It could even start from October 1940, beginning with the Italian invasion and continue to April 1941 with the German conquest where the Commonwealth Expedition and the Wehrmacht and the SS (Liebstandarte) as well as Italins and Greek forces are availiable to take part. (Not something that is only Aussie centric and being apparently ADF restricted.) Some very interesting things happened in that campaigne and if the Greeks are availiable they should also then be included in the Crete campaigne as well. IMHO, CMAK is perfect for depicting and simulating the events. This would be historically correct and a good opportunity to appeal to the pride of any Hellens out their in CMAK world, since I'm sure that there are quite a few.

PS: BTW what does IIRC stand for? I can't bloody fingure it out!

Thanks for bringing the subject back on line guys.

I have asked for buying this Australian version some time ago but my request it was denied from battlefront.

I believe that it would be very interesting in buying the whole Greek campaing.

Why not Battlefront sell it? Even on line only?

It would be very interesting to play these battles for a lot of people and I do not think it would take a lot of time or cost to develop it.

    Lets hope...

  2. Thinking out of the box is how I translate the meaning of this parable as put by Steve.

Not sure though if my idea is within the context of CMx2.

So, think of a game without turn 1 min limit and the player to be able to alter orders to his units during the turn play.

There would be an orders phase but when the turn starts the player will be able to interact and give new orders but with a limited scope on the pre existing orders.

On top of this they player/s could have the option of adjusting the turn limit to lets say 5 minutes. This could done if both players agree on how often they want to stop - pause and create new orders phase. Others could decide on 1 minute others could go for 3,5, 10 etc.

This idea might give a whole new perspective in the game, since is dealing with the constrains of the time vs real time playing.

Hope it helps your creative thinking Steve.

Other ideas: go real time but at squad level.

BTW, the link that Micheal Dorosh refers to is here

One thought about your next project. How about the scenario 5thSS PzGr Wiking?

This scenario which has reached a total of 5,500 downloads in the Scenario Depot is maybe the best scenario created by a player - Abbott.

Depicts a unit occupying in August 1944 a small village when battle suddenly comes from seemingly no where. It is a tense fight with sparse German assets having to hold a position in dense terrain.

You can find it in Scenario Depot menu path: The lists, CMBB, Battles, top 20 downloads

    Cheers Spartan1 ;)

  4. Ta say some more:

The idea behind CMMC 2 is to create a friendly game that simulates operational level warfare on the eastern front during WW II. CMMC2 is a single operation based on a historical situation, but will vary details to create the uncertainty that exists in any military operation. CMMC 2 uses Battle Front’s “Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin “to simulate tactical combat. The operational aspects will be governed by the CMMC rules that have been used for the previous CMMC games, adjusted for the eastern front.

Human players will fill positions from each side’s overall commander all the way down to individual BN commanders. The game will be maintained and run by a voluntary game masters (GMs) cadre. The GMs will handle the interaction of the Russian and German sides to resolve the game situations and preserve the Fog of War (FOW).

    See for yourselfs:

  5. Hi all,

I was surfing and found this great site that shows lot about CM players creativity - which is in my opinion one of the basic aspects of CM great success. CM games permit so much creative input from players that in the case of this mortoni.com site is fun too. I hope that CM x2 has the same effects on players.

    a battle with pictures enjoy

I thank the author for his excellent work.

  6. Dear fellow CM community members,

It is not my intention to create yet another thread for posting messages that try to resolve Steiner14 sig issue . But I feel sorry …

… I am very sorry to see all this debate about Steiner’s sig becoming a flaming subject that threatens CM community as a whole.

… I am very sorry to see fellow community members – even worse senior ones, no to be able to deal with a matter that undermines in my opinion the integrity of this community.

… I am very sorry to see my daily visits to this and other CM forums to turn sober since the forum has become a battlefield between a member – that is already in silence, and all the rest of us – including myself.

… I am very sorry to see members attacking dead threads. If we continue like this some we may even reply to Steiner posting years ago!

What is the purpose of all us being here? What do we have in common?

In my opinion: we share an interest about history, especially military, we can all communicate without prejudices and finally we all love the CM games.

Where do we all come from?

From different countries which have been into 2nd World War from many different perspectives, but they managed to forgive each other – being the victors or the losers and this is mutual understanding and piece.

Do we see all this happening in our forum? Lately no.

I do not want to see all this becoming an endless debate about the validity of a sig or even worse for some us to examine political beliefs of a fellow member and throw him – unjustified so easy, to the nazi party.

Can we all forgive Steiner? Those of us whose feel offended by his sig? Others that feel offended from his postings?

Can Steiner forgive us? For all these literature developed by some members that accused him true or false about his beliefs. Can Steiner take back his sig since so many where offended? Shall we see him again in the forums? – I doubt it after so many insults.

Who is going to be next to being accused? And leave the forums? Maybe all of us, who do not agree with this treatment.

Can we all forgive and recover our mutual understanding? I hope yes.

P.S. If this matter continues personally I would prefer to leave the community forums for a while and maybe come back later in the future. I do not intend to spare my time in endless debates and lose all my interest in this community which I like so much.

Hi Willbell in fact the opposite I will respect and hear your opinion. First of all you are a fellow player and secondly we are all here a community with common things to share. In any case I made my point about freedom of speech as long as it respects the others as well.

Me personnaly I am convinced that they sig is not verified but we should not make it so much an issue.

    .

That is exactly the freedom of speech. To be able to speak your opinion - assuming that you follow some basic social and ethical rules.

That is the essence of democracy everybody to have an opinion and be able to express it. If others do not buy or they disagree thats another story.

PS Yes I sended my donation.

  9. My opinion, too much talking about a signature and far to many offended. This is paranoia. In any case that sig is somebody's opinion why all other bothered so much? They also go one step furhter and accuse Steiner of whatever they imagine. Is this freedom of speech?

Planet earth has more important problems to talk about: the huge disaster in Asia is a small example where millions of people suffer and dead maybe more "lucky" than poor survivors in some cases and everybody here talks about a sig!

If you replace the word "Jewish" with another no one would bother. Is it true or not?

It's amazing what can be done with a fresh slate, radically more powerful hardware, and years of experience :D

    Steve

Great graphics combined with true - realistic simulation the game will be GREAT.

All the best for the new year 2005.

It more about the life as a soldier. Very good

Very good book indeed a must read especially if someone wants to know how eastern front was from a soldier point of view
