  1. Hi All, This is like having a conversation with myself... doesn't anyone play this game anymore? Anyway. I just got a reply from Strategy First support: He goes on to say that they're working with Valve to see how it happened and how to fix it. So there you go. Cheers Ceedub
  2. Hi again, Just for clarification, this is the response I received from Valve: And here's Strategy First's response: Anybody else getting anywhere with this issue? Ceedub
  3. There's been a thread recently about missing or inactive configuration and mission edit files in Iron Warriors purchased through Valve's Steam. In my own posts there, I outlined my efforts to get a response from Battlefront, Strategy first, Valve, etc. Finally, Strategy First responded by saying it was an issue with Valve/Steam downloads. Okay...! So I contacted Valve's support. They responded today with the admission that the "version" of Iron Warriors they offer for D/L does not have access to those files! In other words...its different! So,I contacted Strategy First to find out about this different "version", why weren't we informed, etc, etc. He,(Mike), huffed a bit and replied that it was the first time he had heard about this problem, that I was the only one, my PC might be at fault, yadda...yadda! I replied by asking him simply: are there two versions of this sim; the full featured boxed retail one, and a crippled one for Steam D/L? Stay tuned, Ceedub
  4. Hello...? Anyone out there? It seems that my optimism on my Sept.12th post was...well...too optimistic ! Will we get an answer to this issue of missing or inoperable cfg files? Nothing from Steam...StrategyFirst or Battlefront. No replies since the first emails and postings acknowledging the problem with Steam downloads. C'mon! Someone step up and tell us what's being done. We've been patient enough. It seems that this community is being stonewalled. All the well meaning advice thats been posted on this forum by Madmatt et al, although much appreciated, is getting us nowhere! Okay...I feel better now ! Cheers, Ceedub
  5. Oops! I just noticed Oiink's earlier post mentioning his reply from Strategyfirst. Sorry for the repetition. Ceedub
  6. That's a ditto Madmatt. I saved your .bat to my Iron Warriors folder and tried to run it...got the same message as Oiink. Same message I've been getting whenever I try and activate those files. But there's hope...I received an email response from Strategyfirst tech support acknowledging the problem with Steam downloads and that they were looking into the issue. Nice to know that they care and are trying to help, just like you guys! I think that we'll be sorting this out soon. Thanks again everyone. Ceedub Toronto
  7. Oinnk said Yeah...c'mon Madmatt, throw us poor starving Steam buyers a bone!!!Tell us how to make a .bat file to access these utilities! Give us what Steam denies us! The truth will set us free! (I really...really want to get rid of those faint annoying "ghost voices"!) Thanks again, Ceedub
  8. Madmatt, Could you explain more fully how to create a batch file to access the config mode for T-72. I've been having the same problem since I purchased through STEAM. Thanks Ceedub
