I have mentioned for years, I think a better approach would be to just have 3 scenarios. One for blue, one for red and one for H2H, and in truth you could also make one for hard challenge and one that is easier.  Trying to do them all in one makes its hard, you really only make it right for one as to being balanced in the sweet spot and that is verse the AI

Its nice the some clubs keep this type of data, but it will likely stay at such a source.
I am running a Tournament right now, that the players are going H2H with scenarios I have thrown together.
Now my goal is always to get a balanced scoring system for both sides , but it seldom happens.
Because I have learned that the two players facing each other will affect the score much more than my tweaking of the score  as to what the finial results will be in most battles.
Now after I see the results from 15 battles, yes it is easy to adjust the scoring to make half of those battles show winning scores from those result, and that is really about the best way to do it.
I am afraid that the scenarios in testing do not get that amount of play throughs to do that balancing.
but with what is tested, adjustments are made to try and make them balanced.

Good question, What is a real war anymore.
It has become such a detached thing for powerful nations.
For the poor people that are living in locations where the fighting is happening, its all very real presently.
But its only for one side that the effects are really felt.

But at some point in the future, the powerful nations will turn on each other as they seem to always do, and when that day happens, both sides will feel the affects and you might not be able to sit at home and feel safe by seeing some news clips  on that large TV while sipping a cold one.
When your own country becomes a target and the nations people suffer, then a war becomes real.
How is that for a definition.

Well, since china owns so much of the US, they don't want to hurt us too much, it would be bad for the economics of their own country.
We really are getting to a place in this world as to how we are all linked together in many ways that we should be striving to become one in purpose  instead of continuing to try to see each other as a enemy that we think we need to fight and kill.
The only ones we need to worry about are those in charge,  pretty much in every nation, its those in power that are the real enemy.

Well, for those of you that like your long range duels, I will say, I have played at least 5 scenarios in the package, where long range engagements are a thing. But a few of them are not representing Germany land shape.
So for sure, you will fill some of that need you all have for that type of fun.
I wish I had the time to test all the stuff in these games, but as long as I have to work somewhere else to get a paycheck, it will never happen.
But agree, verifying what the units in the game are actually doing is always a good thing. And yes once in awhile , one is found doing improper results

ok, I was referring to a M60 A3 version before.
So just to tease you with the forth coming game.
I did a quick test  of dueling tanks, pool table conditions at 1300 meters.
T64A VS M60A1 (WITH NO EXTRAS)
ALLOWED COMBAT FOR ONLY ONE MINUTE.
    Both tanks unbuttoned

    Results.
T64a was the first to spot and fire
    30 tanks tested.
    11 - M60A1 losses
    1 -T64A LOSS

BILL WAS RIGHT IN THAT THE T64A IN THIS TEST ANYWAY WAS ABLE TO WITHSTAND MORE HITS THAN THE M60
AND THAT WAS A FACTOR FOR THE RESULT.

Running test on the game I can inform you that there is very little spotting difference as to time between the units.
Position and actions in the game are a bigger factor as to who spots first than the tank unit doing the spotting.
The M60 does have a spotting advantage.

And since most rounds on target will be kills from either side, the side that spots first has a huge advantage.

If you place the units out on a pool table and have a duel. The M60 in the game has a overall advantage.
But playing in battle conditions, I have found the parity to be closer than any other game period BF has produced.

Well, you are correct as long as those things are available. And yes, if you study recent conflicts against inferior forces that is a common way things are handled in present combat.
But there will always be situations where the fighting will come down to infantry doing what infantry needs to do. So do not think  those basic infantry tactics are a thing of the past, they are not.
If any major conflict was to happen again, I always wonder how fast would the forces run out of a lot of high tech options and even just munitions.
The stock piling and inventories of these type of things might not be as vast as one might think. The cost of doing war has changed that as to the numbers.

My feeling exactly. The playtesting has made me rethink how best to use my armor assets once again.
The training back in the day always taught  that those that spotted and fired first would win the duel a large percentage of the time.
In this game, this principle is very, very true.

It has a feel all its own compared to the other CM games.  But no question about it. In general, the forces are more evenly matched in most aspects.

I AM that old that I got Panzerblitz when it first came out. At the time it was absolutely amazing. Such a change in wargaming. And then Panzer Leader.
My real reason for answering is to add that in addition to which tank is better in the lab, I will say that using tanks of any kind in this game requires a change in thinking. It's not modern warfare like SF2 or BS. M48A5s are good tanks for their time, but ALL the older tanks are brittle, on both sides, even against each other. I found in my play testing I almost always had to play like I knew I was facing tanks of much better quality, playing either side. It was either that or leave a lot of smoke plumes decorating the battlefield. I've played as US with M48s and had them exploding all around me, thinking "Damn, these things are useless", and then played the Soviets thinking I'll set up a nice overwatch and plink away at the M60s in the valley and had my T62s and T64s shot off the hill like so many bottles on a fence. Hull down, keyhole firing positions, "Hunt/pause/reverse" fire and move plots, using the ends of treelines to snipe from behind, are real keys. You just can't stay exposed. This may all seem obvious, or maybe not. Makes for a lot of fun.
Having been an Army officer at this time and after, what they used to drill into us was "If you can be seen you can be hit. If you are hit, you are dead." This is SO true in this game. (note that I haven't used any M1s yet, but they are early M1s so not the land battleships of SF2).
    It's gonna' be fun.

CM has been a hidden gem and its good to see that finally, there is a way for more people to find it.
But even looking at the new blood that are getting into the game, it sure is easy to see that it takes a certain type of person to even want to play these games.
It sure is not something that appeals to the masses.
