Why is he wearing a civilian sport jacket? Was he captured while wearing it, or was his uniform ruined or destroyed so the capturing Ukrainians gave him something to wear?

Being captured while wearing civilian clothing, even over his uniform, allows the Ukraine to execute him as a spy under the Geneva Conventions.

    "Ukraine" not "The Ukraine" :)

Some insights about the truck problem the russians face, and it will get worse...

He makes a lot of good points. After a year in Iraq, our company's vehicles were thrashed - so much so that we left many of them in country when we returned to Germany. The military is hard enough on vehicles during peacetime, but during combat ops the abuse is ramped up exponentially.

This picture from our time there sums it up well. :D

    1) I don't care what the original plan was, and you should know by now as literally everyone on this forum should know, no plan survives contact with the enemy. As I stated in my post, things will continue until Mr. Putin decides to stop them.

    2) I never said Russia has uncontested control of UKR airspace, please read my post again, or just learn to read in general, thanks.

    3) I specifically reference the fact the Russian Navy has not been aggressive. What they have NOT done though is turn around head back to home port.

    4) I would like to see this evidence of defeat please. I'm sorting through the pages of this thread as fast as I can, but the reddit-tier cringe and literal tweet posting is ruining my vision and giving me a headache, especially having to once again observe videos and tweets of stuff that was disproven, mistaken, or redacted weeks ago.

    5) Yes, Russia is still winning. Until they are actually forced to go BACKWARDS they will continue winning. Key word: BACKWARDS. I'll say it again: UNTIL THEY GO BACKWARDS.

It's like you're desperately trying to both insinuate I'm saying something I'm not, and also make points that simply fly in the face of reality. The Russians have hundreds, or thousands of tanks and vehicles, hundreds of planes and helicopters, and thousands of troops in Ukraine. That is not what losing looks like. When Ukraine announces they've retaken Kherson, relieved Mariupol, or some other such thing, then I will be the first to say, "Yup, looks like they're winning."

Until the Russian comes to the table, or announces his intention to talk, then he thinks he's winning. If he thinks he's winning, then he still has a plan. If he still has a plan, then he's not just going to roll over and die.

Yep, that one guy in every bar.

Did you not see the entire rest of my post, or are you just casting shade because you want to wag your finger at me?

I sure did see the rest of your post, and I still think it's obnoxious that you decided to dredge up something that old just to make some sort of point.

They lost. Just have to remind you they lost. Okay? They lost. All right, let's move on.

Why on earth are you dragging up posts from near the end of last month, especially when it looks like you're just trying to poke someone in the face and say "haha, I told you so!" Skip to about page 270 and join the rest of us in the current time.

    sburke,

How on Earth can you rationally argue I'm posting on conspiracy when the a super qualified former military officer of vast experience and honorable service to this nation is talking soberly and seriously about what he perceives to be the realities of Ukraine, bearing in mind that he was the top advisor for the Acting SECDEF, Chris Miller, too? The firm he co-founded is devoted to consulting on foreign policy and defense matters, and his work has appeared in such publications as Foreign Affairs. The same pseudo-logic being used to reject what Douglas MacGregor has to say could equally be used to reject everything we've gleaned from Russian information, on the spurious basis of where we got it.

The information stands or doesn't on the credibility of the source and how it stacks up relative to the various knowns and/or logical conclusions about the subject matter, based on observables, declaratory policy, etc. The reasoning being applied here by some woukld destroy intelligence work, because anything from the other side would be automatically rejected because of its origin. I have zero control ref who interviewed this man, but what I'm seeing here in the responses is that the rejections are occurring, not on the basis of the information itself, but simply where it appears. Suggest you do some elementary research about how social media and various actions directed against sites hosting not just conservative views, but even non-mainstream views from the other end of the spectrum, have all but. strangled expression of such views.

Channels have been shut down, sites demonetized, Google ratings downgraded (if you're not Page 1, you might as well not exist)and organic search traffic suppressed, and this list is by no means complete. Have experienced some of this myself in my own endeavors. There have also been well-documented moves in the financial sector, such as by PayPal, to deny the ability to donate or refuse to process payments to contrarian persons and groups. You may also find what happened to Parler and how fast instructive.

The reality is that the ability of contrarian views to the ones promoted by the MSM and supported by the highly discriminatory and ever escalating censorship, suspension and permanent ban practices of Big Tech have made it hard to find places in which to express those views. And note well who is calling for yet more such actions and how that's being done. None of this is conspiracy theory, because the facts are plainly in evidence, and huge class action suits have already been filed as a result. The net effect of these things is to silence many potential hosts on the one hand and leave contrarians on what many consider to be fringe sites. I am keenly aware of the latest limits Steve has imposed and, as you know,I  have operated for years under an earlier set of topic limitation requests.

In any event, because I consider this information he presented to be both important generally and highly pertinent to what we're seeking to do in this thread, I've found another site which hosts an interview Lt. Col. MacGregor did on Rumble.

John, take a hint - you are derailing this topic with these unhinged rants of yours. Either take it to PMs or better, just zip it already. You aren't contributing anything to the conversation.

Disturbing plane flights outbound Moscow. Private jets going for Dubai and whole lot of RSD Rossiya Special Flight Squadron going to remote locations in the east of Russia, including the Doomsday Plane Tu-214SR - callsign RSD79.

RSD75 is still live right now on FR24. It's taken a really weird flight path - up to the northeast over Siberia, then southeast towards the direction of Kharyyalakh, then southwest again towards Yekaterinburg (where the Czar and his family was killed). 🤔

Seeing report that Russians are slowing inching way forward towards Kyiv with fighting concentrated around a couple of regions on the outskirts.

It been suggested that Russia wants to get closer to get their self propelled 152mm artillery in range of city center so they can reduce the city in a week or 2.

We've been hearing that for the last month.

I would bet money that any aircraft left on the tarmac in that second picture are damaged to the point of being a loss.  It looks like the 3 serviceable ones pulled out but the line of choppers outside those red squares are also knocked out.  That much metal flying around...

    So there is no...

    ...wait for it...

    ...getting to the choppa? 🙃

On a separate note, Ukrainian SO made a visit to Irpin. This was where, it turns out, those 4 x BMD-2 and and at least one tank, all in V markings, were videoed in an intersection. Didn't post it because there were dead Russians on the deck of the one in the foreground.

    sburke,

How about being grateful your memory is in great shape and that you don't have to deal daily with a grab bag of deficits from a TBI sustained over 7.5 years ago?

John, start using some logic and make the reasonable conclusion that something like this that was originally posted 10 days ago has already been discussed here.

I am a consumer. Its pretty simple. You have all these nations and business's supporting Ukraine and I used to hate some of the companies I mentioned. Electronic Arts is a company I can't stand and yet they are taking a stand. As a consumer I am now expecting business's that I deal with to step up and do the right things.

Great! Then when you are in charge of Battlefront, you can decide what to do with their finances. Until then...give it a rest.

We now have Steam, EA, Sony, and Microsoft pulling their games. Visa, Master Card and Paypal have pulled payments from Russia.

This War of Mine raised $850,000 in 1 week for an 8 year old game.

I find it funny that the Big Time Software (Now Battle Front) is staying quiet. Usually the discussions in this forum are pretty intellectual and yet more kids on Steam are saying to support doing something than people on this forum. Also large companies are pulling out of billions compared to the small amount you could do. Do something.

P.S I have every Combat Mission game since 2000 except Afganistan so I am a long time customer. I am not some kid feeling entitled. Its the right thing to do when you make money off of a fictional war in Ukraine.

Who in the world are you to tell Battlefront what to do with their money?

My stance is that if you are an American, when your own border is being invaded daily, who gives a flying f%^& about Ukraine's border? I don't. I dont give a rats ass about Ukraine's border, I care about mine. I got sacrificed for a third world border 55 years ago and it didnt amount to ^$^&. Whether Ukraine lives or dies I don't give a flying $##% because I'll still be breathing$ tomorrow. Maybe I'm a totally immoral POS but whatever, I couldn't care less

You can be an American and care about both - in this case especially the fact that Russia has been acting like a criminal country for ever and ever.

And, before you ask - US Army Vet, served in Iraq as a medic 04/05, saw plenty of death and suffering while I was there.
