  1. That JasonC, he's a regular typing fool! DavidI
  2. BigMatt, They would have to be renumbered and, in many cases reworked. For example in CMBO the top deck of a given tank is one bmp, in CMBB/CMAK it's two. In CMBO the front view of a SPW 251 is one bmp, in CMBB/CMAK the MG shield is a seperate bmp, etc. Sorry. DavidI
  3. Tartari, Oh I can dig that! Keep going! Lot's of late '42 early '43 scenarios set in Tunisia and it would be great if the scenery didn't look like Libia. David
  4. Shmavis, George McEwan and I are playing that scenario right now. I'm the Russians and I'm whittling down his Tigers (it's fought in the fog at 200 meter range). There are burnt out tanks all over the place. I've attached a picture of knocked out Tigers and T-34's that gives you an idea of the ferocity of the battle. We are talking about replaying the scenario with no fog and Russian air support. DavidI
  5. Aco4Bn187 hits it right on the head. Vietnam era and post Vietnam era American Films about other countries' armies reflect alot of American attitude of the time, not about the time they are portraying. One of my favorite WWII movies from the German perspective is "Night of the Generals", great story, huge (let me repeat that HUGE) cast. I love the German corpral that explains to his girlfriend that he got the Iron Cross 2nd Class not because of anything he did, but because he was the only survivor of his company when it got over-run by the Russians. (See paragraph above). Great war/detective movie. Peter O'Toole's role is awesome. DavidI
  6. I thought it was strange in "Lost Battalion" that when the artillery started to come down how many guys got up and started doing a strange game of "musical foxholes". Running around during a barrage is not a good idea. I don't think you would see so much as a helmet above ground level when the big shells come down. Check out "Days of Glory" new French flick about the Morrocan and Algerian Divisions raised during WWII. They fought in Italy, Southern France and Germany (movie appears to have been filmed in North Africa and in those countries so has a great "feel"). Lot's of Colonial troop angst about fighting for, and in, the Mother Country. "Vive la France" sounds interesting in Arabic. DavidI
  7. More of my France '44 series. Look like: and; Enjoy, DavidI
  8. highliner, Dirt and grime are not my forte, I've never added it to my mods. I am also a bit unfamilliar with Brit camo patterns, although I like the later war "Mickey Mouse" pattern. May give that a try some time. Sorry, DavidI
  9. Fr '44 Stug IV Pack looks like: and the Flak Pack looks like: I think these are a vast improvement over my earlier "Normandy" series. Enjoy, DavidI
  10. I like this one for late war scenarios. Would work well for CMETO as well - fully compatable with CMAK. Enjoy, DavidI
  11. Look! There was a posting as recently as June! This site is smokin! Closes his eyes, goes back to sleep. DavidI
  12. Sam Peckinpa's (spellings wrong I think) east front flick. I liked it, own it. General Brock and Jason are both right on this one. Excellent but seriously flawed. One of the few western movies about the East Front (although "A Time to Live and a Time to Die" a really good Italian movie, title forgotten, "Winter War" and "Stalingrad" come to mind). Sam got the look and did a decent job on the novel. I would, however, recommend that you do not wear enemy head gear, and you should change that drum mag on the PPSH to sticks as soon as possible (I hate being shot at by my own guys). T-34/85's looked bitchin. Cpl Stiener with Sgt's tresse could have used an explination, needs a haircut too - bloody Colonel's pet. One of these day's someone will do a bitchin movie from the Russian's perspective without the Soviet blatant propaganda. A recent, but difficult to watch movie "Come and See" was an interesting approach. My two bits. DavidI
  13. Well I really love S Dog's terrain for Russia 1941 to 1944 (I have a CMBB late war game and use different terrain for that). UncleTgts roads, Juju's factory, Patboys shacks, Undaunted's bitchin skies, Gurra's rail fences, church and Rodinia small buildings. Looks like this: For winter I like Dey's stuff, with my winter roads (Although UncleTgt provides a very good look as well - very different from Dey's). Anyway that's my take. DavidI
  14. More stuff for France '44. Stuh42's, truck, Kubelwagon & Sdkfz 7. Look like: and, More to come, Enjoy, DavidI
  15. Most are the same. So yeah. There's no factory in CMAK and no Fall season (so if you replace summer trees with fall trees you will always have fall trees). Double check before you swap, and always back up your originals. DavidI
  16. Yet more France 1944 stuff; This time a Stug III G Pack and a PSW Pack, they look like this: Lot's more to come... Enjoy, DavidI
  17. More of my France 1944 series. Look like: and, Lots more to come. Enjoy, DavidI
  18. Zwolo, Kinda tied up with the Fr44 series right now, but after that... DavidI
  19. Continuing my France '44 series - Panthers! Look like: and, and, Enjoy, DavidI
  20. Well it begins. Now that I have a head start, I will begin to release my new "Fr44" series of mods. Meant to be a replacement for my old "Normandy" series, they look perfect for CM Normandy. I have purposely used a common camo pattern, done in variations, to make the vehicles appear as if they are all part of one Divison. The first two are: and: I hope you enjoy. Many, many more to follow. DavidI
  21. It makes a big differance in the appearance of CM Normandy: You can really see the ones that haven't gotten the treatment. DavidI
  22. Thought I'd show you a WIP of my redo of my Normandy series: As with my Normandy series I want to have a fairly consistant camo pattern, as if all the vehicles are from the same Division. I maintained the dot/splotch pattern as it screams France 44 and is a million times easier to do than the thin/squigly pattern (an important consideration when you're planning on doing over 30 vehicles). Gone is the bright golden rod color of the pz yellow, gone is the wash out of detail, camo patterns now match up, etc., etc. I'm going to call this my "Fr44" series. I'll start putting them out soon. Anyway, that's what I've been up to this summer. DavidI
