  1. Hi all, I have been playing a pbem. We use gmail and there are problems loading and playing the files. For a few moves it was fine and then it would not work. Do others find it best to zip files before sending or just to send the file. I am wondering how others are arranging their PBEM. Are others having problems. Regards John
  2. Hi all, I am reflecting upon my enjoyment of CMSF over the last two weeks and considering what design choices I liked from the old CMX1 that did not make it into CMSF as well as some other items I would enjoy. I really miss the ability to build my own Quick Battles by choosing units. I know it is not realistic but it was great fun and after all this is a game meant to entertain. CMX1 is able to satisfy Grog and Dabbler alike. That along with the game designs great flexibility are at the core of its popularity in my view. I am aware it is early days and certainly the full patch cycle will need some time to run its course. Perhaps somewhere along the way cherry picking will find its way back into the quick battle design. Another item is the clock for wego. I was wondering if it may benefit from being more flexible. Say a setting of 30 as well as 60. I have found ToW to be much more fun and manageable since the last patch allowed for a slower, normal or faster resolution time for RT. I wonder if that may also find its way into CMSF. Finally it would be nice to have the wego option for TCP play. I find the option to use Real Time or Wego quite satisfying. I love having that option. Whatever changes Battlefont may or may not make CMSF will be on my hard drive for a long time. Regards John
  3. Hi Rougespear, I am running CMSF without any problems on win2000pro. I have a 3500 amd athlon64 with a 128 mb geforce video card and 1G of ram. You may want to post the rest of your specs. Regards John
  4. Hi All, There was a fellow who had the sluggish mouse problem and he solved it by turning vsync off. Start the game go to options and turn vertical syncronization to off. It may or may not work but it is worth a try. Regards John
  5. Hi All, I also never used the hull down command in CMX1. Much better to give the hunt command below a hill crest or to judge it manually as Melnibone has said. In terms of shoot and scoot try a move, pause, and reverse command. Regards John
  6. Hi All, I usually try to get as close in cover with carriers as I can. Then I dismount 1 sqaud that I split into 3 groups and an observor if there is support. I try to leap frog them onto some high ground, building roof, or cover to spot. Then I start the process of suppresion and advance. I like to set ambushes but they do not often work. Anyways I am having lots of fun. Regards John
  7. Hi Battlefront, I am really enjoying the game very much. I have a question about time compression regarding wego and RT. Wego: I can move quickly through or end the game replay. However while in the move I cannot find a way to accelerate the time. RT: In realtime it would be handy to be able to play at a reduced or faster speed. regards John
  8. Hi All, I have found it a bit too easy by using the javelin so I limit myself to one missile per sqaud. That way i tend to save them for something important. Regards John
  9. Hi All, Both games were in development for quite some time and my expectations were high. The difference between them is that CMSF has delivered upon my expectations, and even with the latest patch ToW has not. ToW has potential but who can say if it will be realized. Please remember I speak of my expectations, and of course, others may feel differently. Regards John
  10. Hi All, Win 2000 3500 amd athlon 64 1 g ram geforce 6600 Runs like a charm. Regards John
  11. Hi All, No download or install problems. No performance problems. No control problems. I played a tiny QB and it was lots of fun. Great job Battlefront. Thanks for the game! Regards John
  12. Hi All, Would it be save to say that if you run ToW at the high end without problems them CMSF will also run well? Regards John
  13. In Reply to J Ruddy, I used no tricks. It is win 2000 pro with SP2. My Graphics card is an nvidia gforce 6600. I do have 1 K memory Ram. Regards John
  14. Hi All, Will CMSF run on win 2000? ToW runs very well on win 2000 perhaps CMSF will too. Regards John
  15. You must have spent hours and hours working to arrange items just the way you wanted them. Great work. I will look forward to downloading the Mod when it is ready. Regards John

  17. Hi All, Are there any mods or new missions for download? If so where would I find them? regards John [ June 16, 2007, 06:41 AM: Message edited by: z1812 ]
  18. Hi All, Smaller scenarios might work much better notwithstanding the LOS and other issues. I did try to make a tiny one with the editor but for now I have stopped work on it as I find the editor too difficult to use. I see potential in this game and will wait to see what develops. Regards John
  19. Hi All, You may want to load a stock mission to see how different tasks are achieved. I should think it would be easier to alter existing triggers and then copy and paste them into your mission. Regards John
  20. Hi MA, The system that runs the mission editor is: WinXp, P4 2.8, 512 RAM, ATI mobility 9000 IGP. Won't run the game at all. The system that runs the game is Win2000, AMD 3500, 1G ram, and Nvidia GForce 6600. Runs the game beautifully but not the editor. Heheh. Regards John
  21. Hi All, TOW ( full game ) will not run on my laptop. The demo ran no problem. Specs are: WinXp SP2, P4 2.8, ATI Mobilty Radeon 9000, only 512 ram but as I said the demo ran well. The Card on my other comp where the game runs well is only a 6600 Nvidia GForce. When I launch TOW the screen flickers, I see the TOW mouse tip briefly and then it returns to Desktop. I did the unlicense, uninstall, reinstall procedure but still have the same problem. Any help is appreciated. Regards John [ April 21, 2007, 10:50 AM: Message edited by: z1812 ]
  22. Hi All, I am installing TOW now on my second computer to see if there is a difference. Hehe. So on one computer the game runs but not the editor. On my other computer the editor runs but not the game. The game just will not launch at all. The screen flickers and I see the TOW mouse tooltip briefly and then it returns to desktop. I had no problem running the demo on this computer. Very odd. And yes I unlicensed, uninstalled and did it all again. Hehe. In time answers to all problems. Regards John
  23. Hi All, I also have the same problem. I tried all suggestions but no luck yet. Regards John [ April 20, 2007, 03:47 PM: Message edited by: z1812 ]
  24. Hi All, I have just finished the basic training part of the demo. Right now my feeling is that I will order the full game. I do not have worries about managing large groups as I do not see myself using the game in that way. My thought is that this game will be perfect for creating small tactical problems to solve. Maybe 4 infantry groups, a tank or 2, and 2 other pieces with some support. Regards John
  25. Hi All, I have Windows 2000 Pro with an AMD 64 3500 and 1g ram. Graphics are an asus 6600 256 mb nvidia card. Yes it runs fine so far under Winpro2000. I have all the previous CM games and bought them as they were released. They are all still on my harddrive and played often although it is mostly CMAK these days. Just finished ToW Basic Training and really enjoyed it. Graphics crisp and smooth. Looking forward to White Wine and More Tutorials tomorrow. Also I wanted to mention how tasteful the artwork is for the different menu items. Someone did a very good job of design and arrangement Regards John
