  1. To complete the scenario, do you actually have to take the fight to the Jerries? I've knocked off the initial German attacks - knocking out 8 AFV's and 50-odd infantry, for the loss of 7 Poles and one tankette - but now, nothing is happening. However, I am loathe to take the Polish force forward as it lacks mobility and protection and would be easy prey to the residual German force that I anticipate is lurking around the first trench lines. Is there a time limit I should be aiming for or do I have to exterminate every German on the map? cheers
  2. People really need to calm down a bit - some of the cr*p flying from one side to the other is totally OTT. Anyone who pays money for a product has a right to express an opinion on that product - whether it's positive or negative. To whose who accuse the neg critics of being 'whiners' I say: give them their chance to get it off their chest. To those who accuse anyone who is actually enjoying the game of being sycophants or BF employees I say: grow up. Ghost1 et al, you've said your piece and simply regurgitating the sentiment 'the game is rubbish' ad infinitum is tedious. I am enjoying the game so far; I do not work for the company nor for any of its partners. The game is not perfect but, to be honest, I can think of few games that I have bought so early in their product run that have been perfect. Ultimately, it cost me $45 to buy - hardly a lot of money. The game is a great effort at capturing a level of tactical warfare with a concomitant level of graphics and interface that I have been seeking for some time. I will certainly be following TOW's future development with great interest and hope that the kinks - large and small - are ironed out in future patches and releases.
  3. Hi - I'm working on combinations on the infantry-tank team. There are obvious benefits for tank crews of deploying infantry with tanks in terrain heavy with enemy AT weapons. But do the infantry gain any real benefit from moving closely behind armour (besides having direct gunfire support) - ie, do they benefit from being 'in cover' behind the tank, does the tank's armour add to the resilience of the infanty? I've just played a scenario in which I deployed three M4's with a rifle platoon - and moved a squad behind each tank. The force was fired upon from their 12'o clock (ie, straight ahead) and my infantry immediately hit the ground, pinned, and did not return fire for nearly the entire turn. I would have thought the natural reaction would have been to 'hug' the armour before returning fire. any thoughts? thanks
  4. got it working! I uninstalled the whole of CMAK, reinstalled and then ran the patch before opening the application. I then dragged the 1.03 exe into the folder with the 1.01 exe; created new shortcut and, hey presto, it worked! thanks again for your help and advice

  6. thanks again for your input - I'll give those a try tomorrow and post back to how it's gone cheers
  7. Hi - thanks for the idea there. I've found the dll files you mentioned and have installed the patch in that folder - and still nothing, same error message. Any other ideas folks? thanks again
  8. Hello I've got the CDV CM Anthology discs. Am trying to download the 1.03 patch for CMAK. Download goes ok; am asked in which folder I wish to run the patch (I've tried all the folders associated with CMAK). Download finishes then, when I try to run 1.03, I get this message: The application has failed to start because OpenPlay.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem I've tried to reinstall the patch several times, but to no avail. Any ideas? many many thanks!
