Yeah, I am deploying to Germany for a year, after my unit goes to Military Police school.The unit we are taking over in Germany are in Iraq.
I doubt Ill get any new toys, since we are shipping most of our weapons with us

I guess I should have been more specific. In my MOSs, 19k20 and 14S20, we do not have optics on personal weapons. So maybe the infantry have them, but not vehicle crewmembers (which is what I am)

Well, I am 27 single gamer and Otaku, and I am happy. Ive been playing games since I was 7, play on average 6 hours a day, when I am not working or studying. I consider being a gamer a life-style, not just a hobby
There are still good games coming, like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and STALKER.

You mean in the game or in real life? Cause in real life, not all rifles or MGs have optics. In my 8 years of US Army service, Ive never used one with optics

The new US Army ACUs come with knee pockets as well

There is a difference between calling in an AIRSTRIKE and calling in ARTILLERY. If a unit has Arty assets assigned to them according to OPORD, then pretty much a platoon SGT and above can call in arty. Damn, Ive called in Arty before, adjusted it, and I am just a SGT. Of course I was a tanker, so we had arty all the time

As far as I know Abrams do not have FLIR. They do have thermal sights, though

I was a tanker in rapid deployment unit (3rd ID) for 2 years, and our "boots-on-ground" time was 72 hours(with-out the tanks) With Strykers units can deploy with the vehicles

Will the load-out be specific for each solder platoon position? Like the SAW gunner will have SAW pouches, and M203 grenadier extra grenade pouches? Will you model the old and the new style of Kevlar(helmet)? Will a radio guy carry a singars in rucksack with antenna sticking out? Will some wear sunglasses? Will we see expended cases being ejected? I guess, the question is: how detailed will soldiers be?

The only guys wearing ACUs in my unit are officers. Ive been told that I am not allowed to wear DCU boots with BDUs, even though many units are doing it...

So what about transport helos, like UH-60 Black Hawk, and Chinooks? Can they be in the game please?
Steve, will you be including Rangers or Special Forces?
How will you handle shoulder patches? Will they be different depending on scenario?
