Playing the Allies I have a British HQ in Alexandria supply 5 and two hexes away a unit in the fortification at El Alamien is supply 3? The Axis come up fart and my unit dies. It should be a supply of six?

I am sorry you at once dived to the low Troll road. I own ALL of the SC series from number one. I have purchased duplicate copies of most all of them at full retail to give my friends. As my younger relatives get old enough to play I look forward to perhaps getting them as gifts to those whom, may or may not take to them. As I am near retirement age I do try to be wise with my money. Buying a gam or bundle on sale for some one who is new to this would be a better investment, than the sure bet of someone wanting to play these whom I have already bought for. By my own personal count I have bought 38 Battlefront games and copies over the years.
I hope you can reflect on your self imposed moral high ground as it does not reflect where I stand.
But if we do not make a means to expand our niche game players it will die out.

Hairy I have been a fan of this series since SC1 , however I find the Mods to be the absolute contributions to this excellent system! Big Al has made some superb mods in as well as Kurt Eichorn!

Having the engine gives Modders the tools they need to expand the game in some very interesting ways. I have always really enjoyed the super sized mods that give manure room while still maintaining an operational feel to the game. Hubert DOES put out a GREAT game. For me personally Honch, Calm before the Storm, Brute Force MODS have made the game for me I bought every game and expansion from. SC1. Also I have played said scenarios both solo and PVP via email. If a player does not know about player Mods or has used them, then they can not have seen what a Masterpiece this gaming system is.

The best part of these games are the player MODS that eventually come out. Yes the game as is, is truly 95% size wise useless. However once some of the superb player mods come out the map become 90% very relevant and enjoyable.

I certainly did not intend to sound so much like a flame, but I feel this would so help broaden the re-playability and play VS players of different skill levels.

The solution IS and always has been play balance and handicap PVP as and open game set up choice. Everyone before a game knows the setup parameters. I will not play friend
A or friend B as they are too good and too fanatical at winning either separately or as a team against me. Friend C refuses to play A or B or for the same reason, but also has limited time to play so will not even learn to play s my experience would lead to a situation to similar to what I receive from player A & B. But would buy and learn the game if some play balance was available.
Now to the reason I am Madder than a Hornet. Friend D and I reconnect after losing contact of near 15 years. He would love to buy and learn the game but wont as he doesn't want to be massacred. My flipping nephew who I tried to justify to Hubert for years to add PVP play balancing moment has p[assed he would rather play Borderlands, Skyrim, or any of another RTS or FPS games. It is criminal that we as a gaming community can not address a simple solution to bring in new player and balance the game between vast expertise of skill levels due to whatever weak justification for all these years that this would be an easy fix.
If nothing else it makes economical sense as to broaden the player base.
Here we have 6 people three who have the game and will not play due to skill level differences and three who will not learn, or play knowing they can not begin to play because ok skill level differences. In this small group there exist 50% more sales revenue, that do you not only do not get but the playing of said game itself is at zero between these six avid gamers???

We can play balance the A.I. why not PVP play??? Why do I have to address this vital issue for OVER a decade?

It is a GREAT game system, absolutely amazing, but unless you only wish to play solo VS the A.I anyone who has a knowledge of the game will cut through you like a knife to hot butter in a PVP match. Very sad, we cannot adjust the setting to make the game forgiving to the novices and challenging to the veteran at the same time.

Since SC I have been playing this series, since SC II I have unsuccessfully asked Hubert to allow the settings as to experience and production be change for PVP. Hubert your comments then it would allow for cheating? I do not see how as the host who generates the game it could be shown to the recipient as to what the game settings are. I have NOT played SC much the past two years although I have loyally bought all the new editions. The reason? In my gaming group there are two players whom I play against and have quit playing because when we play a game they will play themselves 50 games hot seat at home against themselves to rule out all events and variables. I can not get a handicap setting to compensate for their insanity.
Secondly when trying to initiate a new player to whom the game IS overwhelming I can
not give them a handicap to make the game more fun for them and challenging for me. WTF!!!!!!
Why can you not see to grow the community we need to make the game more adaptable across the board instead of the same old group of all of us who post year after year. Being a small elitist crowd make you all feel better about your abilities and sacredness , it does NOTHING to grow our gaming community. This will produce sales and the ability to broaden the games player scope. Why this feature is ignored and overlooked is beyond me.

I have gold on my old XP drive but how do I get it transferred and working on my new windows 8 drive?

I upgraded from windows XP to windows 8 it destroyed my old files. But my computer shop managed to save then on a hard drive. I have tried to copy and paste them on my new C: drive and have my e-license. How ever when I try to launch it says I must install and activate, SC global gold l first? and does not ask for or give me a chance to license?

Well these games were going to be gifts for my nephews. Trying to bring in new recruits, god forbid that. So I bought them Dragon age, Skyrim, and Borderlands 1 and 2 each. And they will love them and not learn strategic command.
