    Vin, no I mainly play WW2.   I never enjoyed CMBS, but CMSF2 is right up my alley.  i Suspect I’ll probably play CMSF2 and WW2 about 50-50 now that we are getting an updated CMSF.

    A lot of newer tech is missing from CMSF so you don't have instant reacting tanks to being lased popping smoke and backing up all the time among other things.  I am in the same camp of preferring CMSF over CMBS, but I do still enjoy other aspects of CMBS.  CMSF can be a somewhat more level playing field, enemy ATGMs for example are harder to spot. I've seen a Syrian ATGM fire off 3 rounds at a Challenger 2 and never be spotted.

    Know, O lions of CMSF, I scratched my Ramadi itch by building out the rest of the Anbar health complex, the high schools and (bombed out) Iraqi army depot on the master map, filling out an area of 150 x 400m, mostly industrial structures. Nice spot for some Marine LAVs to stalk AQIZ RPG gunners.

    MINUTE 16
    REINFORCEMENTS
    The Rear Guard troops arrived in the AO after this turn, these are the final reinforcements.  Following is an overview of what just arrived:
    Two platoons of BMP-3s.
    I have found the missing Warrior platoon.  At least two of the IFVs are on my side of the river near Point 35.9… interesting.  They can cause some mischief from there.  I am moving a few assets that way and will wait to see what he plans to do with them.  I suspect he will dismount his infantry and attempt to infiltrate my position.

    Here is an overview of movements this turn... I have pulled the four LAVs from BP1, I think the Jav team, the Abrams and the Bradley there can handle that position.
    The LAV's are driving quickly to join the dismounted infantry platoons, the USMC recon and the dismounted BMP-3 platoon.. I underestimated the distances involved and I need to mount the Syrian infantry and move them to the center position with the marines and the T-90s.  The LAVs, Marine recon troops, and Syrian infantry will assemble and start to move toward FARM 11 and 12.
    I sent one BMP-3 platoon deep and they will turn the corner and attempt to get eyes on OBJ DIAMOND, where I suspect I will eventually find a Fennek and a Warrior IFV.  I do think this is where the artillery hitting the rear slopes of HILL 42 is being called in from.

    Oh, and T-90s (and Russian tanks in general) appear to be the pretty good armor to use against infantry, as can be seen by this event (It does appear that Baneman has not read the Masked Movement post on my Blog):

    So at least the T-90 platoon is a capable Syrian formation...  that is good to see and makes me feel a little better.
    Thought you would appreciate what I have in reserve, these units are waiting for events to develop a bit further before I commit them.

    First off they are speaking Arabic which none of the rest of the force understands so it is a lot of animated gestures, expressions like “boom” and some things that don’t translate but look vaguely offensive. In other words they end up taking pics on their mobile and texting them. 😎

    Was a little busy. Actually I still am its just I got few mods done so I've decided to visit forums to share info about them. My time is limited so I'm not going to hangout a lot around here. Yet, everytime when decent amount of content will be produced I will be publishing it here. + I wondered if any new games came out.

    Nice map! Loving the CMFI Mediterranean landscape and vegetation!
    A few minor nits: except in winter (we can assume it here) or in well irrigated fields it won't be nearly so green. Lots more browns and yellows, even in the north highlands. And most of the year the watercourses will contain far less water relative to the cuts than in temperate areas. I might also sprinkle a few more cars and power poles to show this isn't a Volturno line time warp. Also, palms are still quite abundant until you get high in the mountains. Especially around houses.

    One thing that BMPs can be very handy for (not that @Bil Hardenberger needs my advice) is fire support by area firing on things that other units have spotted. To make it not overly gamey you can restrict it to targeting things their own dismounts have spotted. That is one of the major roles that they actually have.

    It can be done by Alt+Ctrl Clicking.....Add the balcony(ies) first.  Then Alt+Ctrl Click the walls to get windows but no doors on the balconied levels.  Then selectively Ctrl Click the levels without balconies to get them how you want them.  Do not Ctrl Click on one of the balconied levels as this will always add a door.
    Alt+Ctrl Clicking is the key to funky modular buildings.

    MINUTE 4
    Team 2’s AT team finished setting up its AT-7, aimed at the Scimitar near the ruined farm and let fly… the missile just skimmed the turret but hit the ground well beyond…

    …immediately the accompanying Fennek spotted the team and fired a few volleys of grenades at this team.  None hit, but the grenades were churning up the ground as they moved closer and closer toward the end of the turn.

    The AT team fired a second missile that is still in the air at the end of the first turn.  I will be pulling them out of the line next turn... hopefully they get out okay… if not, that’s okay too as long as he loses the Scimitar.  I’m on the edge of my seat…

    Neither of my vehicles in this team got a spot this turn... I will be pulling the BMP out of the line next turn in order to re-mount one of the scout teams as noted last turn.  The LAV-AT will stay where it is for now, I expect Baneman will move a vehicle or two next turn near the ruined farm, and that might help the LAV-AT spot one or both of them.
    Team 1’s BMP did pull off the line this turn, and will now wait for the Recon Platoon leader team to remount next turn.

    The Fennek at Farm 2 dismounted this turn and entered the buildings.  It does not look like he wants to push beyond the farm at this point... he is happy to sit in place and provide support fire with the Scimitar towards my UNCONs near the Monastery.

    Two of the four LAVs in my reaction force will be moving forward into keyhole positions next turn, hoping to get a spot or two on a Scimitar or Fennek.  This movement is in preparation for my Advance Guard which is just one minute out.

    The dismounts from this platoon are starting to move out on a route reconnaissance toward OBJ GARNET.  The other two LAVs are being held back in reserve.

    In DUMAYR, Baneman is pushing his irregulars hard toward mine and it continues to cost him.  My teams are going to get critical on ammo very soon though, so he might be able to get an advantage.  I am switching my teams in this area to control their own fire.  I should have noticed the small amount of ammo they carried from the start.  I’ll try to provide them some support by fire from my positions near KT2, but to be honest, the action in DUMAYR is a side-show right now and I am not intent on pushing forward at all there.
    My final Technical did extricate itself, so that will help some and it is moving to the sound of guns in DUMAYR-North.

    PIR:  Will the enemy militia/fighters attempt to seize DUMAYR?  His assault is picking up steam, but it has cost him a lot of casualties to this point. I estimate he has lost 9 or 10 fighters (maybe one or two more) to 3 of my own. PIR:  Where are the enemy Technicals?  I finally get some contacts on his technicals, they are presently located near the built up area at the western most bridge.

    Well folks, here we are again. Your favourite ( I hope ) underdog is once again risking everything ( because I have a named unit on map  ) against Bil, the evil genius.
    This battle is essentially a classic Meeting engagement between our recon elements and will escalate as our main forces enter later.
    Bil and I are both using forces from 2 nations and the makeup is essentially the same:
    Each nation has a platoon of mechanised recon and an infantry company with a couple of attached tanks.
    The battle area will also have some local guys, some of whom are on our side and some who have been seduced to the dark side.
    In my case, I am fielding elements from the UK and Germany.
    The battle is set up ( thanks to George MC ) as follows :
    Turn 0:
    Scouts - on-map in the set-up zone at the start:
    British recce platoon (Scimitars);
    German Aufklaring platoon (Fenneks).
    Turn 5 Advance Guard:
    2 x Leopards;
    German PzGr Company HQ and Obs section and the 1st Platoon (Marders);
    Artillery ( some 105's ) and on-map mortars;
    Myself as the German body HQ - performing a classic c3k manoeuver by waiting until it's safe.
    Turn 10 Main Body:
    2 x Challengers;
    Brit Arm.Inf company (all elements) - Primarily infantry mounted in Warriors.
    Turn 15 Rear Guard:
    Remainder of the German PzGr company - 2nd and 3rd Platoons (Marders).
    Bear in mind that I've never played CMSF1 and barely touched on CMBS due to my preference for WWII.
    So I am ignorant of many of the weapons systems and their capabilities.
    Just pointing out how underdoggy I am ( gotta get the excuses in early - yeah, I learned that from c3k too !  ).

    The AAR hasn't quite caught up to the latest Beta build yet. Helmets on uncons are now gone. Steve is still sorting out gear stowage on troops. As the battle progresses you'll be able to see the last remaining items on the to-do list getting done.
