  1. I have found with some very careful driving and use of the terrain, that you can park a shrike on the top of the turret of thor. It was impossible to see out of the tank and he fell on rough terrain. But the cannon is even better, If you can do the same with sensor blockers it is going to be a whole new game.
  2. When am I going to find time to smoke cigarettes? Drop Team's reduced load time helped me quit!
  3. I logged on and experienced the same problems as described above, all my menu actions were delayed by up to a minute. The same also occured to me in the single player. I am playing on a powerpc mac.
  4. I like the grid on the tac map, but it would be good if was always at a set size (ie 500 m) between grid lines (ie big maps would have more grids) so that it is easier to judge distances. And as has been mentioned before, I liked the old sidebar that gave you quicker info on the rest of the team.
  5. Sorry to waste your time, but if you were having problems with the second click on the tac screen on a mac like me, try Command-click, as opposed to the standard Control-click.
  6. if only it were that easy! I have noticed that I have better peripheral vision than forward. As I move along in a tank, I am always seeing red triangles to my sides, but as I turn toward them to scope they disappear. This is happening alot and can be quite distracting.
  7. On Apple Laptops there is no second mouse button, which now makes giving bots instructions impossible, unless I am missing out on a key command for this. I will use a USB mouse, but it makes fragging from the coffee shop more difficult. Toby Haynes, Hub, and Iceman are in the house! The new scenerio rotations are great!
  8. i think the infantry squads should have one or two of these digging charges. 'digging in' is a routine and nescesary manuever for soldiers, it is the first thing one should do when fired on by distant enemy units. also it would be good to switch the 120 HE for a couple of bunker buster type shots, so fortifications can slowly be picked away at. i imagine it would have an effect on the earth much like the heavy mortar, but with hardly any vehicle damage. peace, tIG

  10. I have always thought it was humerous that the Cutter has a bundle of low-tech rope tied to the back of it. As if the engineer inside is going to use it as a tow-rope or maybe to pull-down buildings. Funny! I like having the cutter be visibly identifiable, as compared to all the classes of paladin which you need to observe the turret to tell what you are dealing with. When you spot a Cutter you know you are shooting fish in a barrel. I guess I really don't have much to say about this, except thanks to the developers for taking all our input! peace, tIG

  12. if you drop the blade on the cutter, then switch vehicles w/ a bot, then give him move orders, he will cut a trench. it is a hassle, but it is better than doing it yourself! -tIG
  13. I say leave the cutter the way it is. It may seem week and underpowered, until you take the middle AA tower, then it just became the most important piece in your whole attack stratagy. I guess if there is one thing I would change it would be to make the digging blade very armored (equal to the front armor on the heavy tank), that way when you are trouble you have a bit of defense and it seems somewhat realistic.
  14. i found some screen capture software for the mac (http://shinywhitebox.com), and tried out the demo to record DT and then some amature edits in iMovie and ended up with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p56dQe1kRw please note that the video is mostly covered by a demo disclaimer from the capture software, but you can see me doing some mac jumps in the shrike, and eating people up in the Cutter (and if you played the last few nights, you know i rule the cutter), and other low G tricks. anyways this was just a test for those who want to do this on the mac. i want to thank sabot3 for putting up with me during the game.

  16. PredatorChimp, your on vacation in the EU and are posting about video games = ADDICT. I would love to put some time into a mod, maybe we could revive 'mars plastic wars'. Everyone else, video ads would be great but just as good is voting up gameplay vids on youtube. the viral marketting thing could be a wildfire once the flame lights. Another idea is to just give a hundred of the demo players the full-version. I think the money would be made up in the long run. But maybe us old timers that paid should get some sort of title like: OLD TIMERS.

  18. This game is great, especially on a mac. I give a loud round of applause to the developers. Once a slight bit more tweeking happens to balance the levels it will be golden. Except for the lack of players in the full version. I think that this is something that both the serious players and the developers should work on. Here are a few ideas: 1) Viral marketting: allow current players to invite a friend(s) for a discounted price. 2) Buzz: both players and developers can post articles and videos about DT all over the net. This includes updating the dropteam website! 3) Deception: when a demo player refreshes the server list, make it look like there are multiple full-version games in progress. 4) Enticements: allow demo users to observe full-version games. 5) Punishments: randomly (1 player an hour) drop players from the demo version with a message stating that they should purchase the full version. 6) Bundles: Apple routinely bundles games with their computers (though I have no idea how to set this up). 7) Encouragement: If you meet a new player online or are on the demo servers, be nice and try to get them into the game.
