Can A German Find Happiness Without the Peng Challenge?

I guess that we're past due, then. Will the next be an extra-special invasion to make up for its tardiness? -
Turning hull towards biggest danger
juan_gigante replied to RSColonel_131st's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Yeah, there should be a pretty big rarity hit on the psychic TCs. Still, this is something I'd like to see. I think it goes on the long list of little things (like ready racks, IMO) that would be cool and good to have, but I wouldn't want at the expense of fundamental gameplay quality. -
Idea for sharpshooters (reduced borg spotting)

That makes me happy in my pants. -
Turning hull towards biggest danger
juan_gigante replied to RSColonel_131st's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
I don't think that this applies while in combat, but when at rest and just kicking it, if you give a tank a rotate in one direction and a cover arc in another, the turret will point to the covered arc, and the hull rotates to the rotate point. I'll bet, though, that the Tac AI would break those rules when shells start flying. -
When I become a billionaire, I will have built for me the fastest computer possible to create by man, and I shall play the entire battle of Stalingrad using CM.

What's a CM forum without the Peng Challenge?
juan_gigante replied to Mace's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Sheep. It's one of those fancy words that is the same both plural and singular. Example: Your mother is a sheep. All your mothers are sheep. And furthermore, I don't anyone should let the laws regarding animal marriage get in the way of true love. -
I remember hearing about a T-34 at Kursk who rammed a Tiger and then fired pointblank into it. The explosion apparently destroyed both tanks, if the story is to be believed.

Play between differing modules
juan_gigante replied to imported_Wildman's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
You could, but it would have to only use units, tilesets, etc. from the modules that you both have. So, you could play base and Normandy 44, but no Brits or Mediterraean. Unless I am confused or somefink, I believe that this is how it goes. -
Pic-ture! Pic-ture! Pic-ture! (chant to To-Ga To-Ga)

I'd like to see the CMBB cover art font on that, but besides that... -

Whoa, Scipio. You use inches and meters? Won't combining the two cause the universe to implode? Come on, man! We forum members can't follow two distinct systems of measurement simultaneously! Next you'll be talking how many spans something is! -

Oh, Sir (Sir) 37mm, calm down! Just because your prissy little machine gun didn't kill any of my guys doesn't mean that you need to use italics! -

Keep your pants on, 37mm! You're the one who owes me a turn! You sent me a turn on August 24, and my inbox says I replied to it. This evening I shall check, but I believe that my turn sending has been up-to-date. -

Any time that someone ends a post with "Woof woof!", I feel better about the future of humanity.

Units and how they are controlled
juan_gigante replied to Battlefront.com's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
We don't have 1:1 control, only representation. That just means that instead of having 3 little guys in CMx1 per squad, we now have a bunch, all of whom run around and do stuff. But even though you see every guy, you only give orders to the squad as a whole. -
You can turn vehicles off with control-v or shift-v (can't remember which) and you will only see the guys sitting in it. Plus, it is easier to select the passengers as opposed to the half-track itself.

That's odd; I wouldn't think that the Space Lobsters of Doom would still be using Nebelwerfers.

I FOUND OUT THE THEATER OF CMX2!
juan_gigante replied to Znarf's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
The birds chirping would do the job... I think that "Just Cause" is a really bad name for a small-intervention type operation. When I first saw that, I thought "Operation Just Because". I don't know about you, but "just because" is not the image I want to give with my military operations. -
