    1.3.4?!?

jby if you still feel like playing ill be on in about 1/2 an hour
  2. Redcon - how does late Saturday night sound to you? Poesel - could we please get cz switched over to raid for the end game?
  3. I've greatly enjoyed all the games we've played, Clay.
  4. Last night I beat Clay two times on House to House to advance to the finals. I didn't bother with screenshots of the final scores unfortunately...considering the amount of beer drank, not to mention the amount I spilled while playing, I think it's understandable. I guess I assumed Clay would take care of such things. Anyway, I don't have time right now for a proper AAR, but it was something like this: Game 1 Jung crushes Clay and takes most everything; Game 2 Jung starts off crushing Clay again, Clay wakes-up and starts helping his poor little bots organize, we battle back and forth for awhile, Jung takes lead in points again with a couple of minutes left. I'll try to write more later. Clay - did you remember to switch delta pavonis back to regular map rotation? I just looked at the network screen and House to House was still running - it could be just a coincidence, but you might want to check. This is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada (yes, we have thanksgiving too - something the British Empire Loyalists brought to Canada after the American Revolution - but due to weather ours is earlier) so I won't be able to make the Sunday afternoon matches....battle on brave warriors. 5. Congrats IG and Toby! However, it's a shame we keep losing dedicated players to the all consuming parenting role. I guess that's one drawback to playing a game with a more "mature" fan base. Maybe we need a new viper called the Stork which targets actual players with weapons like the ASGM (anti-sleep guided missile) or the 30mm PPC (puke projectile cannon). Clay, you've got mail in your tbgsoftware account. Let's get ready to rumble!
  6. Nicely done Redcon! Now, it's about time we got the matter of the other finalist cleared up. Clay, since you were the one defeated by Phonan perhaps you would like to take his place and battle me.
  7. Umm, Clay, the replays from Sunday past don't seem to be available.
  8. Unfortunately Phonan seems to be having difficulties finding time to battle it out...it looks like he might have to withdraw, but I was leaving that up to him to decide.
  9. Those were some fun matches yesterday. I think Black Canyon (that's what the purplish map is called, right?) is a lot more fun when the two teams both agree to not use mortars and focus on actually capturing the facilities, rather than the inevitable flatten everything approach.
  10. Oh yeah...looks like Phonan and I might actually be playing Sunday night, well after the usual match time - which I hope to still make anyway. So, if you could hold off on changing the set-up that would be cool. Maybe we could try-out the new format next Sunday, if possible. That would give us a week to to drum-up some interest.
  11. Sounds cool Poesel. At this point I'm willing to try anything that might foster some new tactics. Maybe we'll even finally get to see some use of hovers to transport infantry to the front line. If only the bots weren't so useless with infantry it would be worthwhile to load them up and drop them right on the coastline.
  12. I just watched some of that replay - that was a pretty intense capture the flag game. The flag disappearing was pretty bogus though.
  13. Thanks Poesel. Phonan and I are in the process of hammering out a firm time to play - not as easy as it seems.
  14. Hey Phonan, you've got mail. Now that I have home internet again, let's rumble! Poesel, any chance we can still use the Creature Zoo server to play House to House if we could tell you roughly when we're going to play?
  15. I find the best way to get the bots to drop the flag when you need it is to get up close and shoot them yourself - not very realistic but it works in the game. Personally I would like more of the maps on the server be set to obj rather than ctf. Right now it seems like we end up playing ctf more than any other type of battle.
  16. I finally got around to checking out the new replay feature - honestly I didn't know how to access it until jby answered bboyle's question - and I got to say it is pretty cool. I re-watched a match I had with jby on the weekend (which I lost) and found it to be quite entertaining. Next I'm going to watch some matches from the other players perspective I think.
  17. I'll be on today at the usual time. I hope some of you can make.
  18. Still waiting to hear from Phonan. However, the last week of August is one most likely times for people to be outside. Last gasp of freedom sort of thing.
  19. Thank you Admiral, I'll do my best to wipe the planets clean! Good luck on your academic endeavors Chilibird. I'm sure you'll do fine. I do wish we had had more opportunity to work together under the Rbentian banner, but real-life must trump virtual-life I guess.
  20. Phonan: my email is jaywilliams71 at yahoo dot ca (the at is the symbol and dot is a dot - no spaces); get in touch and we'll figure out a time that works. Indicate dropteam somewhere in the subject of your email.
  21. It was the loss of those last two dropships on the Haven CTF game that crippled us, resulting in my use of infantry to disable or destroy the flag carrier as many times as possible - which was kind of fun anyway. As far as CTF goes, this was one of the most intense such games I've ever played and was unusually entertaining. Especially considering nobody even captured a flag, although I will say you guys did get the minor victory on points. [ August 27, 2007, 06:00 AM: Message edited by: Junglist ]
  22. Had some great games today. All told, I think I played six games. Definitely enjoyed the ones where I was teamed up with poesel - before he defected to the German speaking alliance with jby, that is. One game on the Raid map where I was working with bboyle also stands out as having been pretty fun; maybe I just have a soft spot for that map from the beta testing days. jby: One day soon we should maybe play on the same team and work together. We always seem to be on opposite sides lately; resulting in many good battles, no doubt, but I couldn't help getting this creepy feeling today that you were out to get me.
