RookieCAF replied to Joe Shaw's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
How about that Alienware netbook? I'm not overly familiar with it but it's supposed to be fairly decent. -

M10 Rear .50 Cal....just for show?
RookieCAF replied to dpabrams's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I try to use my TD's as movable AT Guns. Putting them anywhere that is the least bit exposed seems to end badly -
A tragic loss, but could have been far far worse. A big thumbs up to the flight crew for setting it down amid what I am sure is Kaos and that everyone got out without loss of life!

Picking up a Thompson with buddy aid
RookieCAF replied to Aldaros's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
A Thompson is a very short range weapon. Unless I was in a City or Town I'd probably prefer a Garand. -

I believe I read the Armored Assets had a seperate supply chain, but still. All that oddball stuff, and then add in the American stuff they ended up using as well. -

Interesting Video on the BESA. The British Supply system must have been bizzare. -

And in most cases, the Bow Mounted MG was more or less just a bullet hose. No real sighting system other than the Mk1 Eyeball thru the vision slit or periscope. IIRC -
When is the patch coming out?
RookieCAF replied to Javaslinger's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Ahh, Undoubtedly some of my SVGA Air Warrior Bretheren introduced that phrase to a new community. Whenever we asked the Gods of Kesmai when it would be fixed. 2 Weeks -

ye olde "In Command" lines...
RookieCAF replied to Bartokomus's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I'm getting used to the current method, though a hot key to show em , would not be the worstthing that could happen -
Basic gives you full info as soon as a unit is spotted. Among other differences in the way the game works, For instance Artillery arrives quickly on basic training difficulty, more realistic waits on higher difficulty. It is detailed in the PDF which is installed with the demo.

Was it loaded on the floor, or on pallets? because more would fit with out pallets -

If I understand correctly, you get 4 activations to do with as you like on your own machines.

1911 A1 .45 cal vs. Marder!!!
RookieCAF replied to Capt Cliff's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I do like how sometimes you can coax them back into the vehicle, but I think if their vehicle is toast unless they are in imminent danger they should seek an exit. -

I used to use dial up to do PBEM back in the day. No joke. -
Thanks for the response! I guess the overhead icons stay on and tree's toggle will be my friends. Very impressive so far. Feels like I'm learning all over again

Be Gentle with me, Haven't played in along time. In the originals there was a toggle for unit scale, which made the Representative graphics larger in scale for visual purposes. Is this feature gone, or am I just missing it somewhere. My eyes are getting older ~Rookie
