    Hell yes! Please...

For CMRT, 2km x 2km. Something with a Barbarossa summer 1941 feel to it. big rolling fields with thatch roof houses...and a small town over on the eastern side of the map that would be an objective...

Been looking to do something like this very much.  Excellent.  Will take some time but when I finish will post it back here.  Thanks, Kohlenklau,

    James.

  2. If you would like a custom map made with high immersive detail let me know.  Approximate size and type.  (Rural, urban, forested, Arabian palace with pools etc)  This would be a map that you could then use for H2H.  QB map you would have to create the forces, as I would only be making the Map and its features.  For an example of one of my detailed maps you can check out my drop box here.      Ghost Rider CM Missions - Dropbox  ZipShare - Dropbox    Have a pleasant day.

I would say that pretty much the entire Normandy theatre is open for a redo....Many things have been improved or added since the first Normandy game got released.

    To name a few IIRC...

    - Flamethrowers

    - updates to handheld AT weapons

    - Doubeling the number of AI groups and AI order slots

    - Triggers

    - The later modules and the vehicle pack added a pretty impressive amount of new equipment (and formations i belive).

These changes/improvements will allow for a very different set of scenarios compared to the original release even if they cover more or less the same topics..

I hope to see much more from Normandy...😎

Indeed, it would be cool to see a revision for Normandy and its subordinates in a one pack version if possible.  Riding on tanks through the hedgerows... :)

We are about 60% through playing the Against the Odds scenario and I am playing the Russians.  I have lost about a dozen tanks to two German tanks, both Mark IVs.  One King Tiger was hit about a dozen times, 8 of them from the rear.  Of the dozen 3 were from a SU-122 firing 122 mm AP.  One of the hits rocked the Tiger and it indicated gun mount hit.  Unfortunately it didn't disable the main gun so it then knocked out the SU-122.  Earlier it knocked out another SU-122.  Talk about being indestructible!!!!

There are three Russian planes which are "preparing" so unless they can knock out the Tiger and my friend tells me there are more, then this scenario is over.

I'm really surprised the 122 mm hits from the SU didn't take the Tiger out.

Well if you want a crazy scenario to play.  Playing as the Germans you can try my scenario.  'Clash of Titans Reborn"  https://www.dropbox.com/s/mm6gnh7p5t1385b/CoT-Reborn-v2_2 (2).zip?dl=0  Feel free to visit any of my other scenarios.  I have probably the most realisitic Barkmann's corner as well.  Researched it for 4 months.   my dropbox  ZipShare - Dropbox

Clash of Titans Reborn will is fictional with some named personnel from the 505sPz.Abt. etc.  The map was created for German vs AI only or H2H play.  Pits the player with a decent scenario story, and in charge of about 7 Total King Tigers and later Panthers vs a mix of Russian ISU-152, ISU-122S, IS-1, IS-2, T-34-85's and utter craziness battle!  Can you survive and counterattack?  LOL  :)

    Regards,

    James.

Good to know, but I don't own the game. Unless I read about the real fight in Otto Carius's excellent Tigers In The Mud, I knew nothing of this remarkable engagement before seeing the video. Ref the scenario, is it possible to start with the IS-2 crews not inb their tanks? Since a crew can disembark from a tank that's hit and later remount, in theory it should be feasible, but that doesn't make it so.

    Regards,

    John Kettler

That's a great book, "Tigers in the Mud".  But one does wonder about memoirs after so many years.  That being said I believe more docs are coming available from WWII on the Russian side from Berlin.  I somewhat do not trust Russian figures though, but getting both perspectives you can gage what probably transpired factually of sorts.

  6. So the mixed camo would included for Wehrmacht the Splittertarnmuster, (edged wood-brown and medium green polygons printed on a light field-grey or tan background created in 1931) and the Italian M29 Camo pattern. 'Telo Mimetico"  I believe for the most part that the Splittertarnmuster wash issued to most Panzer, PanzerGrenadier Troops, especially the 'Elite" Divisions Großdeutschland.

The patterns for HG and the Fallschirmjäger were identical.  They used the Splittermuster 31 which was more greenish then the tan of the Heer version.  Same pattern pretty much.  Basically there should be a visual difference between the Heer Splinter, and that of the Luftwaffe.  But not sure I see any.

Fun fact, when the 1st SS Divison was returning from the Eastern Front to rest and refit back in France after Kursk, they made a stop first in Italy for a brief time where they picked up thousands of M29 Uniforms and material in which custom jackets, Panzercombi's etc would be created, even zeltban's.  These were handed over to the 12th SS as they were training in France.

  7. Yes, on this scale it is very challenging, but I try to make it as accurate as I can.  people complain the AI is soo easy.  LOL Anyhow I am very glad you are enjoying the scenario.  If it was too easy it really would not be that fun.  But challenging always improves one's game, on how to overcome obstacles or in this case tanks, guns and all kinds of goodies.

    Best regards,

    James.

  8. Hello this is the other half of my project.  This scenario depicts the German counterattack against the British and Canadian forces of my previous scenario, 'A Once Quiet Town" scenario.

Let me know what you all think, thanks for playing and taking the time to enjoy a scenario that took me a couple months.

Just downloaded the normal version. Map looks great! Thanks for sharing this.

Your very welcome, thanks for checking it out.  Your feedback is important, so let me know what you think.  I am almost done with the German counterattack using the same map.  The map itself took about 1.5 months (not every day but over 80hours) but some of us scenario creators like making immersive maps.  You will find a ranch, many vinyard farms, small town, olive farms.  A memorial on a slight rise outside of town, and many of the Estates have very park like social settings I think you would find in an Italian Estate.  (looked as much as I could for older pics).  Thanks again for downloading it.  Enjoy!

  10. Here is the normal version, https://www.dropbox.com/s/gbheemjzlafev7l/A Once Quiet Town V2.zip?dl=0

Here is the Easier version with another route across the river you will have to find.  https://www.dropbox.com/s/sq08pc5b9r5hfwl/A Once Quiet Town Easier V2.zip?dl=0

Enjoy and again, many thanks to Jim das Selvas for taking the time to put this on YouTube.  I know editing can take a while and Jim has a great style to his videos.  Had to put Jim in my scenario notes he deserves it very much.

  11. Just wanted to give a big thanks to Jim Das Selvas for taking the time and energy to put this very large if not huge scenario through its trials.  There are two versions.  The one Jim is currently playing and one that is slightly easier, only because it offers another avenue across the river.  You can watch Jim plot and plan the Germans demise here.

I'm really enjoying the original version, I'm thirty turns in and so far only four rounds have been fired.....All spotting rounds from what I believe is an 82mm Mortar targetting OP-1.

My lads are having it away on their toes, hopefully they'll get clear before the stonk arrives!  We've got a pretty good view of the German positions and are beginning to set up our own (there were a few C2 issues to begin with as various units waited for their parent formations to arrive).

Thus far I'm having a lot of fun.  B)

I'll send you a PM with a link to my current save.

Sgt. Squarehead how goes it.  LOL  Happy New Years.   I have to tell you, I got pasted every time I played, and I even knew where everything was... because I made it.  That being said it was to be a real challenge.  I did make V2 to coincide with a better German timing response and in the latest 'EasierV2 " I just uploaded a more flexible map for the Allied player, all the same still having a challenging enemy, I think.  Anyways your thoughts are welcomed.

  13. I know the Holidays has kept everyone busy, but I felt that if this scenario had given anyone too many problems... I added an easier version.  https://www.dropbox.com/s/mej61fu2f4un2sl/A Once Quite Town Easier V2.zip?dl=0   This version I added another crossing point in which the player will have to find.  I also added another Troop level 25lb arty element, as I felt that any crossing of Battalion size would have at least a full complement of Arty to assist.  Nothing else has changed from Version 2.  This version is a bit more flexible but still with challenges all the same.

Happy New Year everyone, and stay safe!

    James.

  14. On the latest version the Timing of the Axis force was too early:  I believe for my part of playtesting this has achieved what I was looking to get.  I await what the play testers come up with and their thoughts before linking this to an official Scenario.  I will be making another Scenario from the German side and should be done in the next month or so.  ** This will be a more dedicated counter-attack from the German player vs AI in defense as the AI I tested had massive issues trying to SMARTLY cross the bridge... it ended in a "Cluster Muck"  Both scenarios will still be balanced for H2H.

  15. Hello everyone that is playtesting.  I went over it for the 5th time.   I have since done some revisions.   Fixed some map Aesthetics' and flavor objects.  Added 8 Troop in which I  had forgot in the very beginning with a couple small items.  Fixed some AI timing on the Axis side to make it more Neutral for H2H play of sorts and added more to Allied description and added the names of those play testing the scenario.   https://www.dropbox.com/s/d8rpdpnpn7k2p46/A Once Quiet Town V2.zip?dl=0

    LATEST VERSION HERE...

  16. Ok glad things are going well.  I was also thinking about delaying the German Counter-Attack of sorts.  I think it was a little soon in my opinion, but will wait until I hear back from everyone who is playtesting to get their input.  Glad you are having a blast, spent a month just doing that map, as I wanted an immersive feel for anyone who might even want to video it for the innerwebs.  :)

  17. This is a link for version 2.  All I added was a Reserve Company for the Allies, and made ready the 25lb Arty on the Allies R1 turn. D Company arrives with the SP Arty from Regt.  at about 40-45min. https://www.dropbox.com/s/k6uvv3pgh9hqupz/A Quiet Town V2.zip?dl=0  (Updated) 7pm PST.

I am not the best player on the planet, but when you get your arse handed to you by your own design.. its a little funny... and I know where everything is.  Careless I guess.  Anyways I think this will also balance out for any H2H play as this scenario is basically an Assault.

  18. Well either I really suck, or I kicked my own ass.  LOL  I made a couple of adjustments as this is more of an Assault than a wandering Advance.  Even though you have some intel on some enemy positions, you cant really do anything and you would think Arty would be available for the Allies on an Advance or Assault on the quick.  So I made a couple of adjustments and added D Company Reserves to the Allies.  I'm guessing the more methodical you go the better but its still a challenge... depending on player skill level.
