  1. Very informative discussion ... thanks to everyone! David
  2. Thanks, Jarmo .... that appears to settle it. I will still be playing ... just not on the road! Cheers
  3. This feedback is most helpful, and I thank you all. I am going to put this project (playing CMAK on my G4) on the back burner, and continue playing on my PC desktop. Cheers, David Cross
  4. Well, Schrull, you may have identified the the problem (or at least one problem) ... I have been booting under OS/X, and then starting OS/9 from within OS/X. I haven't fussed with the RAVE extension either. I will look into these. I read the post by Wicky, and downloaded the archive file you mention, but was reluctant to install that over the newer ATI driver/utility. I will check into this also. Thanks for helpful information ... I will report back on what I find out. Cheers
  5. I have read everything I can find on the Battlefront, ATI, and Apple websites, and I still cannot get CMAK to run on my G4. I have downloaded the most recent video driver from ATI, and disabled FS Anti-aliasing. I experience two problems. First, I never get asked to approve the current graphics setting. Second, once I launch the game, the screen is black with brown/white blocks where the startup window/text would be. Here are my specs: Powerbook G4 17" 1.67 GHz 1 Gb RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128 Mb VRAM OS X 10.4.7 (but running CMAK under OS 9) Thanks for your help! 6. Thanks! I was thinking the same as you. Looks like we will start this one over. Cheers
  7. I forgot my password to a CMBB PBEM game I am playing ... is it possible to recover it or change it? I know I am an idiot, and I know I may have to start over, but I thought I would ask first. Cheers, David
  8. I agree with Monwar and Dandelion ... I am somewhat new to CMBO (about 2 months) and am enjoying it thoroughly. Have plenty of good opponents. Have tried the CMBB demo, but wasn't all that impressed. I intend to play CMBO until I have a good reason to switch, and then will probably get CMAK. In any case, it is a great game system. Wahoo!
  9. Please sign me up for email play: davidcross@charter.net Cheers
  10. xwormwood (playing the axis) has defeated me in our pbem tourney game. Although the game is not over, my situation is hopeless, so I am resigning. It was a good game, played fairly by both sides. My thanks to worm, and good luck to all!
  11. Sorry, I thought my email address was in my profile. (You can email me by clicking on the envelope icon, can't you?) Anyway, here it is: davidcross@charter.net Cheers
  12. Count me in ... pbem works best for me because of my work schedule, but I can occasionally slip in some tcp/ip time. Also, about the "replay until you get it right problem", doesn't the game show how often your opponent reloaded that particular turn? In any case, what's the use of cheating? As for level, I am currently playing my first non-AI opponent, and feeling the sting. So I definitely qualify for the lower half! Cheers
  13. Very nice ... a quick question from a noob ... is CMMOS the best way to manage MODs? I find it difficult, if not impossible, to implement all of the changes that I want with CMMOS. Do experienced players do it manually? (Ummm ... no pun intended!) Cheers
  14. I am a newb and would like to try pbem ... I have CMBO, but not CMBB. Cheers, TBD
