Hey, Ghost.  I was able to upload the scenario Coup D'etat just a few months ago to the Scenario Depot 3.  So it can work.  But I'm unsure where you are trying to upload to.  Up above you mention the Proving Grounds 2 and the Scenario Depot.  I was able to upload in the Scenario Depot 3.  Just want to make sure we're talking about the same place.

Also I had in some additional notes that the Scenario Depot 3 did not seem to accept files from Dropbox.  When I tried moving files from Dropbox into the Media part of SD3 I think I got the same error message as you show up above.  It worked when I dragged and dropped the zipped file from my desktop to the SD3.

Below are some of the notes I took when I uploaded the scenario to the Scenario Depot 3.  (So if you are actually trying for the Proving Grounds 2 it might work a little different)  There is more than one way to get it done.  Below is just the way I went about it through trial and error.  These first 7 steps, especially #5 and #6, might be relevant.

    1) Go to the Scenario Depot 3.

    2) Click on Upload Scenario.  (Located near the top of the page in the blue ribbon)

Note: The site displayed: WP-Filebase Pro requires a license key.  I ignored this.

Note:  Click on “Save Draft” (top right) to save your work occasionally.

The right column has two headings at the top: Document and Block.  Select Block.

    3) Add Title – Click on Add Title (top center) and enter the title of the scenario.

    4) Click directly below the block that contains the title.  Type (or paste) the narrative.

    5) Click Media and Add New (left column).

    6) Drag & drop the scenario file, Word document briefing file & any Mod files.

    7) Click Posts (above media) and return to the Posts page.

    Hope that helps.

Probably my last post for awhile.  I spent over 4 hours with word press.  The file finally loaded, restarted computer.  However in when I went to review it for the 20th time or more... NO btt. file is to be seen in the preview.  Even after it successfully loaded.  Did exactly what you said, I must still be missing a step.,  I hate WordPress and its functionality, it is slow and cumbersome, but that is all they have.

Just a thought, but what browser are you using?

Edge.  However I uploaded the zipped btt file and it uploaded 100%.  However I published the Scenario thinking the file was there, because honestly I have no Fng clue why it would not.  So now there is a published Scenario with no btt file.   Uploaded the freaking thing again, edited it again, file loads successful, I review it for the 20th time.  Don't see any file from where you download it to media.. and go from there as instructions given to me on another thread.

Thank you MOS:96B2P for your assistance.  I did everything verbatim.   However whenever I try and drop anything... an image, the btt. file or the btt file zipped I get this.   " Http error 503 is a server side error, which means that the problem is not with your computer or internet connection, but with the website's server. You may however follow the steps given below to try and resolve the issue. The 503 error may occur if the website is facing temporary issues."

I'll let @Bootiecomment on if that is how he wants it to work but the typical solution to such a problem is to zip up the file and upload the .zip file. In Windows it is as simple as right clicking on the file in Explorer and selecting Send to | Compressed File.

Ok so I tried Zipping it 3 different times and dropping it in there.  I use WinZip.  It has never failed me before so I am basically SOL when it comes to loading new files.  No idea what the issue is so the only way to load files is old school on the bloody forum.  Not ideal as it will never most likely get a lot of views or downloads.  I mean its why the Freaking Scenario Depot was created but for whatever reason its not happening.  So that's that.

Ah, great, I will try that when I get home.  See if that works, I saved the draft so should not be to hard.  Will post back with details if successful or not.

  6. So I figured out how to pretty much create a Scenario and put it on the Proving Grounds II.

One big problem is that when I upload or drag or drop the .btt file it gives me this....

Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

So not sure what to do, as you need the .btt file which is the entire Scenario created.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    James.

  7. A new scenario I designed for the Brits.  Hypothetical British Attack from elements of 50th Inf Division backed by elements of the 44th RTR from 4th Bde.  vs Both Italian and German units.  Hypothetical but hopefully challenging enough for everyone.  AI has 2 plans but one more than the other.  Played as Allied vs AI, or I think H2H would be fine as well.  Looking for some play testers to tell me if any changes need to be done.

For some reason I am still having difficulties loading onto the Scenario Depot... so if anyone savvy enough to do that for me that would be great.   Have fun and keep your head down.

I have attached the .btt file that you can just drop into your Scenario folder.

Just create a new scenario in the editor, go to briefing and click export.....Then tell it where to save the file.

You can then fill it in, re-save it under an appropriate new name and import it back into your scenario.

    HTH

LOL ahh why did I not think of that..   Reverse engineering...… Well done, thanks!

greatly appreciated as I am just finishing up a new Scenario for Italy.

    Cheers,

I'd hit @Bootie up again. By the looks of it there's been another update which probably explains your difficulties. I have had hit and miss experiences trying to upload to the Scenario Depot, sometimes I've figured it out myself but also sometimes Bootie has had to help me out. While the service they are providing the community there is a noble one and Bootie is always mega helpful, I do miss just being able to write a quick description, zip a file and upload it in a couple of clicks on the repository which then automatically created a new thread announcement on the relevant board on the forum saying that a new scenario/campaign/mod had been created.

I guess you've been here already but if not, here is the tutorial which applies to TPG as well as TSD:

    https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/about/

I think one of my successful uploads was as a result of watching this tutorial so it may get you across the line.

The video link for that is no longer available.  Not sure they know Youtube may have taken it down or it got flagged for some odd reason.

Amd pretty sure I saw a mod that put the symbol on an M1 when I was checking thru the files sent to Bootie.  So, it will turn up eventually.

Yeah it was probably me that requested it when Shock Force first came out.  I will try and look for it again.  the Grim Reaper would be another nice addition however.

That Abram's is a great subject for a model, 3d or real.....The weathering and the combination of wheels & stowage make it a very interesting to the eye and it would be a lot of fun to paint, I'm almost tempted!  B)

Well that would be bad ass... This Marine would thank you.   Semper Fi.   If you expand the view of the Abrams, you can make out what looks to be a palm tree, Dogs head and a Grim Reaper scythe.  There are some hard to find pictures of some Marine Abrams with a Eagle Globe and Anchor and Palm tree as depicted on the Humvee... for the life of me.. I can find them right now.

  12. Say I know this thread is old as hell, but couple questions.  I was just reading about some battles around Anzio.  I think there is something wrong with the TOE or maybe it is date specific.  I tried to do some work in the Scenario Editor and can not locate any Waffen SS units.  Even though a KG was involved in the Anzio area.  Later it operated as a Division from May 1944 till its surrendered in Austria.  Interesting note was that its Training Replacement Battalion was involved during the Arnhem battles.

Anyways its been awhile since I loaded up Gustav line and cant get Northern Italy... so maybe I asked this question earlier, will this be available in the next installment.

    Best regards,

    James.

Any updates on this? Or would anyone mind rehosting the mission file in the meantime? I would love to play it ever since I saw PanzerPajamas' video on it.

Edit: Nevermind, I didn't see that Ghostrider uploaded it here directly.

Thanks Gkenny.  It would be nice if someone can take that file and upload it to the Scenario Depot.. LOL for the life of me it still will not accept the file I give it.  Trying to figure out a plan B.  Cheers and I hope everyone has a great Easter Weekend.

    Semper Fi.

  14. Ok not sure if anyone can help put this bloody scenario back on TPG II.  I cant upload the BTT. file for some reason and I cant find any useful help in uploading files.  Everything has changed in uploading and it seems more difficult, I am no computer genius and that site is extremely cumbersome for me, which means probably no more scenario making for me.  The last site was much easier to traverse.  I tried even zipping it up but still no go, it is rejected every time.

Anyways a little advice or assistance would be great.

    thanks,

    James.
