  5. I sent an email to BF when the server went down awhile back and - if I recall correctly - I was told by Clay and Madmatt separately that updates were forthcoming, but nothing here since then.
  6. Fair enough and thanks for the detailed response. I do love QBs, and I was never one of those gamey bastards who set up ideal parameters and preyed on naive opponents. I liked the randomized factor and even all-random games (much more fun than you'd think). The red:red/blue:blue feature in this game gives QBs a heck of a lot of potential, so I really hope it's looked at in the future of the game/engine.
  7. Yeah, I've seen it since I received my pre-ordered game! Not to complain too loudly, but are QBs ever going to be fixed? Guess I was disappointed to put my trust back in the game after several patches, after hearing that it was fixed, only to fire it up and find this big glaring error the first game I try.
  8. OK, just started a PBEM QB in 1.07, as I haven't played since 1.03. But a bug I reported way back when surfaced the instant I loaded my first PBEM file (other than the initial password files): I get an FO with no ammo (Red versus Red). Or am I overlooking something obvious?

    1.3.4?!?

    Claytonius Rex hasn't posted about of any of his updates since...well in months. No explanation for the lack of explanation. He posts in the tournament thread though, so he's still alive. Granted there are about six people in the world actively playing the game. No offense, I'm just a bit sour that a great game is just sitting here languishing...I keep updating it, although I don't know what for, and the servers are empty every time I check. What's the future of this game? Anyone care to guess? Any developers care to weigh in?
  10. APCs do not fire ATGMs *properly* period. This has been a problem since CMSF came out. I have posted here and there about it since the game came out and I am surprised this has not been a priority. If one APC is faced with another there is no reason why it wouldn't fire an ATGM, especially at a distance--if the targetting unit is not moving; yes, I understand this must be the case. If it sees a tank in overwatch, hulldown or whatever this would/should be an instantaneous response. No delay, no waiting for the AI to decide, either that or there must be an over-ride for the human player. Absolutely. I would rather have units out of ammo than not use their ammo. Especially in this setting, where a single TOW is a guaranteed kill. Nothing like a tungsten round in CMx1.

  12. Those are great maps and thanks for making them. However, the most irritating QB bug for me is when FOs show up without any artillery to call in. Now that we have maps for every contingency...it would be nice to have that particular bug squashed.
  13. Yeah but units will leave through the wrong doors. I am playing Ambush in Al-Fubar PBEM, and in the first turn I ordered my sniper and RPG team in the mosque to leave through the back door. They promptly left through the front door and strolled into the sights of an M240. Not only that but they went into the street, when there was ample room to go around the mosque behind the cover of walls. I just don't get why they would have done that. They had clear movement orders to go out back and, using buildings as cover, set up in a nearby building.
  14. Yep, playing a night time scenario where my M1128 sighted two Kornets and simply fired three or four bursts of 50mm over about 30 seconds before it was obliterated. Two rounds of HE could easily have been fired instead. This post may seem anecdotal but I have noticed and commented several times upon main-weapons-system impotence in 1.02. In 1.02 it was mainly the Bradley and BMP-1 that I noticed. I don't recall what the M1128 was like in 1.02. In 1.02 I noticed that Bradleys and BMPs would not fire ATGMs at one another. Not sure if this is the case in 1.03. It would be nice to know if this is a design decision or if there are plans to do some tweaking to vehicle behavior. That said I do realize 1.02 was mainly a bug-centric patch, so hopefully this is a known issue and it will be addressed.
  15. The blast option worked for me through walls, but when I used it inside a house, they all filed through the door instead. But otherwise it looks and plays better. Looking forward to a 1.03 PBEM.
  16. So if I have movement commands issued that pass through buildings, but most of the squads with movement orders sit there for two turns, it's a bug? I thought it might be command delay...but then again that's a heck of a long time.

  18. Yep, saw a Syrian crewman get wasted by a hand grenade in one of my first games. Both he and the soldier were in a building.

  20. Me and a few other opponents have been trying to make WEGO work. QBs are broken (see tech forum) so which scenarios work best in WEGO?
  21. Thanks for the feedback, I do want to be sure they know this specific problem exists though.
  22. Bump. Noticed this in a number of other QBs, as have my opponents. Only seems to happen with PBEMs. Simply put: units arrive outside of setup zones in the setup phase and cannot be moved.
