  1. It seemed that patches for CMBO fixed alot of glitches such as that, Brent Pollack.
  2. Ask one of the esteemed masters of the site for the answer!
  3. Can't wait until its selling in Australia! The screenshots look good.
  4. Could be that the flak guns are cammouflaged white! WHats the mod's name??
  5. Just stating what I've read! Hmmm the book was Jane's Encyclopedia of ww2 armour or something similar. It stated that some members of the high command wanted Shermans to support infantry while the TD's knock out enemy tanks. One of these being General McNair (the highest ranked general killed in Normandy).
  6. Hey bradenwalks, if you like CMAK thers also CMBO(Beyond Overlord which covers the Normandy invasion to the fall of the Nazi Third Reich) and CMBB (Barbarossa to Berlin which covers the "Patriotic war" between Germany and Russia). Now you can be like us, when you sleep you'll dream about bombing the heck out of enemy soldiers. Welcome as well.
  7. I didn't have to worry about that with the CMBO since I got the special edition version which was the only one that was available where I'm living.
  8. Junk2drive, I meant just the brief battle where 16 Matilda tanks and other assorted vehicles attacked German 88's. Its feasible from abook I was reading but I haven't had much time to sit down and actually do it!
  9. I don't see why the Italians couldn't have used green in Italy while yellow cammo paint on vehicles in the desert. Hmmm green Italian tanks.
  10. Stoat, it would also depend on what the tank crew wanted! Anyway weren't American tanks discouraged from knocking out enemy tanks, at least initially. The job of destroying tanks was meant for TD's or so I've read in several books that deal with ww2 tanks. A pity the sherman was given a bigger gun but I guess it would have needed modification for that.
  11. Could you post an AAR of the game (i.e. the final score) or any other info you want? By the way did you win the battle??
  12. What are people's favourite scenario from any CM related game (includes demos), I have quite a few favourites from Krugowka Railway to Tiger Tiger to Line of Defense.
  13. Don't forget the Wespe, brummbar and Hummels. All good at lobbing shells at the enemy from "safe positions" i.e. hull down or covered by foliage and hiding.
  14. I guess its how close the flames are to them and if there are other factors such as 88mm shells smacking into walls inches from their heads I think like it has been said before a fresh platoon was waiting just outside away from the flames and out of sight of you and moved when you did. I guess next time surround the house and have different units covering different areas of the house to suppress units from all sides in the building. If you have several mortars capable of firing smoke perhaps use smoke near the house just before entering.
  15. Its good being able to post and meet new ppl that like the CM games. Hmmm for me it was originally pretty hard to write nething because I was new to CM and also trying to do enough study to pass my course.
  16. I wonder if any German heavy vehicles got knocked out at close range by a Churchill AVRE? I ask this because I read this old commando comic about an AVRE knocking out a Tiger Ein (Mark One).
  17. The CMAK companion book features 12 scenarios that are small battles that would be good for the beginner which if I'm not mistaken "Armoured Perambulators" is one. I wonder if anybody has fought of doing an Arras scenario using CMAK?
  18. originally written by vixen. Ouch shows that like real warfare friendly fire is a distinct possiblity. It's sort of like a game I was playing when I captured Ami prisioners and the remainder of the enemy shot the hell out of them.
  19. The longest winter : the epic story of WWII's most decorated platoon by Alex Kershaw is a good read even if it uses alot of propaganda drivel such as that Liebstandarte was originally concentration camp guards only instead of being formed as a bodyguard for Hitler. The Forgotten soldier by Guy Sajer as mentioned before is a good read.
  20. I'm a 4 year regular of combat mission originally starting out with the CMBO demo and going on to the others before finally purchasing all three games. Well in the context of Battlefront forums I'm abit of a NOOB. All three games are good even if ppl consider the graphics hopeless, theres more to games than just graphics, gameplay to me is KING!
  21. I guess that using alot of AA when possible if you want to bunch your troops up.
