Strongest Rifle Grenade Ever
Sgt.Squarehead replied to BigDork's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
I didn't say it couldn't penetrate, I said it 'would be hard pressed to destroy a BMP'.....While there are many things in a BMP that will explode, there are a lot more that won't. -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamov_Ka-50 Hush-hush stuff, please don't reveal my sources.

Strongest Rifle Grenade Ever
Sgt.Squarehead replied to BigDork's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
Actually it does not. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/40_mm_grenade It has HEDP, which would be hard pressed to destroy a BMP. -
I'm amazed at how easily I missed the obvious in this problem, ie: that the only chance of Monty offering you an empty box as an exchange would be the 33.3% chance that you picked the correct box in the first instance. Damn it's so obvious to me now, it's embarrassing!

I seem to recall reading that they have been attatched to special forces units, or are used in a supporting role for such units.....Probably a bit more manageable when you aren't facing the risk of serious AAA.

Does Soviet tactics work in Combat Mission?
Sgt.Squarehead replied to dbsapp's topic in Combat Mission Cold War
I'd imagine the crew would be a bit worse for the wear too! What complete & utter drivel! -
IIRC Israel improvised a few SPGs too, notably the Soltam etc. on the Sherman chassis.....Without actually seeing it, I couldn't offer much more (I don't recall ever hearing of German SPGs being used by the IDF). @chuckdyke's suggestion of an AMX-105 is as good a bet as anything I can immediately come up with. They did.

Very sad news. Sadly Michael wrote those words back in April of 2020, check the link in this post:

I don't actually recall saying that.....I believe my exact word was 'Undermodelled'. Which seems like a pretty good match for @The_Capt's statement above: -

This matches my own experience. -
I'm a bit suspicious of the caption for that Kingtiger.....It doesn't appear to have a turret-ring splash-guard, zimmerit, or camo. In fact it looks a lot like Bovington's 'Porsche' Kingtiger (formerly Black 300). As explained in a video recently posted on this forum, that tank (& IMHO also the one in this image), were from an initial batch reserved for testing and training purposes.

Those are truly beautiful. -
It has nothing to do with the Tactical AI whatsoever. Gran was apparently added to the Ukrainian TOE (for this fictional game), based on information that Battlefront had at the time they wrote it.....They haven't felt a need to update it, nor do I think there is one. CM:BS is filled to the brim with TOE oddities, you can either go into the editor and sort it as best you can (in an attempt to create a more realistic TOE) or you can live with it. Inaccurate comments that are completely unsupported by in-game evidence (& easily contradicted by the simple expedient of actually starting the game up and playing it) are of no value whatsoever IMHO.

AT Guns work particularly well in combination with fortifcations.....A length of barbed wire, a TRP and a single unit of Mixed Mines can make for a devastatingly effective 'urban ambush' in combination with a keyholed AT Gun & a HMG (a mortar or two never hurts either).

New Campaign Released: First into Antwerp
Sgt.Squarehead replied to rtdood's topic in CM Normandy Maps and Mods
Sounds like a fine idea to me, you should link, or better still zip, it into your file.....A nice 'user made' touch for a very nicely done campaign. -
I became friends with a little Polish dude (he & his wife adored my dogs), I asked him when he came here....."1940", he said, "To kill the Germans!" I liked him a lot! I learned shortly after his death that he was a member of Polish 2nd Armoured Regiment.....I only wish I'd found out while he was still alive.

Interesting use of one of CM:RT's unique quirks. +1.....Very creative!

Nice page, but you might want to tidy up the comments section a bit.
