Yet another reason to convince me vista is for chumps and chumpettes.
-
Just played the demo mission. No cakewalk for the USA, eh?

Well, the two big boys in the online game review world (Gamespot and IGN) have both run previews. I assume that they will do reviews as well, just perhaps not immediately.
-
Well they have said they are going to do a sci-fi game (CM:SLOD). I for one am hoping against hope for a Stalingrad game.
-
So, assuming that there is no tutorial, how long till someone makes one? Or more to the point, how long until a group of people make a really good one?

- posted September 19, 2006 05:56 PM Yes, the battles in CM Campaigns are hand crafted so you don't get into random computer generated scenario problems. We intend on letting people make their own campaigns, though it will involve tweaking external text files since there is no campaign editor.
Steve
Any word on this? Are we going to be able to make our own campaigns?

Hey Sixx, I feel your hotmail pain. Wanna gmail invite? I have lots.

Well I can run TOW ok on the _VERY MINIMUM_ settings. So, I'll prolly be ok on CMSF?
-
I was looking forward to CMSF, looks like my Gefore 5200 ain't gonna do the trick.

If I was feeling more creative I'd make a Bush "fuzzy math" joke.

The syrian SF running on the roof at dusk was very cool.
-
I thought this preview was pretty lame. There was no new info. I wonder if they even played the game, or are just paying careful attention. Note the section on uncons is ripped word for word from the blog. He didn't even bother to replaces "we" with "they"
-
Yeah, I gotta say I'm looking forward to playing the syrians as well. Maybe the uncons won't be shouting "Allahu Akbar" when they fire their RPGs, but I know I will.
-
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Iran-Iraq, too bad chem weapons are not modeled.
-
The models look excellent. I gotta say, as someone not as familiar as some with late 50s - early 70s soviet IFVs, those things do pretty much look like deathtraps.

We will have access to heavy forces. To be honest I have read Steve talk about how he would "hypothetically" set up a defense for a thunder run style op. I also recall talk that a mission may be in fact, unwinnable. It is up to you (the player) to pull your guys back before you get to badly chewed up. I don't know about you guys but when I see the thunder run: Damascus briefing I will know to proceed with extreme caution.Originally posted by SGT_56M:Read "Marines in the Garden of Eden"... Even some of the best units in the Us military can be chewed up in an Urban fight.
Being a game based on a Stryker force, this will not be all "Thunder Run" with heavy forces...
At least I would not imagine it to be.

So whats the likelihood that this would have gotten made within 24 hours of the game's release? I know I was planning on it.Originally posted by Cpl Steiner:And "Chance Encounter" is in!

From the synopsis thread
"First follow module after CM:SF
We hope to have the 1st Module out sometime before the WWII version. Our target is 8 months from start to finish. The USMC is significantly different that the US Army, both in terms of equipment and organization.
I've gone over this before, but as it stands right now (which means its just my personal take on things) we will do the following:
1. USMC
2. British
3. German based (this would likely include Germany, Canada, and perhaps The Netherlands)
That's it. Figure 8 months each and you've got yourself nearly 3 years of Modules."
-
So I've seen this a number of times. Why is that? It seems like it would be just as easy to get a SS from the more current (and better looking) build. But what do I know?Originally posted by Moon:Having said that - there is a delay between when screens are made and what the current state of the game is. So the recent screens show the status from an earlier beta build than we have right now.

Army of One =
Dumbest

Ever
I can't tell you how many times I heard "Hey, Battle, it looks like we got an Army of One over here!" in basic.
Bought game at launch, trying to re-download
in Combat Mission: Shock Force Tech Support
Posted
Hello,
I bought CMSF right after it came out. Now I understand there is a new licensing/store tech that will not let me use the original download link. Can someone assist me in converting my old license to the new system?
