You are looking at the game to provide a greater amount of fine detail than it designed to provide. I think of it as a balance between being very moderately Operational and very Granularly Tactical. It is not perfect. Mind you I have been playing wargames for a very long time and I have not found anything better. Try to enjoy it for what it is. Out of curiosity, what other wargames do you play?

My experience has me staying away from anything but Nvidia cards. The RTX 3060 looks like a good choice and a balanced compromise.

The actual General Discussion section would have been the proper place for this thread. It is a bit confusing to have 2 General Discussion areas. I can easily understand why, when someone sees Combat Mission General Discussion, they may think it is " All Things General " rather than being specifically general to Combat Mission. @Childress Further down the specific forum lists you will find the non CM General Discussion section.

I have always wondered about this ...............what if WW2 Combat Mission didn't end but continued with the Russians pushing West. The maps and unit organizations already exist for the most part. I wonder how much work and time it would take to cobble together? I haver always thought it would provide some interesting match ups.

I don't think this fellow from Slitherine is the best of presenters for Battlefront. According to him this title is better than it's predecessors and is the only balanced game of the franchise.

It seems that Battlefronts association with Slitherine has, perhaps, afforded them more resources for game production. Also cheers to "Bill Hardenberger and Warren the Capt." for their getting this underway.

It seems that, depending upon how things work out, all of the titles may become available on Steam. At the moment only CMSF2 and CMBS are on Steam.

I think in terms of sales and scenario creation, Poland and/or Turkey would be good choices. Turkey would be a good fit for CMSF2 as well.

Plus they actually have a wargame category, which I like. It saves me looking through, strategy, simulation, and the like, to find what I might enjoy.
