but because I lack previous knowledge of the OLD naming convention and none of the nw, I'm confused as to what links to what. Let alone they couldn't have named it This_is_Obviously_Mixed_German_Uniform_Hat.jpg ... So I stare at and old uniform mod images of a boot.... then stare at the new ones... and play the guess and check game. Obviously, I'm getting nowhere fast, specially since a lot of boots are very similar. Also, I apologize on requesting an exhaustive list, but what I'm saying is that if someone (or someones) does the hard work of getting me this list, I can do the hard work of converting every uniform I find and creating a program that let's you see and change uniforms on the fly. I'll try and do both myself, but that is what is slowing me down a LOT... I only recently bought the game. I know little of it's old or new file structure. That's why I asked for help. Perhaps I should post this request in the main forums to get more help? I just though the people who are making the uniforms would be here... Let me sum up the process and maybe you can see why I want help. First I need to figure out the current file structure and how it relates to selected uniforms (default, Camo, Mixed, Ect.) ... then I have to figure out how it relates to the older structure (What ways can I rename German_Shovel_1 so that only certain uniforms use it or make it universal?)... then I have to convert all the old uniforms I find, breaking them into pieces for the program ( Now I have 20 Converted_German_Shovel_1 for you to choose from!).... then create the program that let's you choose what you want... (Which German Shovel do you want for Mixed, and how many? Just select them, and hit install!) So, again, any help appreciated!
  2. Alright, I'll take this mod challenge. Do you want me to sneak them in to play some of the time, most of the time, or all of the time?
  3. With the 2.0 updates, I realized there was finally potential for me to go do a lot of the things I had wanted to do. Oddly, the coolest part to me was the uniform selection. Now I know a lot of people have noticed that this created an issue with Uniform Mods. I have tried to fix it myself, but I'm drawing a few blanks on what converted to what... and where to put things. The first one I'm trying to perfect is the American Airborne. From my understanding, they have 3 uniforms now. Normal, 82nd, 101st. If I have this right, they are: smod_american_m41_uniform smod_american_m41_uniform [82nd] smod_american_m41_uniform [101st] They also share: smod_american_boots-para smod_american_helmet-para What I don't know for sure are the bags, gear, and anything else I'm missing. Are they changed? Do they stay the same from older version? Also, can anyone help me in understanding the rest of the uniforms. If I can get help I would love to set up a compilation of all the current uniform mods... I'll even try my hand at a GUI installation so you can run the program, preview the uniforms, and pick what you want it to install. I'll do all the hard work, I just needed to know how to convert all the uniforms already out there.
  4. Ummm, this multiplayer is a SAD excuse to being able to say "hey we have multiplayer" We can't customize the battles, so once you've played a map, it's the same each time. It's fricken IP based too.. very old school, but not any real issue. Things you need to let us choose are random, things we'd rather have random or able to choose are stuck in stone... and It's hard enough to CONNECT. Most of the MP maps are recycled SP maps that you didn't even try to balance. Not to mention the start up units are all you get, small, always VERY similiar, and VERY unbalanced. Is this going to be fixed? some of it? any of it? This WOULD be workable COOP... Hard once again to see why you didn't do that... This seems a sad waste of a GREAT simulator. I can understand why a lot of people want a refund... I'm very sad with botht eh publisher and developer yet again... I don't think I'm going to buy CM:SF anymore. As good as it looks, I'm getting a feeling it's going to be the same old trick again. I have more ot say, but it'll get into a rant... besides got enough people posting "ouh noes my games sucks!!!11" for you to see the problems. I hope the developer works on polishing their games better in the future, and i hope the publisher here works on getting their developers to work harder on making good FULL games.
  5. My little bit. My riflemen killed plent smg close range as long as they where smart, and only my MG really owns med-long. I think the SMG does is job well of being scary, but not super deadly (haha, try to bunnyhop now SUCKERS) As for LOS... I don't know. I think tree's leaves (your picture) don't seem to count in LOS. That or somehow LOS curves like my golf swing...
  6. Dear Battlefront and family, Well this has been the worse release of a game I've ever seen, and it has so quickly become my favorite. Mind you I haven't played the game yet so I don't know if it's good yet, but I must applaud them. They turned a problem, into fun! Not only did i get to read laughable posts of WTF?'s, but I also found out that you actually care about us even when the time gets tough. I guess this might be kissing up (not like I get much out of it), but I appreciate your dedication to your products and to helping us. NOW... if you want to give me something for this sucking up... I wouldn't mind.. maybe some co-op. Anyways,Thanks for working hard while at the same time trying to make us happy. I know babysitting isn't an easy job. not sucking up (much), Wolfie P.S. You won my editors choice award.
  7. And i just posted you should applogize. ... You're back on the "awesome" status!
  8. wait wait, Stug become a PR? This should be like super stickied
  9. Retreat doesn't seem to work only when my crew is about to pee in it's pants, or the terrain is a pain... the two time i really need it to work... I'm more angry at my tank constanly trying to move by itself and get itself killed... Can't wait till we can work on some elite crews.
  10. All I got to say is that law and BSing aside it's good practice to let people have a refund if they haven't been satisfied. Specailly when you've let them down. I understand that BF cares and tried their best to get this ready on time for preorders, and then turned to tried to have the game ready to even come out ontime. I appreciate that they're probably on hour 58 with their 9th coffee in hand, yelling that the computer. They just need to do a few things right now to redeem themselves back to Wolfie's "awesome" standards ( a high honor, I reassure you): 1.Accept refunds, (I invite people who really want a refund and don't just want to read their own post to ask BF like you're suppose to... through their business email... I doubt they won't accept it. No promises, I didn't read up on it.) 2.Still let pre-orders have a sometime to download before others. (Make them feel specail, they deserve it!) 3.Applogize, (Don't be like EA, Sierra, and other BS producers/developers that can't admit they made a mistake.) 4.Don't let it happen again. (Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice.... YOU AIN'T GONNA FOOL ME AGAIN!! ) Does anyone see anything against that?
  11. No offense but that WAS bad wording. It felt like false advertisement. Mind you, people who thought they would get it weeks in advance must feel even further angered then me (little silly to think you'd get a game THAT far ahead), but most people where expecting to atleast finish downloading on the due date and be playing in on it's true due date while others waited for shipping or downloads to finish. I think the days of Steam's "preorders" are what many where atleast expecting, and your wording made it sound like they might even get to play it atleast a day before; to be able to brag to those who didn't trust how well your game would be. You've zapped a lot of or trust, mind you like Grunts most of us won't stop buying from you... we just won't pre order. I think we all appreciate the try, just don't mind us being mad when it doesn't work out. (Though I know some of the anger must be because you're REALLY stressed out trying to make this happen for us) Next time, maybe don't promise it to us. Spring it up as a suprise! A present! I think that you're best bet is to make it a unwritten promise, maybe something that seems to happen as often as possible, but isn't garuanteed in stone. I'd rather not get an unfinished game as a pre-order early just because you promised it. That or delay it's release if this happens... I don't know... I'm sorry I'm rambling...
  12. They could get our money by putting in their features list "COOP". Why should I risk my money on a "maybe". It's not their fault, but game companies break tons of "promises". And the fact that mp is still not mainstream for wargames should tell them to develop COOP. COOP games require only one side of the playing field to be filled to play. With 4 people you in essence get a 4v4 game. You get teamplay a lot easier through COOP where as in MP games tend to stick too much to 1v1. Not to mention a COOP campaign is almost silly to skip. Though even mainstream high budget games seem to sip this, so i'm not suprised. There's just something about a group of people working together against AI through several small battles to win a longer larger war. Heck, take WoW. The mp is popular, but most enjoy the raids, and how after many succeful raids, you can find your group well prepared for the next step to win the war. WoW can make huge profit because there can be no end to this "war". alright my.. what 50 cents? long rant...
  13. Wow... I wish I could take back my preorder... This was one of the biggest reason we got our whole group to want to buy it. I'm glad only two of us preordered though. Remind me smack my friend for being "sure" there was coop. ... though a less confusing list of features would be nice... even though figuring out if a game does or doesn't have co-op is always a hard thing. So am I going have to beg modders to possibly get me some co-op?
