  1. Tournament News Group A: Amadeus (Axis) beats Teamgene as (Allie) All in all 6 Axis wins and 6 Allie wins.
  2. We don't have to discuss that here but Octobre 1940 could lead to an issue. I just write an email to you (tman, llhnickerson and Altaris), to tell me how you are going and what problems may appear in your group matches.
  3. Group E: Some news from Steelman out of Group E. The good is that he is at turn 94 against tman and the match is near to the end. Not that good is that his match vs. Altaris is a bit back as the are in summer 1942 (must be about turn 70/75) what is too slow. Steelman is in good mood to win both matches. Hopefully we will get another short report from llhnickerson cause he do not play steelman. That would complete all matches.
  4. Yes, that is why I recommended mirrored matches. Another thing we may rethink is game speed. Most of you players played about 1 turn each in group phase what is 2 turns a day. Others are slightly behind that. In fact we could play much faster and I just wait for the last couples to reconsider this. Maybe up to 1 1/2 turns a day or more (for semi or final). Or next round (Last 12) if all players are fine. Anyway, any match that starts now could easily played till 1945. And I wanna take in mind "Fair Play". The only way to slow down the match is starting late and stoically make 1 turn in 2 days. I am hoping nobody do that.
  5. OK, here are some notes to make things clear. 4) That means the minimum turns you have to play. 130 for single matches, 105 for mirror matches. When playing 1 turn a day (as minimum) you will playing 130 or 105 days. BUT you could and should play till the end. Example: I lost my match against Isnogud after 132 turns. At turn 130 I still occupy Manila (and were theoretically the winner) but due to the fact that we could play some weeks till Decembre I could not finished my match and have to play on!! That is no option that is a must!. So I surrender cause he dominated me and I have no chance to fulfil the victory conditions at the end of the group phase in Decembre. 5) Minimum 1 turn a day but maybe more should be played (averaging) 6) When playing a single match you must play 130 turns minimum or more. If you play a mirrored match you must play 105 turns minimum or more. You are right "It might be helpful to give an end date of second round." but I don't know the date yet cause group phase have not ended yet. I will set a date when the last match has started. That means all players who started early maybe now has more time and the opponents must play more than 130 turns. That will lead to better results (I hope). Sorry for confusion! Cannot edit my reply with the rules. So take this information as a commentary/appendix
  6. Group F: Some news from Gary out of Group F. Gary is playing 2 mirrors, turn 97 and 107. Very close matches and still open who will win. Thanks for the report. P.S.: I still need some actual informations from bracket E.
  7. Tournament News: First result from Group A: Isnoguds Axis beats Amadeus Allies after a great fight.
  8. Tournament News: Here are the new Rules for the Tournament: 1) Every player needs a NAME and an EMAIL ADDRESS for playing this tournament. 2) Strategic Command WWII Global Conflict Assault on Democracy, Patch v1.02, is required, please update! 3) “1939 World At War” is the Default Campaign to play. Mirror matches are helpful to find a clear winner and explicitly recommended. At least only 1 single PBEM game is required. Watch rule 4! 4) “Playing time” Every match has to be finished in 130 turns. If you play mirror matches you still need only 105 turns. 5) “Playing speed” At least 1 turn a day has to be played in 105/130 days averaging! 6) “Victory conditions” Due to the fact that it could be difficult to finish a game in 105 or 130 days the Axis minor victory conditions decides the match. Axis minor victory conditions are (after 105/130 days in tournament): Berlin, Rome, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Manila Allies minor victory conditions (after 105/130 days in tournament). One of these cities in Allied hands (REMARK: I know that the Allies minor victory conditions are different to this but we need a clear decision after 105/130 days) 6a) “Mirror Tie Breaker” When playing a mirrored match the 6 cities may not be sufficient to clear the overall winner of the match (1 win each). If so 8 minor cities will come into effect. These are Moscow, London, Delhi, Canberra, Stalingrad, Cairo, Chungking, Singapore Victory cities counts 2 points, minor cities 1 point to verify the overall winner for both games. 7) “Changing side rule” Every player has to play Axis AND Allies in the course of the tournament. After playing one side next match should be played with other side. Other agreements with opponent are possible. 8) “Group phase”: Already finished!! 8a) “Play Off Last 12”: Play Offs begins from now till 105 or 130 turns are played. Also watch rule 5! 9) “Default settings” Options and Advanced settings are Any changes to this options should be arranged before starting, such as Soft build limits, Retreats, Fog of War or something like that. Script changings are not allowed!! 10) “Fair Play Rule” Any issue or gaming that defies to fair playing could lead to exclusion of the tourney.
  9. Tournament News Group B: Clausewitz beats Don in a mirror
  10. That is a big Issue in playing this game. Take the lowerleft pic when I take the russian city in the north of the caspian sea. When marching forward you have to make sure that the units you place are enough to hurting the enemy and you have a HQ-supply. Otherwise, the supply is dropping under 50% and the units are without (or very low) effect. To do this it is important to concentrate on particular targets. Do not share all units to all possible places. "Who defend everything is defending nothing." Especially single air units will suffer more damage than inflict casualties to an enemy when placed without HQ into the sticks. Ask yourself, what is the recommended duty and are these units enough to take the next target (city).
  11. Tournament News MonsterClaude beats Calculon Tomi beats Calculon All in all we now have 2 wins for Axis and 4 wins for Allies. With this 2 additional matches we have 2 pairs for the next round. MonsterClaude now plays Ludi1867 and Pacestick has to play against Tomi. Interesting matches but please wait some time cause I wanna adjust the victory conditions first. Group A: Everything is fine, all matches started. Group B: Everything is fine, all matches started. Group C: Everything is fine, all matches finished. Group D: Everything is fine, all matches finished. Group E: Everything is fine, all matches started Group F: Everything is fine, all matches started.
  12. Thanks Hubert, we will take that in mind and act on this assumption as a starting point for the tourny. I believe that victory conditions deserves a closer attention in the future (not only SC2 but SC3!) too. Maybe it is possible to mark kind of waypoints particulary in Multiplayer. I have this feeling since our discussion here and even before.
  13. OK, based on your requests I will make a finetuning for better victory conditions. Nothing serious but a good compromise on what you said. Keep me informed here and in the tourny thread.
  14. Group A: Everything is fine, all matches started. Group B: Everything is fine, all matches started. Group C: Everything is fine, one match finished. Group D: Everything is fine, all matches finished. Group E: Everything is fine, all matches started Group F: Everything is fine, all matches started.
  15. A simple list sounds very good to me. Let us work on this and talk about it here. What do you think which cities are key objects? DC, Berlin, London, Moscow, Rome, Tokyo, Seoul, Paris, Manila, Delhi, Canberra, Stalingrad, Cairo, Chungking, Singapore. Do we need more? And what cities received 1, 2 or 3 points? And finally how many points should go to a win for what side?
  16. Report Ultima (Axis) vs. Amadeus (Allies) Right now I have a victory cause Manila is in US hands. The bad news is we played to fast and so I think Ultima will turn the match. The first turns I was very good. The key in favor for Axis was Turkey went to Axis as I take Iraq. Spain is now Axis too. Only Egypt and GB is allied area. Axis seems very strong now. Maybe I was lazy in the mittle (1942) and I underestimate Ultima.
  17. OK, here is my short report: Amadeus (Axis) vs. Teamgene (Allies) Russia is on schedule in 1942, Caucasus is very good (Turkey already overrun), India/China is pretty good so far and Australia soming up. Not sure at all but I hope for a victory
  18. I would support this in any case. For future games also!
  19. Sorry, my fault. He can play on bigger screen but he told me that 1024x768 is the best screen sizes for his eyes. So this issue is a minor one.
  20. Is there a solution about the screen which is too big for the monitor. The screen is 1024x768.
  21. OK, he can repeat this in using the editor with symbol_sprites (512x256). If he uses 512x512 everything is fine. I hope you can handle this I don't.
  22. Hi Hubert, it is not really my end. But I will ask Andreas how to make this issue.
  23. Do you developer already know these issues on 1.02 Editor?
  24. Tournament News: Group D: All matches finished. You may watch the draw above. 2 Allied Victories and 1 Axis Win
  25. I agree with you guys that we have to watch the best victory conditions. Because of this I am happy that you made this thread. For me the jury is still out.
