  1. This might be a basic question, yet I'm using mods for the first time today. I downloaded and the Summer verdant camo mod for CM:CW and put it into the Z folder. It works and looks nice. However, If I want to play a scenario with the default Winter Verdant MERDEC screen, how to I disable the Summer verdant mod so it does not load? I don't want to delete it as I might want to use it again. Thank you in advance for your help.
  2. So there are plans to port the WWII titles to Steam also?
  3. I installed CMBB on my Win 8 machine and was having similar problems to what you guys are describing in this thread. It seems these older games have trouble working with a multi-core machine in Win 8. You have to set the affinity for the program to run off of one core processor. read the last three posts in this thread on how this can be done in CMBB; you might be able to do in BO and AK. It worked for me in BB. http://community.battlefront.com/topic/110053-cmbb-and-win8/
  4. I have a dual monitor system and a Radian 9200 card. Running Windows XP with all security packs. When I start CMBB my left monitor brings up a white box that says 3d Direct X test with a monitor resolution. It asks me to Accept the resolution or Skip to the next. I bring my cursor over to the boxes to click, but nothing happens. The game then just runs through a series of these boxes with different resolutions, then comes up with an error box saying 3D Direct X cannot be set. And that is all it does.
  5. I washed it the way it is supposed to be. I was unable to insatll from this disk a few months ago and am now trying again. It has the smae failures on three different computers and four different drives. There are some scratches on th edisk but none deep, but I've read on another board that CMBB disks are easy to damage. I think it is a disk gone bad.
  6. Yes, I've turned off all virus programs. I did install the game using the smae drive to this computer but it was a Win 98 machine then. It looks like the disk is bad. I tried it on a laptop that has Wind 2000 and I got a read error. I'm trying to copy the install file to that machine now.
  7. Can't get CMBB to install. I am trying to reinstall after putting XP on my machine (fresh install of XP) I've tried all the suggestions in the trouble shooting guide and here on the forum. I have the firewall and virus scan off. Four tries today, here's what happened: I washed and dried the disk. 1. Normal install from my RW CD drive (drive F). Got almost do and went installed up to WAV\00090507. Once here the drive just spins with the CD and HD lights on but nothing happens for a significant period of time. Go to task managetr and it says the program is no longer responding. 2. Tried to copy the insatll program to the hard drive but when it gets down to 10 seconds remaining, it justs starts spinning and the the time to completeting starts changing to 2 minutes, then 35 seconds etc. Finally an erro pops up and says: cannot copy CMBB installer, invalid DOS function. 3. Tried to install to my second HD usding the normal installer. I shut down as many processes as I could.wav and it spins for awhile then I get a red error: Read Error, Incorrect function stopped. 4. Unplugged all USB equipment except the mouse. This one got to WAV\00092606 and I get the same error as the above in 3. What's funny is the game is actually on the drive after all of these and I can start it but there are no scenarios present. I thought that this may be a damaged disk but it seems it is noot as it makes it to different files each time. Great game when I could play it. Any ideas?
