  1. Im at a loss to explain how the Americans and the British advanced in the Norhern Europe, Italy, Africa campaings. Depending upon which report you read the Sabos did it, the Tanks did it, the Poor infantry did it, the AT guns did it,and back and forth??? Need a "Gramlins" for perplexed, confused. AAH I feel better poppy
  2. Hello CombinedArms I tried several tests similar to what you did. I selected "deep mud" to slow movement down with flat ground clear visibility and 500m between 5 Serman EasyEights and 5 Panthers all lined up opposing each other. No orders issued 1st test with 2ea tungsten rnds per Sherman. Used "Hot seat" result was, 4 to 5 Shermans knocked out for 1 or 2 Panthers. I increased tungsten rnds per Sherman to 6 and reduced AP per Sherman to 0. Same result. Says alot for the AI. No cheating. But I agree with you. Panthers were more effective head to head.Im gonna try some movement comparisons between the Panther and the EasyEight. poppy
  3. Hi Redwolf I was asking not opinionating. poppy
  4. "possible tungsten rounds" When did tungsten rounds become available for the 76 Sherman and were there enough available to the tankers to make a big difference? The AI first tries to bracket the "Panther" and then uses a tungsten round ,probably too late.?? poppy
  5. Hello Gpig I think that sometimes games are changed for the "worse" not the better. CMBO CMBB and CMAK are all "one of a kind" in my experience are the only games that I play on a continual basis. "Hidden and Dangerous" is an excellent game in my opinion but "Hidden and Dangerous 2" although it had better graphics and is also an excellent game did not improve on the original for playability and maybe lost a little bit. Hopfully CMX2 will avoid this. Thanks again Gpig hope I didnt get to negative. poppy
  6. Im gonna put my bunny in Heer hoppfully somebody will notice. A lotta new capabilitys will be abvaiable with CMX2. Hopefully the gameplay will not change. I have purchased all three CMB versions and have been playing and creating scenarios for them for several years without gettig boored with the game. The only suggestions that I have for "enhansment" of the game is smaller tiles for better terrain display and maybe a squad or two or a team purchased in very limited quantity that would be able to perform special missions. Ie. blow a bridge , snipe an 88at gun.
  7. Hello Gpig," Wouldn't it be great if you could have large AND small tiles." Why not? If BF can do it. poppy
  8. Thanks flamingknives for your reply. I agree it will take longer to creat a map. It would also make it possible to more accuratly recreate terrain. Picture a creek instead of a river a gully instead of a canynon. A roadside ditch which isnt possible now. Hopefully CMX2 will enable us map grogs to do these things. I look forward to CMX2 with the hope that this is one of the things that BF will include. And Please Keep The Game Play The Same. poppy
  9. Not a new thread exactly but may be a new slant. The "game as is" is an excellent game ,all three versions. Some of the things that could be made better vs changed. My first request would be smaller tiles. Then we could have single lane dirt roads with optional terrain ditating the path of the road, narrow streams and gullys, same game please no change to play mode. poppy
  10. I guess that Im used to CMBO infantry. CMAK is taking some gettin used to. poppy
  11. What I meant to suggest as an example is that when a squad dismounts from a h/t of tank under fire that they would scatter and be ineffective for a while. But when they got their s together they would not be labeled "!". I agree that more unit status conditions arent needed but that a "scatterd" or "disorganized" status could be used inplace of one of the existing unit status codes.?? poppy
  12. How about a "disorganized" status in between broken or routed for squads. Or instead of routed. Go hide if possible and reorganize. This would be a good quality for veteran squads?
  13. Im constructing an 120+ turn battle. If the battle starts at dawn will the line of sight distance increase as the battle progresses?
  14. Thank you Pyewacket. I converted an CMBO operation map to an CMAK battle map. Poppy
  15. Hello Rikki Im trying to progress to CMAK also but the graphics in CMBO are better in my opinion. Less eyestrain for one thing. Poppy
  16. Ive uploaded an huge battle "Gothic" and an huge operations map "Redout" to Senario Depot take a look at them. Feedback will be appreaciated. Poppy
  17. HEllo Bo Radley and junk2drive ,the old movies ,1940-48 or so are the best if your interested in the equipment that was used in that era. Think of "Patton" with 1942-43 equipment. poppy
  18. Thanks Michael,I never seem to quit learning, very troubling. poppy
  19. If you want to see what the Grant looked like then watch the movie "Sahara" with Humphery Bogart. Also some of the small arms of WW2 are there to be seen. The movie was made in 1943. Poppy
  20. Thanks Martin for the repley. Ive been playing CMBO for several years. I recently purchased CMAK and am just getting started. I think that in a huge operation using the largest map possible and in the static mode to be able to creat a salient say 1500meters deep by 500meters wide in battle one and then defend/attack this salient in the next battle using the setup move to position forces would be fun and it would provide more continuity between battles. Please keep the gameplay at the squad level in CMX2. Poppy
  21. Irregular front lines were the rule in the real world WW2. They depended upon the terrain and the forces involved in that area. The static operation is a good step forward but a lot of playing and menuvering goes to waste when the next battle leaves too many isolated pockets and a straight front line behide them. This is an excellent game and I look forward to cmx2. Pop excuss the spelling
  22. Thanks for the replys,YD and JoMc67 Il use the BAR teams but sparingly.
  23. Hello everybody, Im desiging an operation and would like to use BAR teams as much as possible and still be historically correct. Any info will be helpful. :confused
