  1. Can't say I like the way stuff bounces around though. LOL Like they are kid's models and Mom just stumbled through the middle of the airfield.
  2. That really should be in your sig- heck you should probably have a list on your SIG - or better yet maybe a FAQ page where you just post all your answers to these questions and just refer people there.
  3. wow, are you kidding? Nice overview! I had to zoom out to get a better perspective, but color me impressed.
  4. same here and I just gotta hear that mow. Maybe try on the home PC later.
  5. Damn that's like buying a cake and letting someone else eat it, you miss out on like 90% of the game there.
  6. or you could justify it that the amount of bushes etc moving justified believeing it was a larger force than just one guy... On the one hand I am all for having a lot more FOW in the game, on the other I know this has come up previously...many many times previously, but I haven't had the chance to go back and see what BFs responses consisted of (though I am fairly certain the issue is a lot more complicated than any of us would like it to be). Still one can hope.
  7. Unfortunate in the categories are dissimilar. If one takes the AT guns, tanks and SP guns from the first and compare that to the AT guns/tanks of the second you get - 61.6% vs 46.2% whereas Bazooks factor in pretty close to the same. That "other" is an odd one, what is accounting for that 10% difference? What do both references use "other" to mean? Lost on battlefield due to immobility (fuel?) or aircraft?
  8. Very nice, it can be difficult to make the Marder effective. In Hamel I was able to immobilize a Sherman, but the Marder died in the effort. Looking at the timer in your screenshot, does it really say something like 1:42:xx? Ouch, hard to hold a defence together that long unless you have add'l reinforcements expected.
  9. LOL well it definitely gave me a double take. Besides what else have we to do untill the patch/version 2 and MG come out for CMBN? Damn BF, they have just absolutely spoiled us.
  10. Man as much as I have played this game, if you'd asked me that and put money on it I'd have said hell yeah the Germans had separate ammo bearer teams at least in CMBN....and then I looked. I'll just go off quietly by myself and ponder my apparent uselessness to the world.
  11. I am not so sure I do. Just went in to editor. There are Heer and Luftwaffe formations available but only armored infantry. I created a scenario with a Luftwaffe armored Infantry and a Heer Amored Inf Bn and cycled through both units. The only Ammo bearers I could find were on IG and AT guns. Went to specialist teams, same deal.
  12. That bridge have a gap in it right at the far end shore?
  13. Is there any long term financial consideration? If not I'd get CMFI now and CMBN afer the upgrade. Might as well get used to the new UI etc rather than learn the old and then have to learn the new later. If there is it really comes down to which theater you like. CMBN will cover up to and including Market Garden - note it will not include the Bulge. It will shortly (say 3-4 months?) have it's second module which might also be a financial item to think about.
  14. yeah, one never knows what BF might come up with over time. While it would definitely possible to play aspects of the fighting it would make a huge difference in the overall reaction and purchasing of the game that I'd think BF would want to wait until they could do choppers. Still I'd be willing to buy it without them and hope for an eventual upgrade
  15. I don't believe that was directed at you. In all fairness a lot of people have been asking others to make them. After a while one gets this sense of entitlement from folks asking for mods to look a certain way, maps done for X size or capability, scenarios dedicated to HTH/AI (take your pick) play. The game you paid to play has what it has, asking for ANYTHING else is generally a request for someone to do something for free. However none of that is relevant to your point. Artillery IS a pain, but I don't think it is ahistorically so. Now that does not mean you can't enjoy CM without Arty, you just simply need scenarios without it. Off hand I have no idea how many of those there are. I really enjoyed Bad Day at Red Beach in CMFI, the only arty there is the small company mortars. The thing is though, the larger the battle, the more the expectation of battalion and regimental support. Folks who design them are going to design them that way. If you take an existing scenario and try to cut out the arty, odds are you would seriously alter the play balance. It is a bit of a sticky issue, but yeah I can totally get wanting to be able to have an infantry on infantry battle without getting wonked by a lot of 105 HE rounds.
  16. maybe. More often than not I have gotten away with taking out TCs depending on the terrain. However if I had no AT weapons available, I doubt I'd bother opening up. You have little to gain as the tank will only be discomfited briefly if it loses the TC (I have driven off a tank with nothing more than rifle fire and a rifle grenade in CM though).
  17. question for ya, your FO died a while back and your arty not only cycled through spotting but went to FFE?
  18. Damn Bil, you seem to be ventilating his Shermans for him all over the place. Looks like you killed the one and two others have got to be in a bad way. This doesn't bode well for ND, the balance of firepower capability is swinging heavily your way. If he doen't find a way to shut down your Pz overwatch he isn't gonna have much left to protect that infantry. I wouldn't rest yet, but looking back not too long ago the odds of you achieving your objective have increased dramatically - says a lot for perseverance.
  19. Just for clarification - I don't play RTS, ever. I am strictly a WeGo person. As to the other, there seem to be a fair amount of threads on "how can you even play this I had this one scene where.... fill in example" I play a lot - I have 3 PBEM opponents and I also had to play a lot of scenarios against the AI for testing. While yes there are occasions where I see things that likely shouldn't happen, they are far from so broken/often as to totally ruin the game as I keep hearing. Respectfully I wonder how the heck folks are playing the game to get those results. It isn't about defending the game, I have nothing at stake here in terms of any ego attachment to BF or a financial commitment. I certainly don't program so it isn't like I am just being lazy to not have to fix things. The only option that leaves is either I am just trying to be a contradictory PitA (which I probably can be at times, but honestly I am not trying to do so here) or for some reason I don't seem to get the same results anywhere near as often as some others. Which then leads me back to my question. How are folks gettting these results they say they see all the time? Could it be a matter not just of the game, but HOW you play it? I am not talking RTS vs WeGO here. It is just a thought as unless my PBEM partners tell me I am just oblivious, I am just not gettting overwhelmed with these kinds of issues.
  20. and most of the time it will not. If it were a regular thing, that I'd be freaking over, but it isn't and I don't. For it to NEVER happen would mean a lot of other things never happening that should. Re run that same turn a few dozen times and count the number of times that happens. Why is it gamers seem to be the last ones to understand what the limitations computers impose on the games they play? Every game has them and for the forseeable future every game will continue to have them. Is there any comparable game you would take seriously (that is not meant to be sarcastic- it is a genuine question - there aren't any out there that I have seen that aren't either totally about eye candy or just aren't any good - I have yet to see anything of CM's caliber.) On the other hand think about what you are seeing here. When would the US army ever rush an M7 past a town occupied by German tanks. Kilkess's joke notwithstanding, M7's are not tank hunters, they really are artillery pieces. If you play the game totally unrealistically to begin with, do you really have any business calling the game itself out for anything that happens that normally shouldn't?
  21. The round hits home and the rest of his team is now looking and waiting for.... These guys. You want to keep those pistol armed uber tank crews at bay? Shoot them. We will see what happens, but I am betting this is one crew that isn't going anywhere but to the rear- if the few left are lucky enough. Notice how much calmer my guys are now than when they heard the tank approaching. That's too bad really as there is another tank to their left and they are out of PFs..... Don't get any ideas JonS - I made sure you can't tell how many more teams I have spread all over this field.... dozens, no hundreds.. THOUSANDS!!!! Surrender now, it is your only chance.
