  1. There are cell phone jammers sold commercially. You could probably get a "close enough" range by looking for one that looks close to the things in the photos...
  2. For what it's worth, I would definitely be interested in a historical module for the 2006 Lebanon war.
  3. Didn't you hear? O.J. got arrested. Everyone knows that nothing in the world is important unless a celebrity is involved. :-/
  4. I miss the old orders interface. Sorry, but a context-sensitive menu is _much_ easier to use than a tabbed panel where hotkeys do different things on different panels (I've popped smoke or bailed out when I didn't want to). I also miss the information in the old target command--firepower, percent chance to hit, that sort of thing. Finally, I miss the information about the units. I'd like to know how much firepower a unit has at a given range, how much armor, how much penetration for the gun, etc.
  5. "-a syrian nuclear facility was destroyed, with the samples and equipment -14 north korean nuclear specialists-operatives were eliminated in the strike. We are led to believe the strike was held until all the elements were in the same place so that everything could be dealt with in one blow." Where do you get this? I didn't see anything that specific and definite in any of the coverage, and what rumors have come out have all been spread by the Evil Empire--and specifically, by people in the Imperial capital with a long history of lying and warmongering. At this point, we don't really have any information at all. A question nobody has asked yet: why would the Syrians want to go to North Korea for help with a nuclear weapons program, when North Korea is the one country we have seen evidence _doesn't_ have working nukes. Why not Pakistan? Or for that matter, Iran (with which Syria has much closer ties), if Iran really is working on nuclear weapons...
  6. I believe the Army uses M16s and the Marines use M14s.
  7. I just played the same mission (Abu Susah), and had two Strykers park directly in front of an activated IED (not specific target) for ten minutes without it blowing up or saying "malfunctioned." Exactly what is supposed to be sufficient proximity to make them detonate? As a side note, the victory conditions for this seem a bit weird for the Syrian side. I killed four Strykers (and all aboard) in returned for one killed and two wounded, and still got a minor defeat. What does it take for a total victory, the President showing up on the map and surrendering in person? Of course I wouldn't have had so few casualties if the computer hadn't played the Americans incredibly stupidly. Or maybe all of its infantry were suffering from the bug where they refuse to move.
  8. I found that I had to move my Bradleys at start to the far left corner of the start area to keep them from getting massacred by the ATGMs. I got off to a good start that way, but can't get too far because two of my infantry squads stop responding to orders and the scenario can't be finished with only one squad.

  10. Ammo selection is a bit buggy. In the campaign mission where you are supposed to take a crossroads and then the airport hotel, one of my Bradleys took out a tank by firing two TOWs at it--after first spending 30 seconds bouncing AP off it. After that, my Bradleys refused to fire anything but HE at any armored vehicle. In the same mission I tried to take out more enemy tanks with a Stryker MGS, but it refused to fire anything but HE (not even HEAT) as well.
  11. I just got the game a few days ago, and encountered this particular bug last night,in a scenario where each side has an IFV and an infantry platoon. I ordered a squad to assault a nearby building, while another squad and my Bradley covered what I thought where the places an enemy might appear. Turns out I was wrong--there was a BMP in front of the next building over from my overwatch squad. The first three men of the assaulting squad were killed by autocannon fire from the BMP. Okay, that I could live with. However, the six guys who were supposed to be watching for threats to the advancing three didn't react at all. As soon as the first three died, the next three ran out and got killed in the same way. Then the next three ran right out (although one of them got lucky and lived).
