  1. Should I just post this bug in the tech assistance forum to get noted?
  2. I hope you make some of that money too. In other news, any info on the bug front?
  3. Thanks for the offer Bill, but I can't. My computer is 500 kilometers away and my mother's sucks (not to mention I'm leaving that behind too and going to some beach). It's an old 350 Mhz Pentium 2 (with windows XP for some stupid reason) that runs SC so slow it's almost unplayable (not enjoyable at any rate).
  4. Ahh, I see. He also misspelled Axis in his first post in this thread. He used a pretty weird spelling for it, 'A l l i e s' :-p
  5. My parents are insured and stuff in Alpha Bank, but I didn't know it had spread to Romania and all. What exactly is your job for them? Anyway, did anyone other than Terif test this bug?
  6. What about my Bulgaria (or Switzerland, though less so) suggestions? Would they work or do they suck?
  7. Look the aim isn't to attack the enemy Air Fleets back. The aim is to keep your MPP losses into the cheap (50% cost) reinforcement department and not have to buy new units and do the opposite to the Axis player. Idealy you keep your rockets and Air Fleets back till you get reasonable tech (perhaps put 4 chits in rockets and 4 in jets, 1 in AT and 1 in Industry, you don't need anything else) like you usually do with Russia anyway. Then attack with ground troops to soften up land unit and kill with the rockets and perhaps even Air Fleets if you have to. The enemy Air Fleets are bound to be spread out along the front and can possibly cover a lot of your front-line units, but none or few of them will be able to reach your rockets or Air Fleets directly, except through forcing interceptions. He'll have to move his Air Fleets closer to the front-line first and concentrate them, because unlike front line armies which he can attack with at least 2 of his to soften them up before sending in the Air Fleets for the kill, he needs more Air Fleets to kill a single behind the line unit, especially ones in cities or mountains, entrenched and with strength of 13 or more. And even if he does kill a rocket unit, that probably saved you at least 2 armies you could have lost in the front if he spread out the air power a bit. Think about it. The point of your Air Fleets is simply to give them some losses and avoid the uber-experienced Germans problem. The biggest problem with this strat is tech luck as always. I'd go with a corps defense early and buy a few rockets while they're cheap and invest in tech. Then wait to see which of Jets or Rockets tech goes up faster and go with a strat that suits that.
  8. Well do you really need Greece anyway? Though you may support your attack with an Air Fleet from Yugoslavia and sink transports or even hit the port or whatever they will merely delay you anyways. You can even get lucky and get a 10% increase from the LC gambit and you won't need Greece at all. Italy starts at 65%, +5% for each conquered country, 70% after Poland, 75% after Norway, 80% after Sweden, 85% after Denmark, 90% after Yugoslavia, 97%-100% after LC gambit. Perhaps you could even attack Switzerland. Or better yet attack Bulgaria since Romania and Hungary will still join you if you do that. Anyway I think perhaps the better way of getting Italy in the war soon is baiting the allied player into attacking the LC and then be ready to counter with units from beyond his sight (so as to assume you're not ready) and get 1 hex near Brussels (and 1 near maginot, easy) and Italy will join soon with no need for dangerous moves. PS: I just had a weird idea. What happens if Allies declare war on Baltic countries? Does Russian readiness increase when Axis have Baltic troops? How many troops do they need along the border to not trigger the too few/many units thing?
  9. Which corps will UK land there? If they move the Med corps then Italy joins so to hell with Greece anyway. Any other corps takes away from the defense of France or even the defense of Brittain. Besides the Allies have to guess you are going for Greece many turns in advance to be ready with any sort of counter. PS: My question was if the above countries are enough to bring the Italians in. So are they? Does each conquered coutnry count for +5% no variation?
  10. The Russian Air Fleets would be defending the rockets. Think about it. The rocket units are behind the front lines so they can't be attacked by some of the German AF. They also can't be attacked by any of the land units which cause most of the damage required to kill a unit in the front. Also with high tech rockets it will be very hard to kill all their strength points so they will cost you only reinforcement costs which are half the replacement costs (buying a new unit). On the other hand you can kill his front line units with no interceptions bothers and small help from your front-line units. Your rockets can be placed in cities or mountains and be entrenched and stuff. The only problem is that this strat depends on luck (tech) and the rocket damage decreases with range. I honestly don't know if it's efficient, but it's certainly something new for a change. I'm just tired from the same old same old. PS: My problem as Germans against the Allied AI was that I took Russia so fast that I never had time to use rockets, to bring them into place. I know this isn't a problem in multiplayer with bids and all. So I now thought of the reverse situation. All it really needs is some lucky tech, or perhaps rockets should have 1 more range to start with to be competitive units and not worthless crap nobody uses. What's Hubert's opinion on this? Does he think rockets are ok as is?
  11. No nickname here, Komninos is my name (m is for my surname), I'm Greek. :-p But I'm getting pretty frustrated with this bug. I expected a quick 'oh yeah we see it too' but I get Terif saying opposite things to what I see and it's getting weird. I don't know what's going on anymore. 12. Weird, the supply is correct for me when I reload for that turn for units that have moved. The problem only happens after I click end turn and I tried it on 2 different computers.
  13. I never thought of using rockets as USSR (or even as Germany for that matter) as efficient weapons, but with the introduction to your bid playstyle I'm thinking of the Katyusha defense. What if the USSR invests heavily on rocket research and supports its defense with rockets that don't lose as bad to German Air. Keep your own planes in the back so they can't be directly attacked and only intercept for your rockets. You can use them to kill off German units and cause many MPP losses. It's probably not the best strat, but could be cool for something new and not stale. So how about buying 10 chits for USSR with the bid money and putting 5 in rockets, 2 in Jets (you don't need LR and AA is banned though it could help in this strat) and 1 in AT, 1 in HT, 1 in industry. Or something like that depending on how luck goes and Axis research levels.
