  1. Peleliu. 40% casualties for the invading force. He most likely is a Marine by statistical chance, as you pointed out. But those are highly irregular cutoffs and footwear too. Perhaps a member of a naval landing party?
  2. Is this stuff anywhere in the manual? Random Gamer
  3. Okay, maybe I'm a dummy or just blind...but nowhere in the manual can I find a list of what the various Icons in the Component Status Panel are. Okay looks like commander, armor, fuel, ammo, and the last seems to be gunner. But what is the thing above the gunner that looks like a drop of water or a puddle or who knows what? Random Gamer
  4. Wow! Lots of discussion in this thread. Okay, I spawned a game several times and shot up eight of my paladin friends so that I could monitor damage. Perhaps the situation isn't as grave as I first stated, but all the same several of them took multiple multiple hits before they were not battleworthy. A couple brewed up first hit. I remain unconvinced that the damage to paladins and shrikes from AP isn't a bit understated, but I will admit it's not nearly as pronounced as I may have represented. Those sure are some tough-a__ tires though. I wish I could get some of THOSE for my pickup! Random Gamer
  5. I just finished a scenario wherein I dueled with some Paladins. What some people are reporting is true. The Paladins in some cases took 8-9 120mm AP rounds...half at close range...without effect. This just doesn't seem right to me. The AP ammo overall seems pretty darned ineffectual, but to be able to pump that many rounds into a lightly armored vehicle without effect is kinda silly. Random Gamer
  6. This seems to me to be a major issue, that the AI can see through vegetation. In order to man a hull down position on grass you have to fire from the overview, not the gunner's site. Of course, even though you can target and fire from the overview, it's difficult to be accurate sometimes. Certainly the AI has a gross advantage here. This deseves looking into. Random
  7. Bought the download...license thing didn't work. Overcame that problem solved by going through the process about 20 times, not how I had envisioned my evening. Then...game didn't work. Upgraded through the upgrade.exe...hung up numerous times, crashed my machine. Finally got the uprade program to work without hanging. Game opens! Went right to the singleplayer mode. Game tells me that I am not licensed for single play! SO I SPENT $55 BUCKS AND COUNTLESS HOURS OF BS TO DOWNLOAD THE DEMO. That's okay, I guess...really makes the decision about future Battlefront games easy...stay away like the plague. I have purchased all of the Combat Mission Series, for some reason I expected the quality of this game to be up to the high standards they were. I was very, very wrong. When the disc and manual arrive I will be returning it the same day. And I'll be calling my credit card company regarding this purchase. After the shennanigans of this download/license disaster I am disinclined to deal with this company directly...Battlefront has lost my trust as a gamer forever.
