  1. Well i use a dual AMD +3800 and a 512 mb 8500 and it runs prety good in this rig so i don't think is a problem of you pc. It give you any kind of error just to post here. also there is a way to activated the generation of a error log file but i don't remember now maybe sneaksie would come up with a suggestion. But it is better for him you let us know what kind of error if there is any it gives.
  2. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Well i have not problem with script command I am a player of those fly sim so i am use to it . At this moment i see that the units will react differeny so this time will be possible to use suppresion in some units. But my question it is possible that those units enter in panic stay, depending on the circunstances, because in TOW is very difficult that i have play some hours with the game and i have seen fe3w units on that kind of behaivour. I think this is crusila to the game not just go for cover also the panic and so simular behaivours are modeled this will make the game more realistic and more appeal to veteran wargamers. Other complaing i have seen in the forum is the way the infatry units picks the weapon it will use depending on the target. for exaple andunit picking and SMG to attack a HT have in hits invetory a AT wepon is one of the problems i have seem on the forum it is a mayor complaing about the game. ANd personally i have seem that the tanks also just fire machine guns to the inf why they don't use from time to time HE rounds?
  4. Ok PanzerRast there was a guy at the CM setion at the blitz that ask the same question that you i explain he waht is about the game. and advice him because some guys buy this game thinking it is and handle the same as CM but is not. Peronally i like and enjoy the game addicting to its style and get use to a micromanagement, something a guy looking to experinced comand and control with it won have. This is also a braind game you have to think and use your resorses wise, also use tactics an terrain to solve tactical and very difficulyt problems. here is the link http://www.theblitz.org/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=48223 My nick there is redbear415 If you ask me for a personal opinion about what to buy i would say buy boths I have both and also in the near future i will buy the marines add on for CMSF. CMSF is a totally different game that the one that waqs inicially delivered It is a very good game now. but there is some resistance to it in the CM comunity. Personally i consider CMSF far superior to CM titles. Also it is not avalable at the moment but TOW 2 show as an interesting product because it addresss the srohtr comings of the original TOW and looks very promising. the only thing i don't like is the limited missions and just one theatre North Africa.
  5. CMMODS is out for some reason there is post around all the forum about it. There is no explanation of what happen so we have to wait.
  6. i hope they will be back soom...
  7. There is not edit botton in the post well... Confirm all your saved games are useless with the installation of this mod no problem any way.
  8. ok downloaded i think could be installed over 1.2.2 lets see. Thanks for the mod.
  9. Ok the only problem here is that you have to micromanagement your infantry they do not look for cover when under fire. This is a lack on the game but is a matter of get use to it and everything sould be fine. Also this is a braind game there are missions were you have to think what are you doing and also you must know the game very well to get a good results. This is one of the things i like of this game.
  10. well i got it on the third try but would be nice if you provided another link CMMODS is dead i could not enter the page.
  11. is there a problems to saved game that seems to be not touched in the mod. could i continue them? Or i have to restart? Could you provide anothe link the one you give me is busy i could not download from it.
  12. well was sad for me i couldn't continue i hope the best for the rest of the guys playing Maybe in the next turn.
  13. Hey pal you are in the wrong forum you have to put yuor request in the tech support forum for TOW http://www.battlefront.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=65
  14. That would be a nice idea i will add a random battle generator.
  15. Well I am back was away for almost two months, any way i like the game and the improvement it has but something i don't like is the few missions it will come with i would like is this game comes with a random battle generator. will be a nice touch in it.
  16. The above chart is also "idealized" in that it isn't taking topography into account. If the gunner aims at the top of a hill the pattern is going to be a lot different than aiming at a flat spot in the middle of a fairly even piece of terrain. Relative angle of the strike area to the position of the helo is also very important. Because of recent experience of threats to helos, and the SOPs that have come about from it, we assume the choppers are at a pretty good standoff range and fairly low altitude. This makes the pattern fairly long vs. wide and not as accurate as it could be. Also remember that each individual rocket has a 29 CEP, which means it can hit anywhere within a 58m diameter circle of where it was aimed at the time it was fired. And that aim point is not necessarily where the gunner's crosshairs are. The conclusion we had back then, and I still see as valid now, is that the Hydra attacks are an area suppression weapon and not good for point attacks. I'm pretty sure that in the current beta the virtual copter pilot doesn't use rockets very much against urban terrain and/or point targets as it does in v1.08. Steve </font>
  17. agree! In desert storm the firts blow was given by apache going deap into enemy territory and killing and early radar plus SAM in the center of iraq. they do that flying nap of the earth 320 km This same war is an example how a air campaign is conducted. they firts hit communications centers them kill down every sam in iraq to the point the the ground operators where afraid to turn the radar on the us armed force gained air superiority over iraq in a matter of weeks the us airplanes and chopper acted with impunity so i dont see that syria would stand that much. by the way CMSF simulated asymetrical combat no sam system on it is not the scope of this game. Other thing about the apache is that this is and armored choper it could stand the hits from a shilka. is not easy to splahs one i dont think that a pilot in that helicopter would be affraid of a guys with ak47. Maybe a guy with and rpg could do damage to it but the helicopter could possible returm home if not hit on the rear rotor. One thing a choper pilot learn in trainig is fire disipine it won open fire at ramdon with friedly troops near by and a choper is not afighter plane moving at high speed over enemy terretory it is a slow moving aircraft they look for a good location and open fire is one thing I dont see is well simulated in CMSF. In here is simulated as fas mover the chopper attack from one location and them attack for another remoted location like a plane moving at high speed. the choppers do not do passed over the taget they look for a good location or a good rute to approach and open fire. And defenitevely the rockets in CMSF have problem are not good modelled the vidios are clear at that. [ June 15, 2008, 08:55 PM: Message edited by: redbear ]
  18. Birdstrike I think you don't read well i have LB2. i prefer LB2 over EEAH the degrada of simulation in terms of avionics is super the two stations of a longbow are simulated as the way the radar and all the avionics works Also i had the original longbow but it was the dos version the videos were super too. the point that i like in EEAH/EECH is the campaign system is very good i think is the strong point of this simulation but the avionics is much more simple like the one in longbow 2 i am talking about the vanilla one no the mods that are posted in simhq.
  19. yep i still have my old longbow copy thinking in give it a spin again there is a bunch of guys that fly it on line  I think the enemy have change this time the apache pilots won find a shilka or SAM at the next corner and a hovering helicopter is an easy target for an RPG. any way it could stand one hit it has redundant system an is armored but you will lose resorses, So keep it movil.
  20. thanks rune for the document any way i was not taking into consideration loaf bombing and the high drag munition but the document makes it clear for me. Any way i was making some bombing runs in the lockon A10 that is slower and it do not have the advance fly model so may be my confusion. so that let us with just one thing the problem with the rocket of the Apache i could accept that there could be a dispersion on the target but no the rocket going all over the place. this trully need to be addressed.
  21. I was playing a scenario of the ghost campaign that involve the use of the F 15 E and the apache support. I assign a building as a target for the F15 E and i saw that it may three passes and delivery three bombs all away from the target, one near miss 5 meters or so!!!! and the other two landed 10 meters away from the building. I not going to talk about precision guide munition (JDAM & LGB) because is not the scope of the game. i Think by the side of the crater the bomb that is modeled within the game is the MK 84 2000 lb free fall bomb. within the f15E F16 or A10 they have the avionics to deliver that bomb with precision over the target. I will just talk of the basic delivery system That is call CCIP, Continuously computing impact point ( left apart the radar and laser designation) is the simple way to delivery iron bombs like the Mk84. It is display on the HUD of the plane as a line that goes straight down and end with a piper at the end, it shows at all time when the bomb will hit if you released at that moment, it calculated the winds all is automatic all the pilot have to do is flight the piper to the target and presss the triger when it reach it and the bomb will be right on the money, not five meters or ten. You could find an example of the CCIP mode in the following article from simhq the simulator that was used to describe it was LOCKON The plane is the A 10. http://www.simhq.com/_air/air_101a.html The guy who wrote this article flown the real air plane in Germany he is a vietnam veteran and he likes to compare simulator to he real life experices . there explaint in detail how it works and it is the same in the real plane and works the same in the F15E and the F16 i not goin in detail with it. Just to make this short the Apache have a similar to aim and fire their rockets instead of a piper is a bar that turn solid when you got a good probability to hit the target with the rockets but here you have into consideration the dispersion of the rockets if the target is small but if is a house it have to hit it and the rockets go straight no in all directions. So CMSF is modern combat but the way the planes behave are not cosidering modern and seem to behave as a WWII plane that all it have to aim was a fix paiper that use to aim their guns in the case of a fighter for the quantity of bombs involve, also into cosideration a good WWII pilot will hit a building with that sigh so we got a modern troops with nearlly useless or dump air support. so the F15 and F16 are a P51 with a trainer in the cockpit and the apache is flying areobatics when it fires is rockets and the avionics of these planes do not exits. I think it have to be addressed and solve in a patch i think that the problem here is that the air support is calculated the same way as artillery it added a dispersion to turn it down but this is unrealistic that is a wrong point of view by the way the rockets behave in the apache indicates that it is a bug so another patch is needed. or is something missing by you guys and have to check.
  22. well is just wait and see i hope ther is a self preservation behaviour any way there is so much improvement in this title.
  23. well i saw the post and didn't take to much attention to it until now. I was playing a scenario on the ghost campaign and assign a target to an apache. It was to attack an at squad in the top of a small house. Well i saw all the rockets going from one side of the map to another. This is not right no need to se a video to know it. the only way that a pattern like that happen is that the pilot have his target at nine ok and he pull the trigger and them do a hard turn to the target and pass it all the way with the trigger presed. This is not a drunken pilot he is under cocaine effects to do that kind of maneuver. Steve we need a patch before the marines goes out . Is easy to put rockets on target at high speed i do that on fly simulators like lock on and if more easy to put rockets on target in the apache you have to tilt your nose in a hover to bring your target on. most of the case in high speed attacks you go straight to the target fire when in range and them brake that's the procedures. You could practises that if you find the Janes Longbow2 fly simulator humm!!! what memories. Well steve i don't want to see the cobra doing the same in the marines;)
  24. well we have to wait and as the wind blows there won be an add on will be a new title. well let see
