  2. I've been following this, and I've still come to the conclusion that something is a little screwy about the handling of devestated squads... while I think it's perfectly fair to say, a squad that's been cut down to a couple of survivors would be prone to stay head down on the turf until danger passes, I would also say that with a suitable NCO or junior officer hanging around the remains of the squad would be absorbed into an existing formation.. in combat or not. However, NEITHER of these occurances actually happens in CM. I mean, it's hardly realistic to have a single grunt representing the remains of squad to go soldering on his lonesome simply for the sake of preserving his orginal squad, yet this is what occurs in CM. This might be applicable for a specialist, but the reality is a rifleman would either quit entirely and sit the fight out or get picked up by another squad. I realise such mechanics were/are probably unfeasable from a game engine point of view, it's just one of the quirks of human behaviour that are difficult to model.
  3. Just as an aside, are flamethrowers still used in modern armed forces? I would imagine it they were they make sure the 'embedded press' isn't around..... still if someone asked me to carry a large case of jellied gasoline on my back and run at that nice machine gun I might be forced to object rather strenuously....
  4. Is it just me or does that guy on the turret seem like he's a victim of the infamous "German Army Cheese".....
  5. Does this mean that two understrength squads are incorporated into a single squad for example? I thought each remaining squad just got a few reinforcements?
  6. Hi all! I realise it may be a bit gamey, but wouldn't it be nice to be able to reform scratch squads out of the remains of infantry? It's not much of a reflection on my playing style I realise, but I'm frequently left with squads of infantry with one or two hardy souls remaining, which frankly are about as useful as udders on a bull. Surely in reality such survivors were incorporated into existing formations for the remainder of the battle? It would be nice to be able to lump together a bunch of puny single member squads into one full strength squad, perhaps when under command from an HQ?
  7. Aha... I'll give that a crack..... My poor little mac is stand alone so I've been downloading off a P.C. and dumping it onto my Mac... I'll that with the downloaded file and see where I get. Thanks to everyone for your help.... there's few who appreciate a mac anymore....
  8. Hi all, Long time watcher, first time caller! Has anybody had problems importing downloaded scenario's and maps into CMBB or CMAK on the Mac? I've downloaded numerious scenarios, and transferred them to the appropriate directory, but upon entering CMBB, it would appear the new scenario's do not exist. The newly imported scenario's appear as .cme files, however, all the other scenario's that came on CMBB have a .CME extension. Has anybody experienced a similar problem and does anybody know how to get downloaded scenario's up and moving on a Mac? Cheers!
