  1. I actually appreciate that you guys keep TO&E as accurate as possible to what units actually had. Especially seeing as how I'm not always up to snuff on what vehicles each unit had at [insert period/battle]. I really just didn't realize that the Heer wasn't equipped with any Panzer III in Sicily! So that was an oversight on my part. I fully understand that, I thought it a bit of an oddity to just have left it out entirely. Thanks for the explanations though, always appreciated! Now if you just add those WWII photos back into the loading/titles screens... Tschüß! Erich
  2. That should be an easy fix and, I would assume, it's the same. Though we see where that has gotten me thus far! I plan on trying some modding to FI soon so we'll see if everything works the same. Thanks, but I did know that much already! hah Since you are here Mikey, I was always curious, did you lend your modding prowess to the model or graphic design of the vehicles in CMx2? It really seems like your style from the many (wonderful!) mods you made for BB/AK. I would know, I used all your vehicle mods when I played old CM! Tschüß! Erich
  3. That was my understanding as well though I believed that Heer Panzergrenadiere were also equipped with mixed amounts of Panzer III as well, so that was my confusion. I also checked Tiger groups as well as, I know on the eastern front, Panzer IIIs were included as support tanks in Tiger Abteilungen until they were eventually phased out. Though I didn't think that was the case in Italy, Panzer III as support tanks I mean. Tschüß! Erich
  4. Wow, that was quick! Thanks for that! I didn't even think to check the Luftwaffe equipment. Seems I need to do some reading up on TO&E for the Sicily engagement. However, am I right in the notion that the Panzer II isn't available in QBs in CMBN? I don't believe I've seen it for any branch's purchase options. Tschüß! Erich
  5. First off, I want to say great job on getting the game released in August. I've been a pretty avid supporter of your products and I've bought every CM installment thus far so I really appreciate what you guys are doing. No other tactical simulation scratches that itch for me. I appreciate the module style, if for nothing else, that we can get content sooner than waiting extended periods of time on a full release. It looks great so far, it seems to run more smoothly than Normandie but looks, in my opinion thus far, more refined. The map designs are also much better than what CMBN released with. I hope that the incremental patches and such will even out CMBN so I can just feel as if I'm switching theaters of war instead of switching back to a lesser version of the game. I digress, my whole question was actually about the Panzer III. Why isn't it in the quick battle purchase options? I really hope I can use it in QBs, just like I wanted to use the Panzer II in CMBN...but it wasn't there either. I was so excited about using my undergunned Panzer III so I fired up a QB and...well, disappointment set in. Is this a design decision or something? I would rather not have to always play scenarios JUST to use the particular vehicle in question. Leaving the Panzer II and Panzer III out of QB purchases just seems silly, half the point of a QB for me was always being able to jump into a battle and enjoy whatever equipment I felt like using to simulate whatever. Maybe I'm missing something and it's there, but if it isn't, please add these back into quick battles. Oh, and just a little side note, put WWII photos back into the loading screen as well as the ammunition belt loading bar! That looked great! 3D game models for the loading screen are just so...plebian. tl;dr: Love your work, where is my Panzer III in QBs, gonna go postal on BF HQ if demands aren't met. Tschüß! Erich
  6. As much as I understand that early war themed games aren't as profitable as the more typical late-war and especially ETO-based games are, it's still very unfortunate. I would love to see an early war France/low countries based game with the CMx2 engine. There has never really been any good games similar to Combat Mission that feature the early war battles and it would be an absolute treat to play them, especially so with a Combat Mission title. I wouldn't know what to do with myself and the sheer amount of time it would take from my life to play a series of CM titles that featured Poland, France/low countries and Denmark/Norway. tl;dr: Combat Mission early war = a wet dream come true.
  7. The German model 24 and model 43 stick grenades could be thrown significantly further than non-stick grenade types due to the obvious lever. The stick also provided more control over where a grenade could be thrown, ie; accuracy, as well as keeping the grenade from rolling as much as an egg shaped or other non-stick grenade. Aside from the obvious advantage from the stick itself, it was an "offensive" grenade, meaning it relied solely on explosive power rather than fragmentation. Technically, the German stick grenade was more powerful. The StiGr 24/43 had 165g of TNT as compared to the American Mk.II's 2 ounces, roughly 56g, of TNT. However, the fragmentation of the Mk.II is what made the grenade deadly and was the mechanism relied upon to cause casualities. Actually, the egg grenades (Eihandgranate m39) were "offensive" grenades as well. However, just like the model 24/43, there were fragmentation sleeves that were made to slide over the grenade itself. Though the fragmentation sleeves for the m39 weren't developed until late into 1944, the model 24 already had fragmentation sleeves from earlier on in the war. It's disputable whether or not the fragmentation sleeves worked as well as intended, but they were produced in quantity none the less. Nonetheless a fair amount of the model 39 was produced during the war, though much more uncommon in comparison to the iconic stick grenade.
  8. You are correct sir. If memory serves correctly it was one of the only factories still completely intact by war's end. Tschüß! Erich
  9. The FOW was full but they were my crew. And they were stated as infantry crew the entire time. Always happens in TCP/IP, never single play. Tschüß! Erich
  10. Seconded very much so. Poor Mikey... Tschüß! Erich
  11. For some reason unbeknownst to me just today my CMBB, and only CMBB, began to be afflicted with the text box bug. I searched through as many threads as possible trying everything I could to no avail. I thought that with so many threads and so many answers, one should work. I was sorely mistaken, much to my chagrin. First I tried playing with the anti-aliasing, that did not work. I tried reinstalling drivers for my old GeForce5700LE, both old and the newest 93.71 driver, that also failed. I tried deleting & reinstalling the game, that too did not work. And just for kicks I tried the Radeon text fix which of course did not work. After all this tinkering, and with just CMBB and not CMAK afflicted with this nuisance. I have run short of ideas. Any and all other ideas are welcome. I'd rather leave reformatting my PC as my last resort... Tschüß! Erich
  12. I think I now understand what you are saying. That there only two bmps for the StuG IV mid and the rest are 'borrowed'? Tschüß! Erich
  13. I know a StuG IV mid is not listed on CMMODS but they are there. Such as Flesh's bicolor camo scheme StuG IV mid. I have an interesting camo schemed StuG IV mid for both CMBB & CMAK. I can email pictures if you need proof. Tschüß! Erich
