The right way is to have "stickers" that can be placed on the model. That way you can store small, medium, and large penetration hole graphics in a fairly tiny texture, yet use it for everything and anything. Kinda like shell craters in CMx1, but for vehicles.

Buildings... they need to be physically deformed for it to look right. We are planning on doing that.

We also want to physically deform vehicles, but that requires building additional models for all vehicles. Many additional ones if we want to have many different types of damage. We're working on how to do this, but expectations for the first game should be kept low.

Steve, Thank you for answer my question. Maybe someday in little future when our computer get more advanced like that then maybe we can do. Go ahead and lock my message. Have Good Day.

Similar to Oleg's IL2 Sturmovik as have two damage step as first is minor damage then more damage before destroyed. Maybe much more cool is show BMP why it is destroyed by see big hole by cannon fire and damage effect by anti-tank crew. I know it will be huge art work unless your market manager tell you it is good idea to attraction customers. It is candy stuff unless player demand to know what weapon destroyed his tank and what direction come from enemy so he will know what to do. I am sure in real life people will look at damage where it hit then search certain source for area where possible enemy fire.

  3. Depend how close their leaders and their skill is. It make different in reaction and action when give command. If I plan to attack KV in ahead time, I will select leader with better command and squad with better anti-tank weapons near each other to move up and attack KV as I always prepare for that during 1941 timeline. I wish that we have new program that will tell them to stop follow and go cover if enemy armor retreat into open field.

  4. Did you noticed building switch BMP when it got damage from attacking. How about create some BMPs with detail damage effect for tanks in certain area where it got hit. I know what currently damaged tank look like in CM but more detail that will give us know how bad damage it is or just a dent as a round bounced it off. Is it cool?

  5. May be too late as everyone already watch movie and will aviod village narrow road if play online.

I often aviod road in village if send only tank because of anti-tank guns and anti-tank teams. To assult the village, have tank follow troop as they sweep village. I will still aviod farm dirt roads in open space due to mines and hidden anti-guns too.

It is Hollywood thing, directors want that way to make thing so funny and generate money even collect awards.

If you're not interested enough to do some research beforehand, it follows you won't necessarily be interested in that same topic being the subject of a game....

Give a read to a history of the war or two, perhaps a personal account - Robert Lawrence, MC wrote TUMBLEDOWN, that's a good one - then report back with your new interpretations.

Did you know who first use tactics and when? It is at battle of Verdun by Germany in on February 21 1916. They use plenty of tactics. I did reading some books about battle of Verdun that still give me shudder to think about it. It is big battle but can be divide up into some operations/battles plus some quick games. Ummmm...maybe new game will be "Battle of Verdun"

I bet there are plenty of actions in other part of world than just stay in trenches at France.

  7. It should have plenty action like capture or blown bridge up. create map that don't have friendly side just enter and exit as only victory is meet their objective even don't have to count kills as victory. Maybe create program that can use knife to kill sentry without draw attention and even kidnap high offical. It should be fun if try sneak around without get attention from enemy or catch them with their pants down.

One top interesting about them apart from SS elite commando force is you don't have to be Aryan when recuit into Brandenburgers. recuiters will prefer anyone who can speak enemy's language and their looks like Slav and or other ethnic groups with custom behivor. Image commando with Nordic feature looks will stuck out in emeny like sore thumb. I bet some of people want be in elite force but turn away because of their wrong look but happy accept into Brandenburgers and earn respect from SS waffen that they can arcoss bridge safey capture by Brandenburgers.

  8. I had an idea while editing a scenario...how about have ability create our own battalion with certain rule what county can provide even possible selectable certain weapons as with rule and date to each squad for example replace pistol with SMG in platoon headquarter squad. It will be much easy than have to add/delete/edit a bunch of battalions into one. tongue.gif

  9. Yes, I am talking about multi-turrets.

Wrong forum...No way. Let's see if you remember quota "That's wierd. I can't find the M3 Grant, the T-28 or the T-35. There were lots of these tanks, and the game is a stickler for accuracy, so why on earth aren't they included?

All these three tanks are 'multi-turreted'. The T-28, for example, had five turrets. The existing game engine can't handle multi-turret firing from tanks, so much to the disappointment of everyone, including the game designers, they were left out. There's a tank that looks as though it's multi-turreted in the game but both turrets fire as one." http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=print_topic;f=23;t=004792

SO I just wonder if new CMx2 will accept T-28. Even possible that main gun can fire at prime target as tank's machine gun fire different direction to keep anti-tank crew's head down.

Melnibone, Is it still a wrong forum?

  10. That's great but hard to do in huge map as play operation as lookout for tracer bullets in distant will be hard to spot as will have to play over and over as look for line of tracer bullets. Okay I will check over MOD Database look for MOD of gunfire and other stuff as what your message said. Thank you again. I hope it is not "star war" laserfire effect MOD. I am sure it will not allow on online playing LOL

  11. Yes, I can see some of caption come out "pin" or "panic" or "knockout" however I read something that it have lot more sound that don't come in caption. Since I am deaf so I will be happy if someone can change sound into words and upload for us to download as anyone who did help will get credit for his noble action. Thank you for reply this one.

  12. Hello MODers

I wonder how good are you in MOD on CMBB that can add Subtitles or caption to screen to readout same time when sound playing? It will be big help to deaf players and other people who want sound mute to aviod wake wives up while playing CMBB into late night. Please let me know if possbile. Thank you.

    Cheers

Overall about the same as the FG42. Didn't make it into general usage either.

Marines used it and the semi-auto rifle version as well, but preferred the Garand, and replaced them ASAP. I heard stories (true?) that Marines stole M1s from Army troops in the Pacific to get rid of their Jonhsons before M1s were issued to the Marines in enough numbers.

Also, early versions of the BAR were selective fire.

FG 42 wasn't really anything new. Sorry.

Oh, and the LMG version also came with a pistol grip.

Intersting article from Johnson LMG website "There is some evidence that Melvin Johnson may have taken note of the human engineering aspects of the German Solothurn MG34 and configured his LMG accordingly. In his 1941 book Automatic Arms, he includes a number of references to the MG 34 with emphasis on its short recoil operation, air cooling, straight line positioning of all recoiling parts and buttstock, plus the sights being set high to minimize the adverse affects of recoil-induced vibration. It is probably no accident that the Johnson M1941 came out looking like it does."
  15. FYI on Johnson LMG, check link to Johnson LMG:

    http://www.johnsonautomatics.com/combatuse.htm

"As Lt. Colonel Robert Burhans states in his book "The First Special Service Force" which is the official unit history of the 1st SSF, 'The Johnson weighed little more than the M1 rifle, and carried more fire power than the Browning, an ideal addition to a light, fast-moving combat unit. It was a profitable trade for the force; the Johnson, pound for pound, was the most valuable weapon it possessed.' "

    http://www.findarticles.com/cf_dls/m0BQY/12_46/66491975/p1/article.jhtml

" The gun was the Johnson M1941 Light Machine Gun, used successfully during World War II by U.S. Marine Raiders against the Japanese and by American Army commando troops against the Germans. In many ways it compares favorably to modern infantry weaponry, but it was never officially adopted by the U.S. military. Was it only "marginally effective", as official accounts of the time reported? Or, was it a revolution in the basic concepts of rifles and machine guns?"
