  1. "Stop your whining and come up here to Bullhead City in July." Bullhead City = Blast Furnace I just hope that they keep the We-Go system
  2. There was a thread somewhere about the CMX2 starting off with the Outerspace Zombie Lobsters of Doom theater. I am ok with this just as long as BFC puts in the Camoflaged Motorcycle Flounder and Camel Corp .
  3. I think it is time to remind the everyone of BFC's long standing dictum..."When it is ready." This applies to teaser posts as well the product. I am anxiously awaiting CMX2 as well another game from competitor and I encourage everyone to leave them alone so they will get it done faster. Both companies take a great deal of pride in releasing a quality playable product on the first try and follow this rule. While the anticipation is agonizing they do not dissapoint. It is in their best interests to get the game to market so I wouldn't worry too much about it becoming vaporware. My big hope is that we can get through download.
  4. I think you all are underestimating BF.C. My speculation is that they are designing an engine that will support the various time periods of post World War 1 warfare. After all a tank is still a tank and a MG is still and MG. The only real difference is that maps will need to be bigger and the time frames for turns would have to be variable, IE 1 minute for 1939 to 1960, 30 seconds for '60-85, 15 seconds '85+. All this is very do-able. Today's processors can handle this easily and I hope that BF.C is taking into account the new video cards and processors. Not because they are the latest and greatest but they make the not-so latest and greatest cheaper and a standard for the industry. Computers and harware are so cheap now it is a wonder the industry can survive...$400 for a good Dell, not great but good. I, for one, am more than willing to wait until 'it is ready."
  5. "hi guys, does any of you know if somebody have ever take the time to put a lot of posts togueder and make an strategy guide for cmbb in english?,i found a cool one in spanish (im spanish)but im looking for one in english (for a friend) tnks." Looking at War's initial post and taking it at face value, he says that he wants it for a "friend" and looking at his response I would have to say that he is not a gamer, much less a wargamer . Setting these faults aside I would say that he doesn't need to download or purchase any manual for any of the CM products. Why would he when he all he has to do is give his friend the link to this forum. Why would anyone want to go anyplace else? Here everyone one is abused.. err..treated equally and an absolute wealth of knowledge and advice waiting to be given both unwanted and unneeded. its great here!!!
  6. Interesting topic, I have a BA in history (University of Arizona '97)and I do consider my self a historian. Not that I have a piece of paper that say I am but because I look at historical events, pick them apart piece by piece and figure out why they happened and what other events were caused by any particular event, ad nauseum. Being able to name dates, units and specific equipment is just part of the fun and any enthusiast(sp) can do that. I think a better question is " is history your hobby or your vocation?" Either way it is a lot of fun!
  7. I just read the review and its was very good one (duh). They put in plugs for the other two games and mentioned the upcoming CMX2. It is clear that PC Gamer is impressed with BF.C, as well they should be. Kudos to BF.C!!!!
  8. Now I may be wrong but I think that the firebombings of Dresden and Tokyo targeted the civilian populations in order to break their morale and stop supporting the war. Like I said I could be wrong but I don't think so.
  9. Please correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the bazooka use a shaped charge, thus negating most of the armor's slope and angle?
  10. HOT DIGGETY DOG!!!!!! 2 gigs of HD space....I guess I really don't need MS office anymore
  11. Aries, I think you have misconstrued my post about Italian tanks... Its a joke!!!!! It may not be a very good joke, but its a joke none the less. we can all laugh now
  12. How many gears does an Italian tank have? 4, 3 reverse and 1 foward The 1 foreward is in case it gets attacked from the rear
  13. I am really looking forward to playing v2 but I am curious, does your system lend itself to creating campaigns in other areas or is it restricted to the Crimea?
  14. Flaming, I don't think the Allies would have been slaughtered on the beaches in'44 if Italy would have been smart and stayed neutral. The United States was gathering experience at a very quick rate in terms of amphibous operations in the Pacific regardless of the absence of Torch and I know there is going to be disagreement on this but I think that most of the amphib experience did indeed came from the Pacific and not the Med. By the time Sicily came around the WA had developed the model for Overlord. I do think Overlord would have been a much closer affair though. To continue postulating on this. It is not too far a stretch to say the WA may have even had an easier time of it becase the OKH would have had only the Dieppe raid to base their asumptions on and may not have taken any Allied invasion seriously not having faced the Med invasions...
  15. Flamingknives, That is exactly what what on the rocky beaches at Dieppe in 42. Poor planning, inferior equipment, or at least unsuited for the task and inadequate training resulted in a bunch of dead Canucks and a very embarrassed Churchill (You think he would have learned from Gallopoli). Lessons were learned and the WA made the Amphib Assault a very powerful tool.
  16. I have just finished reading the AAR...WOW! I do have two questions. I noticed that "move slowly" was mentioned for armor. Is this a new command or was "hunt" used? This question is not meant as a negative statment but a guage of readiness. How "buggy" was the game when you were playing? It looks like another winner for BF.C
  17. MadMatt should ban himself from the forum for being such a cruel, evil, sadistic, mean, delivering when its ready, who obviously enjoys teasing the poor impatient innocents of the wargaming community type person. Next thing you know he will be throwing us a 15 second trailer of a 88 blasting some thin skinned British tank. just to rub salt in the wound
  18. I think whats his name has run full face into that little American quirk of "I may not like what you say but I'll defend your right to say it to my last breath." Eichenbaum is not harming any body with his site and, yes, Whats-his-name has the same right to critisize ( and face the reprecussions) as any one else. But if he wants to bash people that he thinks is threatening his little myopic world why doesn't he go after the real neonazis or the KKK. They have plenty of websites where the intent is to display the objectionable symbols with full meaning and intent! Stop the baiting already...
  19. Mr. 'nzn, As you have probably discovered that this can be a rough (and tough) crowd. I offer this advice with the best intentions and no sarcasm; Criticism of the game can be offered but only in a positive manner and I believe that yours was interpreted as somewhat "flaming" and you must have empirical data to back up you claims. I have seen several cases where MadMatt has asked for more data (game turns) for research. So, these guys are open to suggestions and take their product very seriously as they should for a product that is very well done. Ok, I am done preaching... light me up!
  20. I want to thank you all for confirming that the T-34 is not the 1941 Uber-tank and that my tests weren't skewed. I was using H models and they did quite well and even came out ahead with crack crews when the odds were 1:1. The rate of fire is amazing for the Mk III Hs with the 50mm. My regular opponent now has no reason to whine when I bring out the T-34s.
  21. Reeds, hemp, perilla, poppy, etc l,094,976 lbs. Whats up with that huh? To heck with the nuclear stuff!!! Hemp and poppies!!! When you are getting this stuff anything is art Ok comrade dude, I'll attack Berlin  Whatsa Berlin? Got any cookies?
  22. I am interested as well but need some more details please. You can e-mail me
  23. Soviet artillery is not lousy, just hard to use. I use the big stuff as preplanned, with suitable delay, on areas that look like they might hold enemy troops. I have seen arty damage tanks but not knock one out so I don't even plan to knock out armor with indirect arty anymore. You might want to try on map mortars(50mm and 81+mm). These are really quick, quite good and are versatile both offensively and defensively. Soviet off map mortars can be as quick as 2 minutes and have upwards of 200 rounds. Anything bigger than a 50mm can take out AT guns and MGs. 50mm are great for suppression but won't kill a flea. Make sure you read your manual for using mortars with some type of leader, indirect fire with units on map, very very wicked Rockets are very cool to watch, cover a big area but are generally useless after your troops get to within fighting range of the enemy, its just too inaccurate. If you want to use rockets the 132mm are the best, but I won't use them after turn 6 or 7 as they are just as likely to take out advincing friendly units. My 2 cents worth...
