  1. HvS raised a very good question "Will a german basic version run with an english expansion pack?" Hubert, maybe you can offer some kind of "Gold-Version" including SC2 (eng. version) and the expansion pack for owners of a foreign version of SC2, if the expansion pack won`t work with the german basic version? (ofc for a "special price" ) Frank
  2. Moonslayer, the 8 (!) attempt to dll your mod (v1,1) finally worked. & what did I see - there`s a Cyprus-mod too. Can`t wait to try this one tonight Thanks a lot for your work!
  3. The demand for a UserID & PW is just to see the pic Moonslayer posted. (It`s located in a protected area so you need to log in to see it) MOONSLAYER I`ve dll your mod two times, both downloads were "invalid" (?) Is it hosted somewhere else?
  4. Hello Christos, the changes sound great. I`ve send you my new mail-address, please send the new version to the new account (since the old one won`t work right - I don`t have a mail so far). I`ll try the new one at the weekend. Frank
  5. Hello Christos, I played the map with a friend. Our opinion: - GREAT map (finally a real worldmap) but - far too many resources - the pacific naval forces are too many (1/2 for both would be better) - Japan is far too powerful - Germany too (not as overpowered as J but still too strong) - a "houserule" for Japanese aircrafts is necessary - "home builds" is necessary the reasons: - resources after Japan has taken China & Burma they get 700 mpp (USA/Germay/GB together) - there`s no way to ever stop them with that cashflow - in 1940 all naval units were FULL upgraded + several subs bought (lv2)- no chance for USA navy the resources in China/Burma go up to 8 if conquered by Japan (8 mines in China - the same will happen if they get the Russian mines) - naval OOB too many units, no real movement possible as no one dares to move single ships/subs - we only moved "groups" (10-20 units!) the Japanese Navy is so powerfull that it could challenge the USNavy/RN/Kriegsmarine together! - Japan Japan`s land units are too many - Russia wouldn`t be able to stop them even without fighting against Germany & Japan has so much mpps that they can afford 2 equiped tanks/planes or 3 armys every turn (1940) - Germany can build up its army (+ research) by spring `38 so they can invade France (no chance for France to build up its army) - my friens invaded Poland in summer `38 with the "original OOB" & invaded France in spring `39 with additional tech&troops! - house rule Japanese aircraft You could operate them to Germany in turn 1 and start "conquering Europe" in `37 - 5 experienced aircraft + 2-3 (?) bombers - with this you can beat EVERYTHING in `37 - home builds should be "standard" in every game (IMHO), it can`t be that Japan can put new units to a recently conquered city in India! Overall it seems that the "pacific OOBs" have an other scale than the the "european OOBs" - 3-5 times maybe (Japan has a 4 times bigger army than Germany?) Of course: all above is just our opinion, what`s the opinion of the other tester? Frank BTW: Congratulations, hope you enjoyed the "holiday"
  6. Hello Christos, please send me a copy of the latest version. Frank
  7. Hello Christos, sorry no mail so far! Can you try again? Frank
  8. Now I got it!!! Will look at it tonight (still have to work a few hours) & sent it back so that you can go on tomorrow. Frank
  9. Hello Christos, didn`t recieve a mail from you so I thought you have forgotten me (Don`t know what happened - checked mail on Sa/Su) If you can send it to me (alternative mail: frank@smets.net )tonight (untill around 10pm CET) I will sent it back around midnight so that you can go on tomorrow. BTW: The progress you make is impressive! (how many hours did you work on it?) Frank
  10. - Yes, cool! BTW: If you remember I had problems with your mod. I solved it! I`m using the german version & the campaign-folder therefore is named "Kampagnen" (german translation). If I want to play your mod (and that`s for sure) I have to create a second folder "campaigns" within the main folder & copy your mod into BOTH (Kampagnen/Campaigns)- I guess in the main menu SC2 uses the german folder but the time it tries to load the localization-data it searches for the english folder. This problem only occurs only with your mod - I guess the complete localizations you made are the problem. (If I load your mod into the editor, even the editor changes the language! - wich is quite cool because this way I know the right translations for all features!) Keep on working, I`m really looking forward for v8. (I`m now playing v7 - it`s summer `41 and I just started Barbarossa - first I thought it would be easy as I have about 500mpp per turn but Russia seems to have a lot of troops & mpp too) Frank
  11. Hello Christos, not quite sure but I think you are right (if you mean the "campaign.ini"-file). If you set the value to 1 it should be used for the map (#CUSTOM_LOCALIZATION= 1 -> "localization.txt" will be used / #CUSTOM_LOCALIZATION= 0 -> the default settings will be used) Frank
  12. - I`d like this one & - I´d like this one too. IMO cost for major should be 200-300 and 75-100 for minors for both sides so that both sides can counter at equal costs. With this two changes diplomacy (and luck) in general become less powerful & major diplomacy more expensive.
  13. Hello Christos, the map is looking better every day - "I will send you the map tommorow. The reason is simple. I do not usualy work on weekends so if you will fix some things and resend me the map on monday so i can continue." - Good idea, so we avoid "double versions". "Is there a way to import my map version 1.2 to the 1.4 update" - yes, but you have to export it under v1.02 first. Look what HC wrote -> http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=59;t=000097#000000 Really looking forward to this! Is there anything else (besides the land-bridge for the US) I might do at the weekend? What about further convoys from India/Brazil/... (like seen in Honch`s mod)? Frank
  14. Looking good so far. I may have a solution for the "East/West-US supply and move/operate"-problem. What about making same kind of "frame" (with mountain/blank titles) on the west, east and south side of the map & building a "land bridge" behind this between east/west-US. This way there`s full supply on both parts & operational movements are possible! Naval units can use "red arrows" to simulate the Panama Canal. (you see what I mean?) Maybe you can send me a copy of this map (sc2@ferrisb.de) & I`ll work on it (at the weekend - sorry no time till then). Frank
  15. I`m waiting for a world map since I first heard that there will come an editor with the game. (to stupid to build one myself) The best one so far is Honch`s mod but it`s still no real worldmap. So please continue your work on this one! Suggestions (if wanted): - Make Italy a minor & add Japan instead as the second axis major. - Add the west of the US on the right half & connect them with "red arrows".
  16. Great news, thank you very much! This will make LAN games much better.
  17. For TCP/LAN games: Maybe pre-building is a bit too much to ask, but "looking around the map or the research/diplomacy screen" would be GREAT! I have two friends that don`t play the game, because they don`t want to wait during opponent`s turn doing nothing. You can`t even plan anything as your view is fixed to the point you saw the last opponent`s action. (BTW that`s the reason I never play PBEM, there`s nothing in the world I hate more than waiting for something while you can`t do anything)
  18. Hello Caesar, you have a world-map? PLEASE send me a copy (sc2@ferrisb.de). Thanks in advance Frank
  19. The question is the same. How is it sent? (by mail through Romania/Bulgaria?) As it is a "strenghtened partisan" I guess it is a Russian partisan - so how does it get to Yugoslavia?
  20. Did I miss anything? "A strenghtened partisan is amphibitiously sent to Yugoslavia in case ..." - amphibitiously sent??? How is that done? (Through the Bosporus - a secrect pact with turkey?)
