  2. LOL I was wondering if you were just gonna mod it for moddings sake. I have to agree, I think BF has done a really good job, and they will be applying the same to CMBN soon. Still hoping for decals/unit markings though.
  3. tastes great! less filling! LOL I love the disparity of opinion about whether is is more infantry or armor centric. I suspect it really comes down to how you play the game, but defining even what we mean by those terms is probabaly not as simple as it might appear. I personally view it as more infantry centric, but at least a part of that is simply how I approach the game rather than any actual dynamic. I love watching individual infantry engagements. I have 2 PBEMS going both of which involve armor and infantry. I spend more of my time at the infantry level deciding very exactly where I want to be and when etc I think partly because my infantry is more vulnerable to being randomly hit. Not that I don't pay attention to the armor aspect, but I am simply not required to babysit them as much. Those spotting rounds have much more importance to my squishy units.

  5. Where those insignia reside however changes by unit. Whether as poesel71 suggests that decals may help resolve I don't know. A drop down list of divisons in the editor however is something I doubt BF will be thrilled about. Just for clarification, I wasn't referring to game maps, but image maps which potentially could be impacted. I know BF wants to stabilize those so they do not need to be redone just to upgrade a version, however they are having to do just that for CMBN. Yeah I know I would! I definitely wouldn't want to give up fire for it, but yeah if it is something that eventually they found a reasonable answer for it would be absolutely cool. As it is now I have a couple PBEMs I may go through a turn or two a night and I definitely am not going to reload mods each time. If I am going to look for screenshots however I would. It would be really nice if that were not the case and every save I load in had the unit specific images for. yeah I'd pay extra for that -

While an interesting idea - interesting enough that I have a folder set up to mod my games by division for both the pixeltruppen and the UI (and sometimes for the armor as well) - it would be a real pain for BF to code. One example is the scenario editor, selecting a unit would need a drop down with every unit represented then BF would have to code the game to represent all those and every time they needed to adjust maps they would have to touch every one of those. It is a sure fire plan to slow down any version upgrades for previously released games. So while I love the concept I would rather not have it impact game production if I am already capable of doing this myself. Once you have the folder structure done, it really isn't that hard to swap folders. DC has done a great job of preparing this for a lot of Commonwealth units in CMBN and they are already up on the repository.
  9. Yeah! Also I once read about a soldier using an apple to fool German's in MG! They thought it was a grenade and ducked allowing him to escape, so why aren't apples in CM? ! just cause I like exclamation points.
  10. Yeah I was going to send that seperately, but noticed the armor icon was also present in save 076 so I included that as well.
  11. I have a suspicion as to what might be going on and I think it may be a bug, though I'll leave that to the professionals. My guess at the moment is in both saves that show the AT gun firing AP at a target I would normally assume HE would be used, there is a contact icon for an armored vehicle. I am wondering if this causes the AI to fire an AP round for some reason regardless of actual target. I will submit, but forewarning. I have no idea whether you'll get a reply on this issue. It may very well be they will find something and fix it. Whether I am allowed to pass on information on how a ticket gets answered is not something I am familiar with and I expect the answer is no. Simple reason being the answer may be something totally unrelated. I have turned in tickets on issues and seen them resolved without ever knowing what was actually the core issue. I am not a progrmammer and do not expect to be treated as such and I do know how busy those guys are. Assuming it is a bug it may show up on the list of items corrected or it might not (and still be fixed). The only thing I can assure you of is it will be submitted.
  12. That behavior MIGHT have to do with where you are putting the next waypoint of the turn. Just a guess, but worth a look and perhaps you can try moving the waypoint further away.
  13. gonna have to but not here. W/O password they can't look at the file. Unless your opponent has access to the beta forum they won't have any ability to see. If it is a password you'd rather not give up because you use it elsewhere but are okay giving to me, I can look at the turns and see if I can't recreate the situation and send that one instead onto the progrmammers that be.
  14. LOL actually I am pretty impressed with your response so far. For a bit there I wondered what you might come up with, however at the moment anyway you seem to have established a level of fire superiority that it makes sense to try and take advantage of. That is not easy in this time period versus Shermans, they are pretty tough beasts before the big cats came out to play.

  18. Good luck. My wife who is Japanese manages some beta forums for Adobe for the Japan business. Trying to get participation on those tech forums is fairly difficult and that's with them speaking Japanese. Start the conversation in English and participation drops off a cliff.
  19. I wouldn't be willing to bet on that. If the programming says this type target should preferentially get x type of round I haven't seen any behavior where the TAC AI would use a less preferential round to preserve the one it should use. Whether in this case the HE is preferential is another question. Without a save however it is a mute point, there is nothing for BF to look at.

  21. No unfortunately not. He's doing some nice work of creating an image but they are not from in game. You can hear em, but you can't see em.

  23. I think at least part of the issue there is the more flexibility you have in your options, the more difficult it is to create a credible AI response. We all have access to the same editor to try and create something different. It isn't something I have done yet, but I expect before too much longer to try my hand at that. Whether that means I'll create anything for public consumption is another issue. Bad enough I publicly display my gaming mistakes.
  24. good point, are we expecting BF to configure different usage based on experience? If for MGs, why not for other weapons. And what will it matter if we do not have a jamming capability.
