  1. If anyone should be still interested in the Battle of Budapest, this is the link I wanted to show half a year ago, but could not find it: http://mek.oszk.hu/02200/02235/html/kepek.htm
  2. Ok, here are the questions for the first scenario, freshly from the desinger of it. ===============SPOILER================= The mission might be easy, but consider it as an introduction/tutorial to the whole Mission Pack and to get a feel for the Hungaians if you haven't played 'em before. (Dont bother, you will get your butt kicked. Too soon) ) Advancing armies got forward very easily at this point of the war, and had to fight encircled troops, or troops which have been left to cover the retreat. The "winding up" went easy in some places, while in other locations resistance was fierce. Individual units are bound to places, to simulate the "command push" ("Befehlstaktik") which was common in the Red Army during this time (contrary to the "Aufstragstaktik" used by the Germans.) Tovaris Kommandris said the Maxim has to be there, so it HAD to be there. So the mg covers the right flank of Soviets, the open ground. The designer did not wanted the AI to mix things up. The AT gun covers the road, and the left flank. Since the soldiers in the village are encircled (however you can only suppose this, since you don't see the neighbouring sectors) they try to inflict the highest possible casualties on the advancing Huns. (They MUST have a good political officer) So they thought setting up a trap would be THE deal. They wait until the Honvéds enter the village, and try to strike them there. It might work out... ...or not.
  3. More useful links regarding the siege: http://anastacia.webdomain.hu/1944/ (Check this for the pictures - KÉPEK. Be sure to click on each of the botton menü points, and then on "KÉPEK".) Lots of pictures: http://www.osa.ceu.hu/galeria/index_hu/sites/ostrom/tabloossz.html There was also a great link, which seems to be removed by now about the battle, with great illustrations. Maybe I can find it.
  4. Despite the fact that I haven't read it, AFAIK many of the guys who designed the scenarios did. (I just made some translations, and the installer, so the praise must go to the scenario designers.) http://www.historynet.com/wwii/reviews/wwiireview0306-1/ Luckily, it's written by a Hungarian, and is also available in English. If you are intrested, I can look at the availability of the used sources in English.
  5. @zmoney: The desinger of the scenario told me, that: "The reason for the three individual Toldis is that they have been hastly moved forward to the front from the field workshops to aid the advancing infantry, and their radios are broken down. The 3 individual Toldis simulate the difficulties resulting from this."
  6. The zip is up: http://wargamer.hu/gamefiles/hmp_for_cmbb/hunpack.zip
  7. Is a Zip suitable for you? If yes, I'll make another download for Mac users. (And that's what I call customer service) )
  8. Hi there! I made the installer with the thing in mind, that it's easier to use it then to copy different files. Don't bother, you do NOT have to backup anything in your folders, since it does not overwrite anything, just creates the 6 scenarios in the Scenario folder. If you have finished it, and don't want to have it on your computer just use the uninstaller (Start Menu -> Combat Mission Barbarossa to Berlin -> Hungarian Mission Pack -> uninstall Simple, isn't it? We thought about getting some of the different Hungarian themed mods into it (starting screen, new skins) but dropped the idea finally due to concerns about overwriting things, that people might not want to be overwritten. So it's just the missions, which are thoroughly researched, so we hope you enjoy playing them. And there are more of them to come.
  9. Here are the promised pictures: Somewhere in Russia http://combatmission.uw.hu/HUNMP/vhor.JPG Korotojak http://combatmission.uw.hu/HUNMP/kor.JPG One million blooddrops http://combatmission.uw.hu/HUNMP/emvcs.JPG District of the rich http://combatmission.uw.hu/HUNMP/dotr.JPG Zurück on Chainbridge http://combatmission.uw.hu/HUNMP/zoch.JPG Sons of Zrínyi http://combatmission.uw.hu/HUNMP/soz.JPG
  10. Alright folks, here is the list of the missions included: Somewhere in Russia (42 June 29, fictional) Korotojak (42 August 8, historical) One million blooddrops (43 January 16, semi-histroical) District of the rich (44 December 20, semi-historical) Zurück on Chainbridge (45 January 17, historical) Sons of Zrínyi (45 February 11, historical) This is just the first mappack, watch out for more to come. We welcome all feedback on the missions, no matter if good or bad. I'll try to dig up some screenshots for you, to get a feel of the missions.
  11. Looks great IMHO. You got pretty close on what is written on the sign. It says: Beware!!! Enemy sees into the defensive position. Hide yourself!!! On the right side there is a symbolical map, with "Enemy" (Ellenség) and "Defensive position" written on it.
  12. Yepp, the third one looks nice. Maybe you could have used the same font, but without "BOLD" turned on, but thats only my opinion.
  13. There is no such thing as "Landmine" in Hungarian, in the way as you tried to translate it, by separating it into "Land" and "Mine". Anti tank mine is "Harckocsi akna" plural is "Harckocsi aknák". APM (which you could mean by landmine) is "Taposó akna" or "Gyalogsági akna" the plural would be "Taposó aknák" and "Gyalogsági aknák". But wait until Bardosy clarifies this.
  14. You mean it only works for games in PBEM, and no TCP/IP net games ?
