  1. I haven't been playing anything but CMBB on PC or console lately. But when I do, it's mostly Prince of Persia or NHL with my brother (on his occasional visits). And I love the old adventure games, too. On the other hand, a few days ago I played a game of chess against my uncle, who is pretty good player. But guess what - I won. Thanks to Combat Mission I was seeing the situations much clearer than before (which would be about 1,5 years ago, when I used to lose against any mediocre chess-player). Although, we were very drunk, too. (Hey, what can I say, we're Finnish.)
  2. No, I haven't, but I guess installing one would fix the problem anyway. Kiitoksia.
  3. I know this might sound like a bad science fiction movie, but... In CMBB, I have a thin black block above the Global info panel, over the Navigation buttons. The Block collects stuff in itself when moving over the map, things like words or letters from the movement commands and the yellow squares from selected units. The Stuff in The Block twitches and flashes in rhythm with the fire and smoke animation (and i guess it somehow represents the Frames per minute, also). Any suggestions how I could get rid of The Block? I have tried with different resolution etc. The graphics card is Radeon 7500 with fairly new drivers.
  4. It's a "clonk". Like when you gently hit a tank's armour with a steel shovel (if I remember correctly). That's one thing I have used, but usually we tend to discuss about our daily matters while playing (it's manageable, although commanding requires heavy thinking). I think this would be best done with phones you could still hear the outside world (I have only those large cup phones). So I should get smaller ones, the button earphones... That's it. Thanks a lot, Other Means. (Actually, now that I think of it, I don't have to hear the background wind-humming and bird-chirping, anyway. I'll just turn the speakers off and use the headphones when watching the action. So thanks to you, Securityguard, too.) Sometimes the solution is behind one thought.
  5. (Note: Not only CMBB's problem) Is there any way to turn the "Reinforcements have arrived" sound off in a two-player hotseat game? Off course you could delete the WAV-file or replace it with a blank one (or simply turn off the speakers every time you expect your reinforcements to come) but that wouldn't be too handy. The problem is, that the other player is usually in the same room as the other starts his/her turn, so the opposive player can hear the arrival of the reinforcements (and re-evaluate the strategy now based in this knowlegde). Sorry to bother, just curious if this is meant to be or left by mistake.
