  1. I find some extreme chunkyness when there are lots of units and smoke on screen. I don't know what the frame rates are but it really slows down somewhat like the old slide show issue with CMSF. I have a pretty decent machine too. AMD dual core 2.70, nVidia 9800 GTX. 4 megs Ram, Vista home premium.

  2. Purchased..downloaded..started up... put in license via copy and paste from my confirm email so no typos..it has 32 caracters....I get an error that say unable to install license and gives error number 501... come on guys whats up with that? I demand satisfaction...which means being able to play the game

  3. I read that whole thread. I didn't see where anyone came up with a definative answer. Doesn't look good. I have seen when Steve and Charles work on something they always work it out. I'm afraid that this is not a priority for them right now. What I want to know is this. Is anyone out there using Vista 32 bit with nVidia 9800 GTX or GT card with 182.50 driver playing with no problems? If so, do you have any suggestions at all. THANKS.

  4. Thanks Cpt for that. You are a big help. I agree with everything you said for every question. I do have Vista 64. I will say the crashes occur randomly...at no particular time.. it seems to me it is always when I am am just clicking around trying to view the battle field. I have played as much as 10 turns and saved and closed without a crash. Then somtimes it happens in the first turn or two. Weird.

  5. Long time CM player..I have tired of it of late.. all the new games look much better than CM, this one included.. The demo seems tough for me to play being true real time..I give an infantry unit an order.. go off to issue some more unit orders only to return to the first unit and find it wiped out. I can't seem to keep up with whats happening. Is there a secreat to playing real time games? How does moral and fatigue work.. is it along the lines of CM..the perfect tactical war game to me would be one that plays like CM and looks like this. Graviteam a russian company that developed Steel Fury has a tactical game coming out based on the Karkov battle that looks unreal..if it only plays with the realism of CM I will be in heaven. I'm looking for something new..please convince me that this game is it.

  6. Thanks for responding Cpt. What I think is a main stream war game company with a product that has these problems with what is a main stream video card is odd enough. But, to have no responce, nothing, nada, " we don't give a damn", from the developers (two guys I think) is discouraging enough for me to just write off the whole CM series which I have purchased each issue and every module. There are enough games in the pipeline that seem to be overtaking Steve and Charles anyway. Sorry. All I wanted was just a little advice.......then maybe there is no answer.....

  7. Thank you for taking the time for your reply but I must admit I don't understand a word. I find it hard to beleive that I upgrade to what is a fairly standard card (nVIDIA 9800 GTX) in order to run other games and now CMSF which always ran fine on my slower card, has this problem. It may just be me but I think that if I was in the computer game business I would be sure that these problems didn't exist. Very discouraging for a guy who is not computer savy but loves playing these types of games..

  8. Not criticising...Just giving folks an idea of what machines run this game and which won't. The game will not run on mine at all which is:

    Pentium 4 3.2 megs

    2 gigs RAM

    ATI Radion Pro 9800 - 128meg

My machine is 4 to 5 years old now. If yours is this spec or less this game will cost you about $1500 to enjoy. No matter I still have some great games I can play.
