The Black Cross / Red Star series of books are very good for those who want a look at the air battles in the East, along with the companion series by the same author (Bergstrom) called The Air Battles.

Yeah. It was sarcasm referring to an earlier posters assertion of knowing a 90 something yr old who played warbirds or somesuch online.
Just like when lucas used harpoon as proof of his expertise so i cited my many hrs in DCS as proof Im just as knowledgable as codenameduchess about aerial combat
Ok, cool.

Eh... i know a German guy who flew with Goering after Manfred got shot down and he loves Rise of Flight. He flies the DVII a lot.
Assuming that's Manfred von Richtofen, that would make him somewhere around 120 years old.

I already knew that crap man, was wondering if ai would do it in the game.
And with an attitude like that, it's little wonder why Wicky told you to try it out yourself.

Hence why you see lmg versions of the 1919 very late in the war.
Umm, but the M1919A6 was even heavier than the Lewis. Not exactly a great solution.

True, but looking at films and photographs (which have their own problems as source material, of course) the only times I've seen spacing according to regulation is when troops are near the start line or on some kind of approach march. Of couse that may be due to various reasons, but you do get the impression they tended to bunch up more.
E.g. these:
look quite typical of the photos I've seen of troops in position.
I've always liked this one when referring to how troops can sometimes bunch up:

Lucas's posts sure do make for good comic relief.

If a game is too expensive I won't buy it. Drop the price and I will.
Simple as that.

Corruption for example, is known in Russia, and Putin is known for attempting to bring corruption low.
A dubious statement at best, given that Putin himself has been shown to be at the top of the corruption food chain, such as in the documentary below:

Could anyone designing a scenario create exit zones for either side in the relevant places, this will avoid the trapping of ineffective units on the map, and possibly contributing to the opponents score.
Dude, quit posting this topic in multiple forums.

^ training and actual war two COMPLETELY different things.
Yes, and the Allied troops in France in 1944 showed they were pretty darn good at it.

You say you aren't bashing Americans, but then you proceed to do exactly that.

To drift towards Godwin's Law, Germany was NOT ready in 1935 for WW2, but the Wehrmacht was by golly determined to GET ready.
And they still weren't ready in 1939.

Sounds like Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair to me. That, or you're using a terribly outdated browser.

I'd still be curious as to who the artist was (if they are by the same person), and how these paintings were regarded in both wartime and cold war Russia
Nicolas Trudgian. Very prolific WWII aviation artist.

I'd be curious to know the background to the two paintings that featured US aircraft.
They've not really anything to do with the Eastern Front. The first is depicting an air raid on Ploesti and the second is just depicting an attack in the West during the winter of 44-45.
