  1. Update. Didn't mess with DirectX. Installed latest nvidia drivers and no crashes so sar. Woot!
  2. Since I received a new laptop I've played 4 scenarios (and having a blast) however 3 scens. crashed to runtime box. Game runs great until crash. Specs: Vista Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.4GHz, 800Mhz, 3M L2 Cache) 3GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8600
  3. I'll just be thrilled to see a WWII module and folks want to complain about them? While playing CMSF with it's more refined (post patch)game play I picture what a refined WWII will be and it gets exciting the thought of it. Have many thought about and envisioned how good this might be. Give me 10 modules, if it is good I'll gladly shell out $$ for them.
  4. BF just knows how to do it. Fine concepts TOW has but so much that matters gets lost in the final product, inexplicably. Remember the announcement of a modern CM and all the crying that ensued. BF stated how this new CM would make for an even better WWII product. It's easy to see NOW how off the the chain insane CM2 WWII could be. As I play CMSF I can't help but see its WWII application and jaw drops.
  5. Was a little worried that my 3.2ghz 1g ram would not run very well for it only has a slightly upgraded "stock" video card that came with the original system. Do not even know what kind of card is installed on this Dell system. However it runs well.
  6. I'm up to the'defend' mission but failed or mistakenly didn't setup my 2 guns and failed the mission. But up to now it has been very straight forward with easy victories at default setting.
  7. Thanks Salkin. Finally got to see them. Even with the new codecs i can't view the fargin movies here.
  8. Could you throw us a bone. How did this scenario play out?
  9. TOW has a lot going for it. But with so much open terrain I hope it does not take on a "Panzers" armor heavy mentality. It should have an infantry first attitude. It has the "they like the tanks, give them more tanks" approach, it seems. Very frustrating.
  10. Anyone know whether you will be able to design your own battle with a heavier inf. presence, Ala CC3 force pool?
  11. Naturally, if I cut armor i want to have points to purchase additional inf.
  12. Comparing comparsions is like... and so on The best point of CC was realistic, company level infantry combat. I don't see infantry tactics in ToW yet. The infantry usage in the video looks like Codename Panzers: a small bunch of unassociated guys walking around between the tanks. </font>
  13. It may have been a Cromwell, but I love when the tank revs up. You can feel the weight of the tank move as it rolls over the fence and the exhaust billowing from the rear. We may finally have the ultimate CC replacement.
  14. Excellent perspective of the game. Best vid so far I've seen. Plenty of information to digest. *thumbs up*
  15. A little gore would add to immersion. A more gut wrenching experience with your own troops, no pun meant.
  16. So I gather that ranges exceeding 550m the IU will not give you a true range?
  17. With 2k maps are there areas where you can set up and engage from 1000 to say 1200 meters with a gun or tank? This would add a lot to game experience.
  18. First of all, big congrats to both BFC and 1C for getting together and giving this game its just due. When targeting potential targets will it give a range/distance to the target? What is the maximum range(approximately) a Panzer II MG would engage an inf. unit? Would a MG 34 or 42 have a longer range compared to Bow MG? With visibility being a big factor of course. Great AAR, I'm excited about this title!
