  1. Excuse my ignorance (surely a quality I should be proud of as an Australian), but could anyone tell me when was the last time an Australian AFV engaged an enemy AFV in combat? I'm not trying to suggest we don't need that capability - I'd just like to know.
  2. "At the moment, it feels so gamey to turn on F&C during each movie to make sure I'm not missing something (how can I not do that when my opponent surely is?!) GaJ" Aha! So that's how you nearly beat me! But I repudiate the suggestion that I might have been using F&C dust to my advantage - do you think I spent all this money on my fancy CM machine only to look at blocky 90s graphics? Of course I agree that seeing dust behind dust is not ideal, but I'm willing to put it down as another endearing CM quirk, like the CMBO dead guy appearing in the woods after a steel shower. As far as I'm concerned if you're willing (or forced) to descend into low-res purgatory, you can have whatever spotting advantage it gives with my compliments, you big-brown-sausage-examiner you!
  3. I second what Slappy says. Once you're getting serious return fire, it's too late to think about falling back unless you're on a treeline or ridge (not a bad thing for a harassment/route discouragement force - an ambush detachment would of course be behind the treeline/ridge to whack overenthusiastic pursuers) If you're in the desert you need to be outa there before he spots you, and even then expect to be pinned unless you can get some smoke. Smoke is, of course, the best way to fall back, so why not use all those silly Challengers for something before they get whacked
  4. I forget who this is a quote of, but my guiding strategic principle is: "the purpose of infantry is to approach the enemy infantry, and kill them". This may sould trivial, but it's amazing how often people waste time and ammo on other things. IMHO if you can do this bit, the rest takes care of itself (assuming you are not completely inept at dealing with his armour threats).
