  1. Hey Das, Glad to hear you are local. I Use to live in Loudoun County, Va for many years before moving to Winchester. My Dad started a hobby shop in Sterling, Va called 'Wargamers Hobby Shop' from the early 80s then sold it in 92 I believe. We use to have gamers come down on the weekends to play Historical Miniature Table-Top games as well as Fantany/Sci-Fi. My interest ofcourse was mainly WWII and American Civil War ( with some sci-fi like Starfleet Battles/Star Trek ). I still have a fair collection of both acquired over the years that I hope to one day game with again before I get too old, lol. Do you know Dave Luff by chance, he is part of NOVAG ( Northern Va Gamers ), and WTTG ( Winchester Table-Top Gamers ). I have known him for many years back in the Hobby Shop days, and still keep in contact with him today even thou I havent seen him in a few years. Told him in about a year or so when I get things back in order, I will try to get back into the miniature gaming field. Still have several minis I like to get painted, and probably will find a painting service to do it for me, lol. Yes, I like to come down to see your gaming club, as well as some others mentioned above when the time is right. Lets keep in touch via email ( click on my handle to view it ) from time to time to talk about the gaming industry. In the process of posting pics by next week and hope to try and post them here. Thanx Joe
  2. Costard, Give me a week or so, and will give you an idea of some titles with pics. They are mainly generic WWII books, that could have been purchased at a book store. However, others might be of interest.
  3. Field, Ok, its been a long time since I looked at Fow. You may be right about the field pieces reps 1:1, but they dont do that with vehicles. Wow, and the Inf are in fire-teams rather then squads, no wonder I thought FoW was odd. If they just kept the traditional idea of 1:1 Veh/Field piece, and 1 Inf base reps a squad I might have liked it better.
  4. Basically, one vehicle reps 2 or 3 actual vehicles ( which means you need 2 or 3 vehicles to rep a Platoon ) - one field piece reps 2 actual guns, However, I believe each stand of Inf still reps a Squad which is good.
  5. I have also played WWII Miniature Table-Top Wargames for many years. Picked up FoW a few years ago, but found it odd as each vehicle didnt rep either 1:1 or a Platoon, but some inbetween scale like 2 or 3 vehicles equals a Platoon. The Rules are bascially designed as a game only for the newer generation of Miniature Wargamers. I still prefer miniature rules that came out in the 70s and into the 90s. Basically there are 2 scales I like to play, WWII Micro-Armor, and 15 mm. I like Micro-Armor for large engagements where each vehicle reps a Platoon, and 15 mm for that 1:1 Skirmish level to play platoon to Company engagements.
  6. Hey Pak, They are basically miniatures that are around 1" in length for vehicles ( you could amagine the size of the Infantry, which are about 5mm in height ), and are used for Table-Top Wargaming. Think of it as CMx1, but instead of a computer game its miniatures that you game on a table with terrain, and rules. Depending of the rules set, each vehicle reps 1, and each stand of a few Inf rep a squad, almost if not the same setup as CMx1. Other rules on the market have it where 1 veh or a few men on a stand rep a Platoon. It all depends if you want to play tactical ( Company or Battalion ) or Grand tactical ( moving battalions around to a Div ), WWII or Modern. There are even 15mm to 54mm figs in height for all nations and times of conflict also using various rules, just google search all the above to find out more info. However, I dont have any of these for sale. I personally have a collection of Micro-Armor 1/285 scale and some 15mm Germ and U.S forces that are painted, but not for sale. This also reminds me that I have to one day re-build some terrain tables to start playing again, just miss the good ole days of going to conventions, and gaming. So basically I play CMx1 ( and hopefully CMx2 oneday ) series for my computer gaming needs, and play on the pool table using battlefield terrain to get my 3-D gaming fix. Its like they both compliment each other in their own right.
  7. Moon, Thanx for the Info, no spam or Commercial links will be posted. Ok, basically I have a huge selection of WWII and Modern Micro-Armor 1/285 - 1/300 scale gaming miniatures. I also have a few Military 1/72 scale models, and some old or Out of Print books. I am in the process of taking pics that will be posted up next week to give everyone an idea of what I am selling. If anyone is interested in the above and want further info, just PM or post reply back. Thanx again, Joe
  8. Hello, Is there a Sale/Wanted section at the 'Battlefront Forum,' and if so where. Asking, because I have a lot of Military Miniatures/models for sale including some books. Thanx Joe
  9. Sorry, but you really actually mean to play, PBEM - TCP, 600 point QBs...Now, I am here for that. Joe
  10. Yeap, thats what we pretty much play...BB/AK, 600 point QB, Meeting, 20 turn Variable. Joe
  11. Hey Marx, How about a small CMAK-PBEM game, 600 point QB, Meeting Engagement, you choose Axis or Allies. I can help you out on the PBEM process. If interested just click on my name ( handle ) to either PM or Email me, or you can just post reply below. I also went ahead and emailed you. Thanx Joe
  12. Major Tum, I can bring alittle life back to CMBO. Havent played in years since AK came out, but still fancy the idea of dusting it off. How about just a small 600 point QB, Combined Arms, Meeting, Village, Moderate Terrain, Random Weather, I can play either AXIS or U.S. Let me know if interested. Thanx Joe

Hello CM Community, Looking for one opponent to play 600 point QBs, and I play AXIS. The first game will be a Meeting while future games can be anything. I would also like to use some House Rules to make CM alittle more interesting. PM or email me at: i r i s h w o p 6 7 at a o l dot c o m Thanx Joe
  17. Hello, I usually like CMAK PBEM games that are 600 points. The first game will be a Meeting, but future games can be anything else. I also like to use some House Rules to make CM alittle more interesting. If interested, just post reply back. Thanx Joe

Hello CM Community, Looking for one opponent to play 600 point QBs, and I can play either side ( If allied, usually U.S.). The first game will be a Meeting while future games can be anything. I would also like to use some House Rules to make CM alittle more interesting. PM or email me at: i r i s h w o p 6 7 at a o l dot c o m Thanx Joe
  19. Thanx Steve, Kinda figured they were two seperate game systems that would compliment each other. Now...it would be great if BF develops a Platoon level game ( each unit equals a Platoon ) similar to John Tiller's Campaign Series ( the old East/West front II ). This way BF would have developed a 1 to 1 level ( CMx2 ), squad level ( CMx1 ), and Platoon level ( CMx whatever ).
  20. Why is there going to be a CMx2 WWII if TOW is already available ? they both are suppose to be 1 to 1 in scale to fight say Platoon size engagements. What are going to be the main differences between the two ? I don't know, but for some reason when TOW came out I thought it was the 1 to 1 scale that BF was looking for.
  21. Dirtonix, sorry about that as I didnt know it was you. It does look like you have me in this game, but maybe I can come up with something before its to late, lol. Joe
  22. How about just a small CMAK, 44 Bulge-light snow, Reinforced Company size 2 or 3 game Operation ( 1000 points, Combined Arms ), Random Map, Village. However, I dont like the "play as they lay" rule. Instead, units can be layed anywhere at the closest starting block( use the LOS tool to measure range ). If there is one continuous block, then anywhere in that block. Reinforcements must use the "play as they lay" rule. Tell me what you think, Joe
  23. Ummm, did you say 1 to 1 Infantry...thats just wonderful Was hoping to keep the Squad block of CMx1, but probably a different way of using firepower. Joe
  24. Phil, Thanx again for the Info. I still like to PM you soon regarding some stuff regarding 15" Laptos monitors.
