  1. Very nice job. The Site looks great. Much thanks for all the hard work it takes to make the Scenario Depot such a great place for Author's to share their work. [ June 07, 2004, 12:12 AM: Message edited by: Tom Murphy ]
  2. I would like to see them in the game.... same with horses. Could make for some great ambush scenarios and meeting engagements. I just created three battles involving Motorcycle Battalion 61 who was acting as the spearhead for the 11th Panzer Division between June 25 and 27th 1941 at Karlswalde and Ostrog. Having the MCs would have been a nice touch.
  3. Something else that helps the computer is the use of target reference points. Place them in line of sight of the artillery spotters when designing the scenario. This will increase the odds of the Computer Al using its artillery sometime during the battle.
  4. Even playing with Fog of War on you can get an idea of enemy casualties. By Clicking on each of your units, and then on the "kills" button, you can get an idea of enemy casualties. For tanks, ACs, guns killed at distance, it will say "xx unidentified vehicles killed" or Light tank, light gun, etc.
  5. Panther Commander... Funny you mention Kursk. I was working on a Kursk scenario tonight where 8 T-34s(two Platoons) from Das Reich III sitting on the high ground above a valley attacked a Soviet tank column while it was moving south through the valley. According to the Das Reich Unit history, the T-34s were new ones they seized from a factory in Khar'kov.
  6. I have one scenario in play testing right now that I placed T-34s in the rubble of the Barrikady Gun Factory. Works real well. In another scenario called Kursk-Tigers on the Farm... I buried a AT gun in the rubble. Its a nice effect that I plan on using more often. Make sure you let the player now in the briefing that if they remove them from the rubble during set-up, they can't put them back in the rubble.

  8. Never tried it in CMBO...But in CMBB your engineers can blow bridges. Get then close and have them fire on the bridge (area). They will throw sachtel charges. Takes two or three for a light bridge. More for Medium and Heavy bridges. I have used blowing a bridge as an objective in the briefing in one of my scenarios.
  9. Thanks Bergerbitz... You answered my only question..."last battle of the Operation"... Thanks again, Tom
  10. Hi John, I don't know if I would call it magnificant. I think it falls off a bit at the end. I will be updating it soon based on the feedback from Bergerbitz.
  11. yacinator..... Good point. Smoke works. I did a scenario called "Kursk-Recon in Force" where I provided the Germans with a 81mm Mortar Battery with Smoke only for the purpose of covering the infantry breeching the wire. Unfortunately, when playing the other way around the Al will not use it. It sends the smoke mortar teams through the wire as cannon fodder to get chopped up by the Soviet defenders. You would also be surprised how well the "sneak" command works. Even in steppe grass or brush, you can often "sneak" your infantry over the terrain right up to the wire before they are spotted.
  12. Bergerbitz, Do you think I need to beef up the Soviets a little in the later battles? Tom
  13. Under terrain type they are In the trench. I Just don't remeber this graphics thing happening before. Like I said, during the Set-up they are half buried in the trench, but as soon as I start the scenario they "pop up" and look like they are on top of the trench. I would appreciate it if someone would look at their game and see if it does the same thing. Just move in close during set-up, then start the game and see if they Pop up or remain half buried in the trench. Thanks, Tom
  14. This may be a dumb question... But I have only been playing CMBB and making scenarios for a little over a month. During the set-up phase, units in the trench look fine. About half of their bodies are showing and they look like they are in a trench. But as soon as I start the battle, they literally "pop" up and apprear to be on top of trench as if the trench was not even there. They look like they are not dug-in on open ground. Is this normal (and I just did not notice it)... Or is someting strange going on with my game. I tried every scenario I have that uses trenches and the same thing happens. Has anbody experienced this? You can check it out by moving the camera close-up when you start the game. I don't have any MODS in the game. Any feedback would be appreciated.
