  2. thnx YankeeDog, I miss the barages also because i like normally big or huge battles. Iam currently building a battle which is a russian assault. Russians more then 120+ tanks and the germans about 40+. Some inf div.Map is 2 by 2.2 km. I think this is such a battle which is has a need for a rolling barage. Iam testing it and i must say it's ****ing cool see so many tanks rolling over your screen and hearing air power the hole time see your panzer shot to hell of being bomb by a sturmovik. I've two questions, the first its so hard to test it against te ai. probely because i let the ai attack. The second is because this is the biggest battle i have played ever i scattert the reinforments over the battle but i think when both sides are reinforced it can take about 2-3mins to think. Does the map has anything to do with it when i make less woods etc will the game be faster or does it only has to do with units . I'll hope someone who makes big battles can give me some tips thnx in advance maus

  4. hello, i've a question too why cant i give the rolling barage order? :confused: Expecially when you have an scenario which has an arty barage. I thought that arty most of the time used rolling barages because it's much more effective. (some scenarios have enough stock to do such an attack) And i also have another, why is a ref target point faster to fire then a spot which is in LOS :confused: It has nothing to do with the angle or spot because the spotter knows the spot tells it to the arty guys and they blast the particular piece of map to hell.Or can't the arty guys read a map?? :confused: pls does anybody know this or has this been posted before thnx maus

I normally never retreat (orders from the fuhrer) so i dont know why all this fuss is about? i think the best way to retreat is 1 squads retreats and about 2 or 3 squads give support fire with mortars and guns or tanks. otherwise you are a goner. But like i said sooner i normally never retreat it will cost you to much, better let the enemy pay for every inch of the battlefield and let some squads be wiped out.
  6. thnx rune, didnt know that 1ss panzer did had the same tactics as i had, but you are right maybe elite is to much for wittman, again i must say to the designers EXCELLENT battle. I'll hope they wil continue to make them. Also i know now 1ss panzer was just reinforced so that is why there are no crack squads

Iam for the campaign mode, because i like big battles en wanted to see how my compagnie survives during the war en progresses example The soldiers who are fighting the first battle should be better then those who didnt. In that case your compagnie becomes more veteran than crack en some elite during the war. also reinforsments should be regular. This way you can decide if you want your better troops to get better or your regulars get veteran. i hope this will occur on the next engine

  10. Hello Chad, iam playing the opening moment. This is a superb battle. Iam currently around round 35 and got already three flags. I've your going to pbem this one it will take a while. The nice part of the battle is that wittmann is back and you get alot of tanks. There are some things i dont understand. the first is wittmann was then already elite not just crack, the second i thought 1ss panzer was a elite div, but most of your troops arent even veteran. So when a russian gun pops up you see everbody ran like hell get shot up and die. The third one is i read there where about 26 guns one mile of front i think they are in this one too. So the main thing to do in this battle is advance only with your tigers than behind them your other panzers then your mobile inf. I put almost all of my troops in the middle and advanced by the road.
  11. When i buy airpower they have to be at least crack then they will attack the enemy. thank god i have never had this problem that my forces was shot up by my own plane. What i see is that they attack abanded vehicles and knocked out ones. But i agree this arent red barons (**** wrong war) but they normaly do plenty of damage

I agree with Joachim, sometimes when i attack i use this bug in my advantage by leaving the hard spots nearing them and try to pass by them then the next battle i get it anyway, without losing many soldiers. I know this is a gamey way to win but what the hell. This also happens when iam defending a point with most of my forces kicking the ia back and the next battle i have leave this area because the frontline is put back a mile and you cannot change there position in that area so the most your forces are standing in the middle of knowhere get shelled by the ai the first turn so you have to retreat. so my question is: if there is an area where many troops are and frontline is pushed back still give that area under your controll so you still can change your positions in that area. (maybe it's not true but i usely see those area's for the ai but when you put there forces there is always nobody to be found, does the ai always retreat behind the frontline??? or can you let them stay in that area especially when it's good to defend.)
  13. Hoi Eichenbaum, finally i got the code. It was in battle three. This i how i got the code, (maybe gamey or not) the first battle i got al my german troops in the middle to the objective A my panzers to waypoint 2 and rushed my fj to the houses higher up the romanian troops all to the right side and send them strait to objective three. So i got past waypoint two had a big fight by objective a and the rest of my forces just moved forward. On the second battle all my arty was directed at the bunkers.The hole battle it was just a shooting range for my panzer (lost a few) but steadily shot every bunker away.The hole second battle my forces on right and left could go forward without much trouble.By then my forces on the right side where near the third objective.So when i started the third battle i got the code. Lost about 20% of my forces. I didnt finish i right now but surely have a go for it later. I like to say just as all the others this is one kick ass scenario. But one thing i dont understand i had only objective a and i have won the battle??? Is this because the forces on my flanks pushed much further ahead the my main force?? But anyway can you send me the sequel dankje wel alvast

  15. Hello Raziaar, i've now the game for nearly a year and i play it almost every day. This is because there are so many different battles. The tac IA is not good in advancing but if you give them more men and set the settings higher +3 then they can attack good.I play mostly against the cpu.Now i am learning how to use my forces properly because of the forum (it's the best i have read in a while).Also i like this game because everyone can make his own scenario than post it and everybody can play it.Also you can change any scenario you want so you can add troops or delete them, change there status from regular to crack or elite. You see this game has so many things it is certainly worth your bucks
  16. i dont agree with the quote that stuka's are to slow that is why they where shot by the spitfire's in the battle for england. The thing that was more important was the messersmit's had not enough fuel for more than 10 mins of fighting time over england. So all the english had to do wait for 15 mins than attack the bombers because all there fighter cover was already to germany. If they had made fighter wich could fight for about 20 mins more than england would have fall
  17. hello, i've played the hole scenario with a p4 2.4ghz with a 128mb geforce 4. The first turns are a bit slow but by then you have lost so many men it going much faster. The first few turns it took me 10 mins after that it went to about 5 mins. And by the way i won a total victory after a few battles. Its a nice scenario because you have so many different units.

  19. moon when i understand you correctly its not about the number of disks but about the development time to make those extra bmps. Then why dont you let people make mods let them send to you and you choose the best put them on an extra cd. Because there are many good mod makers when i look in cmmods And those few you find good give a percentage or something like that I say this because i find it very hard to get good mods and i want to pay more if i dont have to search for them thnx Maus

  22. thnx sodball, but i still dont know why they its saying that the truck is carrying ammo in a battle. I know now that in a scenario i have to have my ammo trucks in one piece or the next battle i have no ammo.
