  1. On the topic of new vehicles, I thought along the lines of gunships and aerial attack, and that maybe it would be nice to arm say a Viper (or Dragonfly) with auto targeting weapons. Of course, now, autoguns only can target air units, but I think giving them air-to-ground abilities would make for Drop ships that could easily attack and maneuver. Just an idea.

    I have tried every way I could think of to put a Turret (which is the only vehicle auto-targeting weapon) on the Dragonfly and still have it fly. The code will just not allow it. It is probably the same bug that will not allow two turrets on a vehicle.

    And speaking of multiple turrets, where is the BOLO (Orge) we were promised??

  2. Things that can not be done:

    Limit the range on a weapon to a set distance. Even the lowly 10mmAp rifle can fire out to 6000m, u wont kill anything or likely even hit but it can still reach that far. Any rocket/missle launcher will fly to the end of the map or crash at your feet.

    Infantry can enter buldings. If the unit is a infantry type it will enter buldings. This is not a modable feature.

    I am not sure about mines. That code is not accessable.

    Those things being said all the other features are can-do and have done. :D

    Thor KC-L-T is how it is in the game. But your right it does need a name.

    And thank you working on that.

    FYI the blade is a modified cutter blade some it won't be perfect. I know I just had to make things difficult.

  5. Well the first Semi-final match is over, and the winner is RedCon. The games were split one-to-one.

    Game one Redcon 2084; ThePhantom 548

    Thinking that the South West corner was the key to this map I planed to take it early and dig-in. Pulling all of my units to dropships except one cutter. However ThePhantom beat me to the punch and had his forces deployed at the South West complex waiting for me.

    Here I changed on the fly and made up the rest as I went along. I shifted focus to the North East Corner and secured it quickly, thus gained the points advantage. By leaving a Cutter in place I could control those points.

    One of my beginning tactics was to place a Bacchus with Hermes support just off center of the map. This gave a encompassing AA umbrella that had the over all effect of scattering his forces to remote drop-sites and as a added bonus eventually killed all his dropships. But this tactic came back to haunt me in the second game.

    ThePhantom seemed to focus on killing my Bacchus. This gave me some breathing room to hunt down his units (Cutters) with some spectacular tank duels.

    With about five minutes left I noticed that his bots were coming in out of his deployment zone. It was here that I dropped in a Mercury and did my best to turn the Western road into a killing field with turrets arty and lots of bot wrangling.

    In the end the points never shifted from my control it was a pretty clear victory.

    Game Two: ThePhantom 1730; RedCon 1159

    This game was much more of a fur-ball. The points swung back and forth about seven times. The last swing was in ThePhantom’s favor and he well deserved to win this one.

    Guessing that he would again go for the Southwest complex I started off by dropping the engineering squad into the North East corner complex only to be met by his whole force. But my squad made it to cover and even scored a few kills. This move was my saving grace. Any time ThePhantom captured the main buildings my squad would take it back.

    My details of this battle are fairly sketchy since I was busy hopping from one unit to the next trying to keep up with ThePhantom. And as I said before my tactic would come back to haunt me. ThePhantom got a Bacchus close to the map center and my bots responded by flying to the four corner of the map. So while trying to reorganize my bots I had to hunt down and kill his Bacchus, easy, yeah right.

    So after killing his Bacchus I tried to mount a counter offensive but there was no time left and my bots were still too scattered to do much. However that lone Engineering squad who just hunkered down keep the points close enough to make the first game the winning match.

    For the Thor T KC-L and the ATGM I'll need somebody to give me the wireframe-unwrapped-pngs.

    I don't have one for the Thor. I've been working on one for the ATGM cant seem to get it layed out right. Want me to e-mail want I have?

    The dragonfly is a very impressive model. Would quite like to give that a texture once it is finalised. The main problem with that one is the ATGM turrets which aren't actually connected to anything...

    Thank you, for the compliment and the offer. Your quite right the turrets are not attached. That is were I want the turrets to go and how I want them to move but I have not figured out what the mount should look like. Any ideas?

    Also if you look closly the front ion gun is hovering too, I'm thinking of moving it to under the nose.

  7. The Thor T KC-L is done. it is just a thor chassis with a modded cutter plow on it. Also the ATGM squad launchers. And if you get really bored smile.gif the sniper rifle and RTO radio pack could use some dressing up. Well you asked smile.gif

    Bunkers,huh? I haven't done a bulding yet. Maybe just use barracks bulding as starting point. Put those down on the map where you want them then switch out the models later?

    Some maps are quite small I agree,but others such as "The Mesa", "The Dam", and "Volcano Peaks" offer lots of manuver space. With one note: you must fly NOE to live.
