  1. I agree 100%. I used to like AoE but I think I'm getting too old for RTS "clickfest" games!
  2. Maybe in the Soviet Army but I have to disagree about the US Army. Don't forget about the IL2 engine and AI planes seeing through clouds-I think that is the REAL reason that there is no smoke
  3. That IS the problem with smoke. In the IL2 engine the AI can see through clouds-and it's never been fixed-or could be fixed. I doubt we will ever see it in this game.
  4. Someone needs to make a realistic AAR. All the ones I have seen so far are too gamey and NOT historically correct. 10m tank to tank battles, Poles overarmored, never the correct proportion of infantry, Char B tanks fighting with S-35's, He-111's bombing front-line troops etc. Everytime I see a new AAR I fear the amount of realism that is actually in the game. Having all the realistic statistics in the world means nothing if they are not put to use in a historical context. I sure hope time was put into the scenarios campaigns also.
  5. I have to agree. I am starting to get a bad feeling about this one just by the AAR's. I hope I am wrong but I don't think so
  6. Are any types of friendly fire events going to happen in the game? Recrewed weapons, infantry at extreme range, air attacks on friendly positions etc.
  7. I have been watching this game in it's various incarnations since the beginning and am glad to see Battlefront publishing it. I have also been reading many negative posts based on the different AAR's. The most curious I find is the no infantry in buildings complaint. In these smaller type of rural engagements wouldn't the supporting infantry try to stay away from any buildings in their LOS? We are not talking Stalingrad urban defenses but small tactical battles. Who would deploy for defense in a farmhouse only to become a tank/artillery/MG fire magnet-and losing most of their LOS capabilities?! Assaulting towns are a different matter, but it looks like this game is not that type of game at this time. I just had to put in my 2 cents as the complaining does get tiresome. Let's wait for the game PLAY to get a final judgement.
  8. The white German crosses were a great aiming point and after taking some losses most of the white crosses were covered with paint, mud etc.-even yellow to try to reduce the visibility. Tank numbers were usually on a small plate on the side of the vehicle early in the war. The Poles were security conscience and removed their markings during mobilisation.
