I believe the company is probably as old as the regiment, but in which war were platoons and squads first used as tactical maneuver elements?
Thanks in advance.

Already done, but one PC between two people doesn´t go! Maybe I should get her a playstation 2 or something. You can get the sims for that now I think... </font>Originally posted by Tifosi:</font><blockquote>quote:</font><hr />Originally posted by Sequoia:

J2D has a point. Get your wife The Sims. Mine also liked Baldur's Gate. She had a kick-but female Paladin.

These Mods are beautiful. I can't wait to blow the houses you're making up with them.

That's okay, I shouldn't be trying to hijack the thread.

Is the 150mm at CMMOD's. I sure don't see it. Am I losing it?
-
How's the 150 mm coming?

Juju, you're right, I was thinking Mod, not patch.
-
If I understand correctly, if some one tried a patch, it would make the Germans black as well.Originally posted by Peter Cairns:I suppose if they were segregated in the US, then the only way to do it would be as a sepereate unit or for someone to model it as a patch.

EDIT. No I'm not trying to be funny.

Seems as if it would be relatively easy to Mod the Vichy French from the Italians using existing bitmaps. How good a fit would Italian infantry be?
-
Are you sure nothing is changing? Perhaps the mod is for a slightly different vehicle then what you're looking at, for example a Sherman II vs a Sherman III, neither of which would effect a U.S. Sherman. Another possibility is did you use a CMMOS Mod? Those won't show if you drop them unmodified into the BMP folder. Which mods did you try?

I'm curious, California has, I'm told, a Mediterranean climate, and out here the grass (mostly wild oats) is green in the winter and brown in the summer. Likewise, I recall the opening scenes from Patton where the locals are stripping the dead G.I.s in the aftermath of Kasserine Pass, which I believe was filmed in Morocco, but is nonetheless quite green. I beleive the ground Mod bmps are different between summer and winter, am I right? Are there any Mods that will give me green grass in winter?

I envision it as being no more difficult than plotting your moves at the beginning of the game. Click on the unit and plot it's movement/orders etc. Think of it this way. You can already get movement orders in a file by email. I'm thinking, at the minimum, it would be like starting a game playing against a file much like an emailed first turn. Latter turns would be against the a.i. An enhanced version would have the a.i influenced by the "plan".Originally posted by Pzman:Would it be built into the editor or a text file that we would need to know some computer langauge for? I've been kicking around the idea of allowing scenario designers to create AI files for single player games. At the minimum, these files would allow the scenario designer to plot movement etc for units begining with the first turn through whatever turn the ploted movement is completed. Better would be additional conditional movement orders (move until contact is a conditional movement order that already exists). Best would be allowing an agressiveness settings and allowing the AI to follow a basic plan. Users would be allowed to submit new "plans" for a side which could be set to always follow Plan A or Plan B or to randomly select a plan if more than one exists for a given scenario

I'm pretty sure all the Mods and extra scenarios on the second disk of the special edition can be downloaded from CMHQ and the Scenario Depot.

Welcome Wolfie. They have to send it to you.

Just wondering, are those Italian Airborne trousers the German Officer is wearing?
Great Mod by the way!

I went and bought a friend a copy of CMBO. Do I get some credit?

I wonder if they'll give us the Pz IIIF back so it can be used in the Sealion Mod?

Thanks, Andrew. You know, I'm trying to look at your late war US Airborne, but I can't find what month(s) those units are available.
-
Is there a chart that identifies when a unit switches from its Mid-War bmps to late-war? I'm specifically curious about infantry uniforms.
Thanks in advance.

J2,
No I don't think it's too much. Certainly not as far fetched as a Turtledove mod someone was suggesting. On the other hand, I think your Korea stuff is more interesting.

I recall that SPI's 1970's game Seelowe had a July scenario that was at once both the "least likely and most likely" to occur. Least likely because it would have presupposed that the Germans would have had to have made plans to invade Britain right after France fell, yet in reality they had anticipated a much longer campaign in France. But most likely in that such a move "could have caught the Royal Navy with it's pants down".
-
Greetings,
May I ask why the invasion is taking place in July? Seelowe was scheduled for September, not that there really was much chance of it ever taking place as long as there was a Royal Navy.
